anxiety

Avatar m tn For 2 weeks now I could think to myself, "I know what this is and stop! We are not doing this right now!" and that would work, but for some reason it didn't work today and I think I know why. I gave in.....Leave work, go home take medication, lay down. <-----This, I wholeheartedly believe made it get worse.
Avatar m tn Panic attacks are in no way harmful to your health. They will not have any effect on your cardio system and pose no threat to your health what so ever. Many people get panic attacks when they smoke pot, but its not a reason to quit. Try to tell yourself your are going to be fine before you smoke amd try to enjoy your high. Do not sit there and think OH NO a panic attacks is coming I know it. Relax and do not worry about it.
Avatar f tn Seeing how you said that you have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression, it sure sounds alot like a panic/anxiety attack to me. What you are describing is what happens during one of these; that is why they often refer to it as panic attacks. Panic and anxiety are definately interelated in my opinion.
Avatar n tn Yes, it sounds like a panic disorder to me. What is making you feel this way? What are you worrying about?
1194973 tn?1385503904 Is it possible to just get a anxiety attack out of nowhere? It's weird what I get and I'm not even sure if they are anxiety attacks. My chest starts to hurt really bad and it's like a stabbing pain, and I feel like I can't breathe. Whenever I try to it feels like there's huge bands around my chest that prevent me from taking in a breath. I also start to hyperventilate and shake and just overall feel weak--like I'm getting over a flu.
Avatar f tn t know it was social anxiety until about 6 months ago, I just thought it was me. Over the past year or so I have been getting anxiety and panic attacks which are taking over my life, i dont know what braught them on but its really starting to scare me...
Avatar f tn focus on one sound in the room and just block everything else out.....also google anxiety attacks and see what you can find out how to deal with it....hope that helps some...it DOES get better tho...i had issues at work and they only hit when i was there really ....when i got home didn't have them really...keep up the good work ladies!!
Avatar f tn I feel as though I am going to lose my mind . I am not like how I was before . I am wondering what can I do to help me feel better without the help of a shrink ? .
Avatar f tn It does sound like classic anxiety and panic attacks. What's funny about anxiety is that you really have no idea when it will strike and it is usually when you feel everything is fine. It sounds like you have had everything checked out thoroughly so have you thought about asking to speak to a therapist? I know it stinks being on meds, but if you need them now, it doesn't mean you will need them forever. My anxiety started after the birth of my 2nd daughter.
Avatar f tn I suffer from panic attacks on a daily basis, is this your first? I a found keeping busy helps a lot and late night walks to clear your mind are the best. As for pain when your in labor you can get many different pain medications so don't sweat it, your body nows what it's doing. Good luck! I'm due in 6 days!
900948 tn?1242022037 i take xanax as well but not everyday, have to be careful of addiction issues. sounds like you are having severe anxiety over having another attack, i know that too well also. you just have to take one attack at a time. i worry i'm going to have one out in public, and i have. i just try to take one step at a time and make sure i have a quick escape plan from where ever i'm going.
Avatar f tn First off, I hope that you've read what others are telling you...Do not stop taking these meds abruptly - you can experience many difficult withdrawal symptoms - both psychological as well as medical. That's a key point. Secondly, are you under the care of a psychiatrist or did another specialty diagnose and treat you? The seroquel should be managed only by a psychiatrist - and a well qualified one, too. The whole class of drugs - the antipsychotics - should only be used when necessary.
Avatar n tn Anxiety attacks, are by their very nature, the body's fear response. The fearful idea is what is missing from the equation, and that's what you have to discover to really get over this. Medications can help, but they only suppress this further. I would strongly suggest that you see a therapist with the very specific goal of discovering the internal fear idea tha tis causing this problem..When you do that, it will stop.
Avatar m tn everytime i hear loud shouting or angry or emotionally depressed or have seen a news which involved death even on cartoons or in reading flash news on tv it seems i felt this sensation beginning from my stomach then from my feet up then shortness of breth as if my body is trying to regulate my breathing, i felt this sensation that their is going something to happen to me, that is why i always pay attention to my heartrate and breathing, i dont know if their is really something wrong inside me or
Avatar m tn Lexapro, Cymbalta, Prozac the list goes on and on. But only a psychiatrist can determine what is best for you. It really doesn't matter what others are on, or how they are doing on it. What works for one, doesn't for another.
Avatar m tn So when I dont notice it now, I obviously think of the worse. When theres no need to worry. And I guess that anxiety right? What are the chances for my heart just to suddenly stop without any stress? Yes I know there is a chance I can have a heart attack, but at the age of 19? I doubt that a bit. I just really want to feel better, and feel like myself. Continue with what I did before.
Avatar f tn But medication is usually a last resort and they will prescribe you meds that are safe for you and the baby. Anxiety attacks are no joke while being pregnant it stresses the baby out because he/she knows you are not feeling well so being as calm as possible will always make it pass a lot faster. I hope my advice works & good luck.
Avatar f tn i am so sorry that you are having problems with anxiety but please do not think that are crazy, you are from that. i have been going through the same, the bad thought popping up in my head, coming between me and my faith, even the thoughts of hurting love ones, that scared me so bad, i call a doctor and i have been seeing her for last two weeks and so far i am little bet better with the breathing techniques that she recommended that i do when i feel a panic or even when i do not.
Avatar f tn I am a Nursing Student with two kids (2 and 8) and married. I have been having so called "panic attacks" like every other day. I feel all sorts of symptoms, chest tightness, shivering, rapid heart beat, weak arms and legs and neck. I have had an Echo and Stress test and both were ok. Plus nothing significant in my blood work. I am a runner and consider myself pretty fit. Lately these attacks have really been getting to me. The scariest part is when I feel I can't breathe.
Avatar f tn Are there any over the counter meds that I can take daily at home for anxiety attacks. I have at least two attacks every day, but I have no insurance to go to a doctor for a prescription med.
Avatar f tn I too have taken Klonopin for the occasional anxiety. There are lots of meds like it but Klonopin is a little different because it takes longer to take effect and it lasts allot longer. If I am feeling really anxious I can take a 1/2 of one (.25mg) and I don't feel any side effects. I have had a prescription for over 10 years and I maybe take 5-10 a year, just knowing I have them to take if I need too can stop me from feeling anxious.
Avatar f tn Have you been to the doctors? if you were to describe the pain would you say it is like an unbarelible burning? a Sharp, stabing pain? Do you lose your breath? do you vomit? do you have any stomach discomfort? Does it come after you eat? Please describe in more detail.
