Anti depression medication kids

Common Questions and Answers about Anti depression medication kids

Avatar n tn I'm not familiar with how many anti-depression medications that a person can take at one time and why they would be. Currently this person is taking Trazodone (100mg), Celexa (40mg), and Buspirone HCL (15mg). After looking up each of these medications I see that two are for anti-depression and one for antianxiety. I originally thought this person was just taking sleeping pills at night. This person instantly falls to sleep and doesn't move all night.
Avatar f tn My question is can some of the lack of interest in doing anything be due to depression and not possible MS itself? Would anti depressants help? Has anyone gone through these kind of feelings and what did you do for help?
Avatar f tn Read up on the medication. The ER doctor I saw when I found out I was pregnant (we didn't think we could have kids so it was the last thought on my mind when I had symptoms) prescribed me an anti nausea medicine only for me to look it up & see all the stuff it can do to a baby. No thanks! Do research yourself!
Avatar n tn How to deal with depression when your pregnant? I have two kids and a third on the way. We were suppose to be getting married! Our kids being an official family. He was cheating all alone. Now, he's angry and left. I'm at high risk because of complete placenta previa. So, I'm off work until my placenta either shifts or I go into labor. What do I do? Help me!
233622 tn?1279338505 Just having a chronic illness like MS can cause depression. MS and depression can go hand in hand. I was on anti-depressants most of my life, due to what I think was a bad marriage. I finally went off of them when I got divorced 4 years ago. Just a month ago, I began to get depressed again and started back on a low dose of an anti-depressant. I finally feel "normal" again. I am also following it up with the counseling.
Avatar n tn We have had our relationship problems and trials in raising kids, but I truly believe that some people's brains just don't make the right chemicals which causes depression. At times though, situations do make the depression worse. The worst part is not always knowing what really causes and triggers it. I wish I din't have to rely on meds, but I guess I came to that realization with this recent trial and error of trying to do it without.
Avatar f tn the thing about a utopia is that people would still find something to complain about and we really cant appreciate the good without the bad. I wonder if we can teach depression by being depressed around our kids, or is it really genetic for those who have a family history of it.
647391 tn?1275020233 I stacked about 3 of them on my desk for about 30-45 minutes a day in the morning. And anti-depressants can be very helpful with depression. There are many millions of people taking anti-depressants who no longer need a therapist. So maybe you need a different doctor as well. I wish you the best.
Avatar f tn Once you have the baby, monitor that closely and take medication again if you drift to depression as post partum is a hard time for some women. If there is anything I can do to help, I always here.
458072 tn?1291418786 I have read on some of these posts that antidepressants can interfere with the thyroid medication and absorption. Due to the mental anguish that has been brought about by the insomnia, being med induced into hyperthyroidism(meds then adjusted), and the hypothyroid disease itself and all that comes with it, I started taking prozac.
Avatar n tn HI My sister is 39 yrs old from last 2 yrs she has been into medidation vigrously ,after which she started to become very reserved not talking much, about six months while she was in medidation camp she felt she was spirtually connected to man(the man was real but i dont think he loved her , she is married and with 2 kids 16 and 14 )she was ready to leave husband and kids .
Avatar n tn I know for me when I was on Lexapro my sex drive vanished completely and I felt like your wife did, like I wouldn't care if we never had sex again. So yes, that can have a huge factor. In addition, her weight gain may be attributing for her and I agree with the above poster who recommended counseling for her but I would take it a step further and recommend you go as well and do some couples therapy.
Avatar m tn old male that has had varying stages of depression for yrs. After trying at least 7 different anti-depressants over the last 7+ yrs that did not help, I had my testosterone level checked. I found that my testosterone level was low, but in the "normal" range. One thing about the testo ranges is that some people have almost 10 times as much, but all seem to be "normal" numbers. That just did not seem right to me, so I talked my MD into taking self injections of testosterone.
180483 tn?1229532768 I go to the dr tomorrow for what I'm guessing is postpartum depression and I'm worried about any meds they might put me on affecting my breast milk. My DD will NOT take formula and when she does she projectile vomits so it's VERY important that I keep bf-ing her. Does anybody know how anti-depressants affect breast milk?
