I have a cold/sore throat for a week now. Took 1 tab of a decongestant similar to Sudafed last evening as I was having chest pain and palpitations all day. After a few hrs while I had been sitting for sometime, felt nausea/thud in the chest and knew I was going to pass out again. Got up to take my heart rate and it was all over the place. I saw 196, 154 and then it settled at 136. After that 136, 126 and 119. Then I slumped to the floor.
The third day that I took .30mg of thyroid tab, I had a severe reaction. The top of my head felt like it was going to explode, Pressure behind my eyes, chills, heart racing and throat swelling. I was lucky I had prednisone to take or I would have ended up in the ER. I haven't went back to my Dr. yet because I am afraid to take any thyroid medication. This was a very scary experience.
If you did not do a Stress Test, where the electrical activity of your heart was monitored while you were under physical stress and the heart rate (and presumably the ectopics as well) were elevated, consider asking your Doctor if a Stress Test might be advisable.

Yesterday I took Norco and I put a lidocaine patch and I woke up with weird heart sensation, like slow heart rate or something. Could it be caused by lidocaine patch? I also take the following medication:
Atorvastatin Calcium 80 Mg- 1 tab in the evening
Carvedilol 6.25 Mg- 2 tabs morning and 1 in evening
Spironolactone 25 Mg- half a tab morning
Aspirin 81 mg- 1 in the morning

This would be true as heart failure congestion is caused by the inability of the heart to pump with some equilbrium for the blood received from the lungs and this would cause blood to backup into the lungs and fluids would/will leak into the tissues causing congestion (pulmonary edema).

I have been on Armoud thyroid for many years and over the last year taking a 120 tab and a 15 tab per day. About 6 weeks ago I started having heart palpitations and the doctor cut the 15 tab. I was ok for a while and then the heart palpitations started up again and one week ago he cut me to 90 mg a day. The heart palpitations stopped pretty quickly and right after that I developed a feeling of being lightheaded and really tired and have done little but lie around.
Mainly at night, but also sometimes during the day my heart pounds and races. I feel my pulse throughout my entire body. I'm a 28 year old otherwise healthy female. I've cut out caffeine and drinking, I exercise regularly and eat a well balanced diet. I don't feel other anxiety symptoms, but have in the past. I've had an echo, ekg, holter 24hr and all results have been normal. I do have a heart murmur and PVC's and I am waiting to see the cardiologist in early Jan.
but once it gets close to when i want to go to sleep my chest starts hurtin above my heart and it gets hard to breathe..ive been cuttin back on my food intake and lifting weights now but i was just wonderin if this was all in my head and if it is what are some ways to get it out??

Iam suresh,age 50yrs,suffering from rheumatic heart disease.undergone open heart surgery for mitral valve replacement and tricuspid valvotomy in the year 1992 and i was all right with 5.5cm Left atrium up to December2007and the LV EF was60%.After 2 months i become very weekandlossed more than 10 kg wt2D echo showed LA size as 5.9 and LV EF as35%,prosthetic valve funcctiong well.After taking treatment I was all right with 60% LV Efand improved wt to 62kg.

Since my blood pressure is now in the 95/67 range, my doctor told me to reduce the dose. When I tried to reduce from 1 tab to 3/4 tab, I felt my heartbeat was faster than normal. I thought this medication lowers the blood pressure and has nothing to do with the heartrate. Anyone has experience with Lisinopril / HCTZ ? Thanks.
