Anxiety medication no prescription

Common Questions and Answers about Anxiety medication no prescription

Avatar n tn Xanax is a good medication for anxiety. So is Valium. They are prescribed for anxiety disorders. If I were you, I'd ask the doc if the Cipralex could make the heart palpitations and anxiety worse, and I would also ask if he/she has ever used a betablocker to help treat symptoms of anxiety and whether or not you might benefit from one. Low-dose betablocker is frequently prescribed to help treat symptoms of anxiety (fast heart rate, palpitations, premature beats, anxiety attacks).
Avatar f tn It's never a bad idea to get an up-to-date prescription if you still need the medication — there is a general recommendation to toss expired medications, regardless of the form. This is for your safety. All of that being said, use your own judgment and perhaps give a call to your pharmacist or health care provider. Always use your best judgement, and you take care!
Avatar n tn I have taken Propanolol and Effexor for a couple of years with no issues. I don't take the Propanolol for anxiety but for a tremor in my hand. Propanolol is used as an anxiety medication, cluster headaches, high BP and tremors like mine. I have taken it with just about every antidepressant out there with no issues. At one time I also took a BP medication with it due to high BP and with no problems. Although with lifestyle changes I was able to get off of the BP medication.
Avatar n tn I was prescribed Propranol with Effexor, because of bad anxiety, and there was no reaction between those two. However I did have a bad reaction between an anti-depressant (can't remember which) and migraleave for migraines. I had a bad fit. Yes your BP is high, but it is really up to you what you do. Propanolol is a beta-blocker to slow heart rate. I found once my anti-depressant (Effexor) kicked in, I did not need the Propanolol. I just took it for a short time.
Avatar n tn All I am asking is shouldn't I treat my anxiety with some low dosage anti-anxiety medication instead of going for antidepressants? As I know that if I never get the symptoms of panic attack, I will come out of depression too.
Avatar m tn None of us want to take medication, but for many, it has given us our life back. Anxiety is like any other medical condition requiring medication to control the symptoms. If you were told you had diabetes you wouldn't think twice about taking the necessary medication(s), anxiety is not different. You can try therapy which can be a lengthy process, and often the medication is needed during this time. You can safely wean off benzos under the guidance of your psychiatrist.
Avatar f tn Hi I was diagnosed with anxiety a while a go but I never took any medication I really believe I need medication because sometimes it can be pretty bad I failed my exams for year 12 unit 3 due to having a panic attack -_- I have shortness of breath, no matter what I know I suddenly forget everything. I have hot and cold chills run down my body. I feel dizzy. I start moving a lot, like rocking myself just to keep calm. (I sound crazy I know :P) I sometimes tremble and I just feel terrible.
Avatar n tn Hi, Just have a few questions about Anxiety Medication, Basically I have Anxiety\Panic Attacks, and ill be going to see my DR this tuesday about medication. My first question is, for whoever takes some type, how effective is it? does it really help? My aniexty is quite servere, but it is improving without any medication, alot better then it was at one time. I also have another quesiton thats been bothering me, How safe are these types of medication? Are they addicting? Cant they hurt you?
Avatar f tn I have did research and have personal experience with it during breastfeeding as well as with others in the same class of drugs and I know my symptom severity and that my symptoms get worse when pregnant and I have choosen to stay on this medication. If you talk to your Dr and decide it's best to go off your medication your Dr can tell you the safest way to go off of your medicine and when you need to. I had bad side effects when I came off my medicine before.
411389 tn?1230128077 The dosage of Diazempam wasn't high at all, then again I rarely returned to my GP only telephoning to renew my prescription to the administration area. So, I guess my GP wasn't aware that my anxiety had spiralled and i basically took it upon myself to increase the dosage as 5mg is by no means a strong dosage and like anything when you take it for so long, the system becomes somewhat immune to it.
612551 tn?1450025775 When we picked up the prescription it cost $1,290.00 Wow, looking into the issue I see the medication is listed at over 1,600 for 90 pills, or over $18 per pill. This is enough to cause anxiety by itself. We paid our $1,250 plus our per prescription copay of $40. Happily we will pay only the copay for future refills this calendar year. These numbers are not exact, I don't remember the exact change and resolution between the $1,290 and the list price.
Avatar n tn I have been taking restyl for the past 6 months under prescription. I want to know if there are any side effects and if I could stop this now.
Avatar m tn Some have walked out of only one session no longer carrying a fear or addiction they've had with them they're whole lives. Definitely worth looking into. If you can quit a heroin addiction you can overcome anxiety! No prescription meds required!
3150328 tn?1349630721 Lifestyle changes, if needed, would include not eating at least 2-3 hours before you go to bed, not lying flat when you sleep, but having the head of your bed at a slant, avoiding foods that set the acid off, like fried and fatty foods, dairy, citrus, etc., and if you smoke, quitting.
