Avatar m tn Lumigan is a glaucoma medication that is put directly on the eye. Latisse is the same medication, different packaging for eyelash growth and it is painted on the eyelashes with a brush. I suppose the study that was completed 12/31/09 for growing eyelashes was only done on upper lid eyelashes. Then that's all that the FDA will allow them to say.
Avatar n tn Excerpt from DoubleCheckMD - Latisse (bimatoprost topical ophthalmic)... "Latisse may cause color change in the sclera (tough, outer covering of the eye). Concurrent administration of bimatoprost topical ophthalmic solution (LATISSE) and IOP-lowering prostaglandin analogs in ocular hypertensive patients may decrease the IOP-lowering effect. Patients using these products concomitantly should be closely monitored for changes to their intraocular pressure.

Avatar f tn Both his upper and lower lid has eyelash loss. We noticed this is November and our pediatrician had no knowledge as so why. His blood came back fine. His eyes look normal no red, swelling. He recently went to a local eye doctor which he was diagnosed with blepharitis. He were instructed to wash is eyes 3xs a day and apply eye ointment at bedtime. At the very outer edge he has a few about 10 lashes. Yesterday I counted the lower lid and he is down to 3.

This new growth had been injected with steroids once in January, reduced in size before returning to the original pea size again. Second injection was done in the beginning of April, and now it is again returning to it's big size. There seems to be no eyelash loss but I cannot guarantee. 1.
507082 tn?1210735777 My eyelashes have fallen out also. I have been using eyelash growing gels. I don't want to mention the names of the 2 different companys because I don't know if this is why they are falling out. They were not "fly by night" companys. They both hve very good reputations, and the growth gels worked unbelievably for the first 6 to 8 months. Now my eyelids seem to have dandruff that I have to brush off every day. I don't pull my eyelashes nor do I use mascara often.