Avatar f tn Anyone on anti anxiety medication? Or have been for prior pregnancies? I'm 23 weeks and I'm so worried about a lot of things making me sick (I also struggle with OCD and it has gotten really bad the last couple months, I spend a lot of time washing my hands). The worst thing for me is that we've had a cat living with us for the last three months and I am terrified of toxoplasmosis and it has really ruined me as far as my anxiety goes... gahh...
2010625 tn?1329375656 HI , I haven't had many issue's with med's myself but my mother is the same as you , i didn't read all the effect's different med's had on you but i do know that my mum she can hardly take anything including most pain medication anti depressant's , mood stabilizer's aswell as anti psychotics , nothing agree's with her and she's not a real big woman either .
559992 tn?1216173338 It's been getting worse lately and my Dr just wants to get the medication for my depression leveled out first, but mean while I'm in pain. He's given me some slow release paracetamol, but it barely takes the edge off. I've been using Panadene (Paracetamol & Codene), it helps, but I have to take way to much in a day to get pain relief and I end up with indigestion if I take to much Codine, not to mention constipation. I'm going to see a naturopath on thursday to sus out a number of things.
Avatar f tn How many of you ladies have/had postpartum depression and did you take medication for it or try and "ride-it-out"? What were your symptoms and how long did they last? Ive definitely been having bouts of depression and feelings of being overwhelmed - yesterday I was in Walmart and called hubby to ask about an item and he asked me to get something else and I suddenly felt overwhelmed and like I was going to cry! LOL.
377493 tn?1356505749 When he was 7 weeks old I was diagnosed with post partum depression and was put on the drug cypralix. It was pretty severe and had manifested itself in severe anxiety. Since being on the drug I am feeling far better, much more like my old self. The problem is my son's pediatrician would prefer I not nurse on this med. I talked to the prescribing Dr. and his opinion is that I am responding so well to this drug that he would prefer not to change it.
Avatar n tn My wife constantly accuses me of sleeping around when Im at home all the time cleaning up and taking care of the kids. Im working a temporary job and have yet to be hired on full time yet, so my wife is taking care of 80% of the bills and its not fair to her. I work thrid shift so Im constantly tired all the time. It feels like I will never have the energy others have and Im only 27yrs old.
354706 tn?1279474395 Thank you for your insights too. I would always remember your chemo example - sometimes it is the medication/depression speaking and not the REAL person speaking.
Avatar n tn hi- i,m new to this forum. Can anybody tell me why the depression i feel whilst detoxing from tramadol is so severe when i am prescribed and take regular paxil for depression.
Avatar f tn Hey Everybody, I wanted to send an update on getting help for my depression. As of today 4-16-2012 I am still having a horrible time getting anytype of help. I have called my insurance company on numerous occassions to find a doctor that treats adults using ECT. So far I have just got a big run around, they give me the names of doctors and of course they do not treat adults with ECT. I am just about at the end of my rope with these people that work for my insurance company.
Avatar n tn i was wondering if there is a anti-depressant that is great for manic depression and to loose my depression weight. when i am depressed or stressed i eat until i feel sick. i am in serious need for help. please help me. i am not sure what meds could help my situation!
Avatar n tn I am a mom of two adorable boys but I have in the past (and presently) suffer from depression. Getting through my last two pregnancys without meds was extremely difficult. While on meds I can say (without bragging too much) that I am a great mom (as great as any mom can be - we all have our days). Depression like everything else is a disease and it is horrible. I LOVE kids. I want SO MUCH to have another child.
Avatar f tn I used to spell OK, but now it is getting worse. But I don't worry about it, or think it is due to my medication. What anti-depressant are you on?
190559 tn?1280615967 We took her out of school in Feb. due to severe anxiety and some depression related to Graves, and she has been doing a bit of homework through a homebound tutor. Last month the endo. clinic told me that since my daughter was now hypo and no longer hyper, she was OK to go back to school...but this eval. does not match reality. She does fine at home and at church, but she has dropped all of her friends, sleeps a lot during the day, and has an extremely low tolerance for stress.
Avatar n tn Is there evidence that a healthier diet and exercise can alleive symptoms of depression and anxiety? I'm so torn about taking medication at this point, and looking for an alternative. Thanks!
