In addition to the medications, there are fillers or binders in the different preparations that cause some people problems. We are dealing with a lifelong condition, so side effects, etc. are not something you just put up with for a couple of weeks like when you take an antibiotic, for instance. Furthermore, we are all different and have different comfort levels of FT3, FT4 and TSH. So, adjusting meds to proper levels is time consuming and trying.

I too am on Armour, I do very well on it, when I first began thyroid meds, my doctor put me on Levothyroxin, did not do well, then i changed to veloxyl I think thats what its called, but had horrible side effects from it. So I then read about Armour, and its works well so far for me, with no side effects. It all depends on what your body needs, and what works for you.
It may be a combination of both stabilizing on the med itself and having the condition of hypothyroidism in general.
Many sufferers have this issue as I can personally contest too. I do not have these "real time" dreams at all since getting my Armour thyroid right - along with becoming optimal with my condition.
Do you have anxiety with your condition too? Most people that have built up anxiety issues from the hypo will say these dreams are more vivid.
After my RAI I was put on first thyroxin, then levoxyl, had horrible side effects, I had leg twitching, my left leg would be cold, and the right warm, my feet would become really hot, even though my room was cold, I had weird feeling when I"d go into a room like I was looking at it through a glass mirror like it wasn't real, very strange feeling.

Armour thyroid when taken in correct dosage generally causes no side effects . However serious side effects do occur when the dosage is too high . Symptoms of Hyperthyroidism may occur which include – Heart palpitations , Tachycardia, Heart attack , chest pain , Heart failure , difficulty breathing , Hypertension , Insomnia , anxiety , muscle weakness and a lot of other symptoms . So first of all you need to get the dose of Armour Thyroid adjusted .
Hi there. Yes your thyroid and menopause have a massive effect on each other. I am going through exactly the same thing. I was told that HRT can have a settling effect on the thyroid during this transition, unfortunately I personally cannot take it due to it's side effects. So, your thyroid medication needs can change whilst on HRT.
I am on 15 grams of Armour thyroid and the only side effect that I have had is a little bit of sweating..I am also in menopause so I am not sure if this is why I am sweating more or the Armour. No other side effects thus far. I was on synthroid and it nearly took all of my hair out. I hated it.I kept asking the doctor about it and he was saying that it was nothing they could do because synthroid was the best medication to take.
I forgot to mention in my previous post that I was tested for antibodies and both ANA and the other antibodies test he conducted indicated early stage of Hashi's. I'm thinking that although 25mcg is a low dose of Synthroid, it was too high a dose for me to start on because my TSH wasn't that high and my thyroid gland is still producing a sufficient amount of hormone to keep me going.
So is it possible to start treatment with Synthroid too soon?

You seem very knowledgable and I was hoping you could help me though adjusting my armour. I have no thyroid (RAI) and took 1.5 grains of armour 1X day for a year with no problems. Almost overnight, my TSH raised to 5.8 and my FT3 dropped to 2.3, FT4 .61 so I needed to raise my armour. Ever since this time, I have struggled. I had a doctor put me on IsoCort who never tested me first (mistake #1) and I have been taking the higher dose of Armour in 1x day (mistake #2).
