anxiety

Avatar f tn Most of the time people with anxiety attacks get them because of stress so anything that will help you relax can help build up stress and prevent attacks.
Avatar m tn Your reactions are quite normal. Caffeine is a stimulant and when suffering from anxiety/panic attacks it would be best to avoid coffee but most of all those Energy drinks. Remember if you read about them they cause individuals who do not even suffer from anxiety to feel fast heart palpitations..basically I think they are poison for your body. Stay away from them. However when it comes to coffee you have to be the judge of that.

1553083 tn?1296235921 Sometimes there are days in a row or even a week or two where every day is filled with anxiety attacks, all of different severity but several of them per day. I'm easily set off, jumpy, startle easily during these times. Then I'll have a couple days or week where I maybe only have one minor one a day. But it definitely ebbs and flows. My psychiatrist once told me that anxiety begots anxiety and that's why it's so easy to get into a cycle of perpetual anxiety.
9336631 tn?1403676769 I've suffered from anxiety /panic attacks for years. As time goes on you learn how to deal with it. Cut off caffeine like coffee, tea, and certain kinds of pop, this induces panic/anxiety. Try to breathe calmly. You have to find a way that best suits you to remain as calm as possible. Personally I like goin outside for fresh air. Different things work for different people.
10011789 tn?1409707661 Anyone have issues with panic attacks? I had them probably 3 or 4 times in my life and never with my first pregnancy. Now with this one (having twins) I've already had 2 and I'm only 12 weeks. Both my parents take anxiety meds. I never have had to and don't want to but it's kind of scary. I'm never like stressed or thinking about anything at the time. It just suddenly hits me and I can't breath and I feel overwhelmed and trapped. My husband witnessed one and is now freaked out.

1694901 tn?1317009564 I feel your pain…I never suffered from anxiety or panic attacks till over a year ago when my mom passed away…I was on lexapro and xanax for about 8 months then my Dr. slowly took me off of them…I was good for a while and BAM out of the blue they came back even stronger…for the past two months it’s been an emotional rollercoaster for me…part of me wants to take the meds but the other part of me feels I need to take control over this! My Dr.
Avatar n tn I'm 20 and have been suffering from panic attacks, anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive thought patterns, and extreme uneasiness after having suffered an unknown illness in which I developed fever, fatigue, diahrrea, rapid heart beat, and difficulty breathing for a period of 2 weeks. The panic attacks turned into anxiety-attacks, in which I no longer felt that I was dying, but felt extremely uneasy to the brink of going totally crazy. This all occurred in a tropical 3rd world country.
Avatar m tn what if something like adrenal fatigue is causing my anxiety and I take anti anxiety medications that raise the serotonin levels in your brain !? I have many thoughts in my mind , I am getting crazy Has anyone had any experience like this before ? sorry for my bad English .
Avatar n tn Ian, You describe panic attacks in the setting of a variety of social situations. This most likely represents an anxiety disorder known as Social Anxiety Disorder. It is characterized by a marked and persistent fear of social or performance situations in which the person is exposed to unfamiliar people or to scrutiny by others. The individual often fears that he will act in a way that will be humiliating or embarrassing. Ultimately this can lead to avoiding some or all social situations.
Avatar n tn Hello All, I had RD surgery 8 weeks ago and is having a hard time adjusting to life after the surgery. I used to occasionally get anxiety attacks earlier in life, I am 60 years old, it increased when my mom died 5 years ago and more when my sister died of cancer 1 year ago. I did not take any medications for it, however; now I cannot sleep, all my thoughts are focused on not wanting to lose my sight.
Avatar m tn One of the toughest things with anxiety/panic attacks is finding out what comes first...sort of the 'chicken or the egg' type of thing. Do your fears, worry, thoughts trigger the physical symptoms you have or do the physical symptoms trigger the fear, worry, and panic thoughts. The first pshyciatrist I saw 30 years ago told me that 'we'd always be looking for the physical cause' of the symptoms I was dealing with. He was a smart guy.
Avatar m tn Had I read online about how common anxiety attacks after a night of drinking are, maybe I could have started my road to recovery sooner, and maybe some of you can. Anyways, I am a 25-year old college student (receiving my 2nd BA tomorrow actually :D) who had never experienced anything related to anxiety or panic attacks ever in my life. I've always been a laid back, easy-going individual.
Avatar m tn So being a hypochondriac that i am I starting worrying too much and starting having bad panic attacks and anxiety a lot. Which now has subsided but now I have been majorly depressed. No job, don't workout, and gave up on school. Starting seeing a psychologist which has helped little. Thought maybe I would try and start working out again but been too scared and depressed since I lost a lot of muscle.
Avatar n tn Since then for 12 years I have suffered from anxiety, occasional panic attacks, constant worrying and hypochondria. The worst part is the hypochondria, It goes through cycles I believed at one time or another I was dying from ALS, MS, Cancer, Parkinsons and everytime I have sex with a new partner I become paralyzed by fears of std's.
13746467 tn?1441844115 I have also found that deep breathing is the best thing for anxiety attacks. I know when I'm anxious my breathing gets really shallow. I also found that if I don't fight the anxiety attack and just ride it out they begin to subside. It takes the fear of them away. A (SRI) Seritonin Reuptake Inhibitor med such as Lexapro might help as well. I know it did for me. Good luck!
Avatar n tn If anyone knows if this can still be from anxiety/panic attacks or soemthing more serious please tell me
Avatar n tn I took dinnitel for about 2 weeks and lost 10 pounds, but I started having anxiety attacks. The last episode left me in the hospital over night, I felt like a mad woman. My speech was slurred and I was aware of what was going on. Very Scary. You will lose weight but at what cost. I'm sure this wont happen to everyone that take dinnitel but do you really want to find out> I would not reccommend anyone to take this.
Avatar f tn I am so sorry you are going through the anxiety. I was on Paxil with all three of my pregnancies as there is no way that I could have done it without medication. None of my babies had any issues with me being on it whatsoever. Please however avoid the xanax while pregnant as it is not a safe drug at all. You need to see your doctor or even Obs and tell them how you are feeling.
Avatar m tn And apart from this have no other medical problems. Also before this incident I went to the gym 2-3 times a week. I have taken cocaine and mdma several times (not since the incident) and in december, I had been taking both mdma and cocaine, and quite alot of it too, when i felt a bit tight in the left side of my chest. I suddenly had a really bad radiating pain from my chest and my head felt extremely dizzy. I thought I was having a heart attack but my friends convinced my otherwise.
Avatar m tn I had anxiety and panic attacks and was on meds ativan buspar, and citrapolom. I take nothing now and do not have any panic attacks. I takes a little time to heal but you will.

Avatar m tn Hi I am not sure whether I suffer from Anxiety attacks and I would appreciate any help? I have always suffered from spots but about 10yr ago I went to gym and never had a wash to later in the day; I got up in the morning and my forehead was covered in tiny spots which freaked me out. It left me paranoid about sweating and during the summer months I would do nothing incase I started to sweat.