Avatar m tn For a couple of years now, my father has been complaining about having anxiety. I told him that if he ever wanted to talk to someone he could talk to me, but for some reason he never wanted to tell me what was bothering him. It wasn't until a few days ago that he decided to open up on what was bothering him. He explained to me that he feels like people look at him funny. That he feels as if he looses feeling on his face and walks "funny".
Avatar n tn A few years ago I was drugged and attacked and ever since then I have developed an anxiety disorder as well as PTSD. I am terrified of taking any type of medication, even aspirin. I have finally begun therapy, and my therapist really wants me to try to take something and I was prescribed a low dose, 37.5mg of Venlafaxine (Effexor) by my primary care doctor. I have read all the possible side effects, one of which is seizure.
1836925 tn?1318365873 You are having a normal reaction to a stressful situation, not suffering from chronic anxiety that has no basis in reality like most of us on here. Doctors are very quick to hand out drugs because that's all they know how to do. I'd see a psychologist if you don't have a support network who can help you talk it out and learn some relaxation techniques that don't require you to suppress what you're feeling and that aren't addictive medications. Hope things get better.
Avatar m tn I had to give up driving It started when I was at high speeds all of a sudden and got so bad I could not even drive down the road! I was given prozac for about a year but still too scared to drive. I now have just started with remeron 15mg at night Do not know about the alcohol now as I gave up when I started prozac as I became really ill. Years before this I was on Effexor capsules which I took every morning for years I was driving ok and only gave them up because I fell pregnant.
Avatar n tn On the other hand, if it is anxiety then it is treatable. There is no reason you should have to live like this. There are medications on the market to treat this. I would get another doctor or another opinion. Certain antidepressants treat anxiety. You don't necessarily need pain pills. I still am not convinced it's anxiety. Doctors love to give people this diagnosis when they don't know what it wrong. First off, I say get a new doctor.
114870 tn?1210301946 My husband says I should see a doctor and get put on some kind of medication. But what, how can medication every fix my sadness. Sorry, I just feel like this is the best place to ask. I've never expressed these feelings to anyone so thanks for listening.
Avatar f tn Well, I won't try to talk you into taking medication as you say you are against it although I wonder why. Anxiety and depression are issues with brain chemistry and if it is not corrected through medication plus therapy, it is left to get worse. It is making your life more difficult and these problems harder to deal with. Medication these days is much easier to take than in the past with a side effect profile that most can manage. But that is your choice. Do you at least do therapy?
Avatar m tn When nothing seems to work you can always try medication. I have been living with anxiety for a long time and have had a wonderful life. Try not to be afraid of it, just realize it's real, feel it and let it pass through. I realize it is much, much harder to actually do this but it's possible. Yes you should see your doctor to make sure it isn't something else, that in itself can lesson the anxiety, knowing there isn't something serious going on.
Avatar n tn After leaving the hospital another pyschiatrist prescribed me adderrall once again. My mother during the time was very against ADD medication and would no longer pay for me to get it. While I was on the medication I saw huge improvement and even was able to work. Now at 21 and jobless living with my mother she has agreed that the adderrall was beneficial and that I should make another appt to try and get back on it. My question is will a doctor prescribe it to me again?
Avatar n tn Patients treated with alprazolam or other benzodiazepines for generalized anxiety disorder were found when abruptly discontinuing their medication to experience withdrawal symptoms such as a worsening of anxiety, as well as the development of physical withdrawal symptoms. Patients taking a dosing regimen larger than 4 mg per day have an increased potential for dependence. This medication may cause withdrawal symptoms, which in some cases have been known to cause seizures.
Avatar m tn So here I am with all this pain and no answers. Then came along the 'Miracle' of Tramadol. Like I said, it solved my anxiety and took my headaches away without getting me high. I have a strong tolerance for medication so quickly I was having to take 2 50mg tablets twice daily, a total of 200mg/daily. This dosage was working fine for me for quite some time. Another medical problem I have developed a little over a year ago, I had a major panic attack one day out of the blue.
Avatar n tn If you end up getting some Ecstacy that has been cut with PCP or LSD, then it's gonna be a real long weekend for the poor sucker that takes it. This stuff is not like legal prescription medication. It's manufacturing process is not regulated. Basically your taking a drug that was probably made my some old hippie in his basement.
Avatar f tn I had the worst w/d symptoms ever and I only could deal with those symptoms no longer then a day. So I came to conclusion I had a dependency on the Norco. I talked to the OB. She of course reasurred me I was ok taking these meds, she's treated plenty of moms on these meds and delivered them as well. I then was reffered to Pain Management as well as a High Risk OB. So I'm seeing three docs because of me on the meds.
Avatar n tn I struggle with dependancy of the prescription medication Adderall, In recent months i let my addiction get the best of me and began making and writing my own scripts. Some we're filled, others we're recognized as bogus and turned down. Enevitably, it caught up with me. The doctor was informed and was sent the phony scripts via fax and the Attorney General was informed.
