i was on natural thyroid from Thailand but heard armour thyroid formula change back to how they used to have it. i have been taking the armour for 3 months and i feel aweful. is anyone else having these issues or should i just switch back to the thailand one?

Are you looking for Armour thyroid medication? You would have to get a prescription from your doctor, then get the medication from your pharmacy. I see you are in Ireland; I'm not sure it's available there.

Thanks for the info! i was planning on taking just 1/4 of the armour still keeping my t4 the same, just to see how i feel for the first week. Then maybe cut my synthroid in half the second week and take 1/2 of the armour. Does that sound about right for now just to gradually convert, i was assuming that i would have to have some synthroid with the armour, but maybe not. I'll see how it goes.

I am very close with them working on getting past this shortage and really - they seem very sincere in helping desiccated thyroid patients with getting the right med. I had my thyroid taken out in May this year. I was on synthetic but now am just starting on Armour. My thyroidectomy was due to suspicious cytology. Definitive diagnosis is difficult by needle aspiration and surgery is needed in some situations to be able to pin down a correct diagnosis. In my case, the thyroid was totally filled up with nodules so there wasn't much of it functioning anyway so they just took it out. I did fine. The surgery was as easy as one could imagine...

ve been taking Armour thyroid for about 10 years now, my most recent labs show my TSH as hyperthyroid with the T4 and T3 normal range and he lowered my dose but I feel awful! I have extreme fatigue, crying at the drop of a hat, dry skin, hair failling out, memory fog. No idea what is going on? In the USA at least, all hormones including thyroid hormone(s) T4 (Synthroid) and T3 (Cytomel) and Any natural desiccated thyroid med like Armour require doctor Prescription. To dose thyroid you absolutely need to be tested for at a minimum Free T4 and Free T3 tests. Typically people need to be at least in the middle of the reference range for BOTH thyroid hormones if not a bit higher int he range.

First - thyroid supplementation is for an underactive thyroid, bot an overactive thyroid. Both Armour Thyroid and levothyroxine are thyroid supplements - levothyroxine is T4, which is the form of hormone produced by the thyroid gland, and which is converted to the active T3 form. Armour Thyroid contains both T4 and T3. Some patients don't seem to convert T4 to T3 quite the way they should and this may explain why some feel better on Armour Thyroid.
