Lumigan is a glaucoma medication that is put directly on the eye. Latisse is the same medication, different packaging for eyelash growth and it is painted on the eyelashes with a brush.
I suppose the study that was completed 12/31/09 for growing eyelashes was only done on upper lid eyelashes.
Then that's all that the FDA will allow them to say.

there is a very fine hair that grows from the corner of my eye, i pull it out when it gets long enough to irritate but it returns. its not an eyelash, its not from my eylid at all its from the pink fleshy area in the corner of my eye. I have taken Lumigan for open Angle Glaucoma for a couple of years in one eye only. In April the ophthalmologist asked me to put them in both eyes. I have no problems with that and my IOP is well controlled. However, I noticed my PVC's have gone up considerably since taken the drops. At first with only one eye I had about 15,000 per day, now with drops in both eyes they have gone up to almost 30,000 per day. There where no other medication changes during that time.
There are many eyelash growth products in the market, but their efficacy has not been scientifically proven. So consult a dermatologist before using any of them.

hi am a trich sufferer. can i use normal lumigan eyedrops on my eyebrows,scalp and eyelashes? i dont have access to latisse.or is there any other medication that grows hair fast? can i use folligen? what are the adverse effects of using lumigan on eyes and eyebrows?
Do you mean you have something on your eyelid? if on eyelash the eyelash is usually just pulled out. If on the eyelid I have no way of telling how big of a deal this is. You really need to ask your surgeon.
My mother, age 53 and of Asian decent, had a lump in her upper left eyelid for around 6 months now. It started in October, a painless lump and then got removed in January when it grew in size. Then the doc realised that the flareup was due to another lump in the same area, a new growth! This new growth had been injected with steroids once in January, reduced in size before returning to the original pea size again.
The makers of Lumigan recently started to market the very same drops under the name Latisse for eyelash growth. I understand that they also looked into using it as a treatment for baldness but its too expensive to cover a large area like the scalp.
