Avatar f tn Im on medication for depression and anxiety. Also occasionally I have a sedative in case I go bizzercerz. Would that hurt my child more than stress would?
Avatar n tn It's not a bad idea for you to at least try the many different natural treatments before subjecting yourself to medication, although I must be honest that in many cases that are more severe, the natural suppliments are not enough to effect any positive change in the anxiety or depression. I have tried just about every natural treatment for depression and anxiety on the market today.
1021784 tn?1306366611 If you're not familiar with it, CBT is a series of mental exercises that helps you to learn how to rationalize your random thoughts in an organized fashion, essentially reteaching you how to identify legitimate versus irrational anxiety. It is also used to face your anxiety and overcome it, along with identifying and practicing relaxation exercises and healthy coping mechanisms.
Avatar f tn I have pretty bad anxiety and depression. I'm on Effexor XR, 150mg and was on Xanax as needed. I no longer have the Xanax as, for a while there, I wasn't needing it as much. Now it seems like my anxiety is rearing its ugly head again. I can't sleep because I constantly worry and stress over the tiniest little things. I can't relax at all. I'm hesitant to go back on the Xanax. I have a fear of being over-medicated, I guess.
Avatar f tn V is literally out of your system the next day, so it should be easy to tell if that is the cause. How well do you sleep at night? Have you been having anxiety attacks? Are you on any other meds? Finally, was it a cardiologist that said to stop the meds or a general gap?
Avatar n tn -- Could these symptoms have been caused by the withdrawel and not from anxiety? -- Are there alternatives to Paxil, preferably herbal? -- Is there another RX with less side effects as mentioned?
Avatar n tn I have had low grade depression for the past 10 years and in the past 2 years ( coinciding witha new job)had 2 distinct anxiety attacks. I have recently been divorced, found a new lover ( after a year) who lives half way around the world. I really do not like my job and would like to move to where my new lover lives. First off I have tried 2 meds Effexor and Zoloft. The sides ( more depressed, jittery, zombie, sleeplessness)made me a wreck and I stopped them after 2 and 6 days respectfully.
Avatar m tn anxiety, palpitations, sleeplessness! I was fine on levoxyll! What other drug would be the closest to Levoxyl? Any experiences with Tirosint? What is the difference between Tirosint and all the other levothyroxine meds? I am exploring different options, even generic, as long as it works!
Avatar n tn Hi all, Still having my breathing issues and am trying real hard to be strong. Medication-wise I take a Xanax daily in the am .25 My therapist put me om Cymbalta in March, I hated the side effects and really would like to not have to be on an antidepressant. Busparone before that in Feb gave me really bad hallucinations and terrible thoughts I couldnt get out of my head.
Avatar n tn I hear Ashwaganda or other herbal adaptogens might ease my anxiety/depression and give me more energy. What do you know about this? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Brushing my hair makes my arms ache the same way. The cramps are slowly returning to my face and feet. What alternatives can i ask my physician to try? The beta blocker controls my blood pressure quite well (for the 1st time in at least 15 yrs!). There must be an alternative though. I need good questions/facts to share with my physician so i can get back to healthy! Thank you very much!!

Avatar f tn But you feel the come down as well. To me it would depend on how bad you anxiety was. If it was 24/7 anxiety I would more inclined to go for klonopin. Dosed out twice a day. To cover the whole day. As it can be used for a lot longer. Talking years wise. I know they are all the same come the end of the day. Once on them for a long period of time we can't just stop taken them. But just another opinion. I would also agree with the theraphy suggestion. Big time.
Avatar n tn We must all bear in mind, however, that there really are NO viable alternatives to narcotics for effective long term pain control. That said, have you heard of a drug called Talwin-Nx. This is a compound of Pentazocine and Naloxone. I don't know much about this combination except that it is specified for use by patients with a history of drug dependence. Perhaps someone else in this excellent forum might have more information.
Avatar m tn I should also state that before this diagnosis and before starting any anxiety medication I never had what I considered to be abnormal bowel problems. So now I have been prescribed imipramine to help with my anxiety and IBS. However, since being on imipramine for about a year my "IBS" has gotten worse. Rather then occasional bowel issues, I now have daily bowel issues generally causing me bad cramping, bloating, constipation and nausea.
1669548 tn?1318792334 Hi All, I'm curious to hear from anyone else who practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for their anxiety, and how effective it may be long-term without medication- I've been using CBT for about 2 years, and it's been a godsend as far as reducing the severity and frequency of debilitating anxious moments, but I still feel that my baseline anxiety level is higher than it could be.
Avatar m tn (, I am on Welbutrin right now and just started the 300mg today. Is anyone else on this medication for Anxiety? Also how does one figure out what is causing the lightheaded / dizzy feeling from anxiety and how to stop it....
203342 tn?1328740807 It did nothing for me) and one who gave me an anti-anxiety medication, which I took one time and threw them away because the room was spinning and I felt like I was going to fall. I am not interested in taking drugs. I am interested in more natural remedies and learning how to deal with it better. I think doctors are just too quick to hand out the drugs as a pat answer for everything. I don't want to take drugs. I don't like drugs. I barely ever take Tylenol.
Avatar n tn Now, I started on Xanax because I had a lot of anxiety and stress myself. Then my doctor started me on an anti-anxiety/ anti-depressant medication in hope of taking me off the Xanax. I know you might not want to hear it, and believe me I don't like taking medication if I don't have to, but you might want to think about going on an anti-depressant that works on stress and anxiety symptoms.

Avatar f tn Currently taking clonazepam daily for anxiety. What other meds can I discuss with my doctor which are indicated for insomnia. Ambien did absoutley nothing for me. Benadryl can sometimes have the opposite effect on me and have me tossing and turning when I take more than 50 mg.'s. Since I am already taking a benzodiazepine I don't want to take another.

Avatar n tn Here's my history: I have struggled with depression on and off since my early 20s. About 18 months ago I "gave in" & agreed to try medication. My MD put me on Wellbutrin XL & I responded well in most areas, but saw an increase in irritability & anxiety. She then added Zoloft & that eliminated the new symptoms, but I started feeling shaky, lazy & sleepy all the time. I gained 25 pounds, putting me at my heaviest weight EVER.
Avatar f tn I wa just wondering if anybody has managed to combat their anxiety without medication. I ask because I experience symtpoms everyday but my mom won't let me take the xanax that my doctor prescribed for me. I really want to stop feeling horrible all the time so i was wondering if anybody had any success with any thing else besides medication.
Avatar m tn As for Buspar from a lot of online research many people have had it work for anxiety, as it is just an anxiety medication and not depression. I read hundreds of good reviews on it, so research may say something but I also take weight in what actual people have to say. Spoke with my Dr about it and she agreed that it was worth a shot, and she has had many people who have done well with it.
Avatar n tn I am looking for some suggestion on medication used to treat anxiety that would have little to no side effects. I have a history of panic attacks and anxiety, but have never taken any medication for it. I have always gotten counseling. It has been years since I have had an attack, but they have started up again. I know the cause of my anxiety; my husband was recently diagnosis with hepatitis C and cirrhosis and has gotten pretty sick.
Avatar n tn Clonozopan i believe is for my anxiety which is okay, no complains there but the Apo-Zopiclone (7.5mg) , i'm stuck taking 5 or 6 or them just for these pills to work. otherwise, if i follow the instructions on the bottle it says; "Once a day before bed time". Well, i take it before bed time drink a glass of milk and try to sleep but all my senses are enhanced; so i can't sleep. i take 2 more, eat so carrots, maybe an apple, have a cigarette and go to sleep. But no, i'm fully awake?
