adhd

Avatar n tn it's simply that while working at the comp, I constatly have to make breaks and escape from the task, it's difficult for me to work even for 5 minutes without such short escape. I can open the same web pages over and over again although nothing has changed there since last time. Obviously I'm disappointed then that nothing has changed. Sometimes I promise myself to work without interruptions until finish a specific fragment, and in a moment I find myself in a kitchen or web-mining.
303824 tn?1294875001 For school work: 1. Children with ADD hate school. They will do anything to avoid doing homework because it is hard, they don't get it, and it takes a long time (people with ADD tend to take about twice as long to do the same work as someone without it) a. Keep in constant contact with the teachers. i.e.
1063463 tn?1302278219 Dear deebrown30, The symptoms that u have listed really seem to be just like mine. I have been miserable for a while with these symptoms. I feel unbalanced, blurry vision at times, very weak muscles, muscle spasms, leg pain(esp. under the knees hurt, muscles disapearing like rings around my legs),my eyes I tend to close one sometimes and don't even realize it. My mom said I was talking to her one day and one of my eyes were closed and I was unaware of it.It really spooked me.

1453183 tn?1287852619 This may not answer your question about schooling, but have you tried natural approaches for treating ADD / ADHD? First make sure to eliminate any foods that may contain pesticides from the diet. They have been linked to ADD / ADHD. Supplements that may help are fish oil, flax seed oil, DL-phenylalanine or tyrosine, and SAM-E. Also make sure that your child is eating a balanced diet (try to eliminate processed or unhealthy foods such as sodas, sugary cereals, etc) and getting plenty of exercise.
12654249 tn?1439951416 In my second trimester those symptoms went away and I didn't really have symptoms other than wanting to eat a lot. I started to carry low and more pointed to the front also. Now in my 3rd trimester I am finally gaining weight but I have started to get mad and moody a lot more and I feel like I could sleep all day. I crave cheesecake now as well.
Avatar m tn I am a 26 year old mother of two boys. I have battled depression since I was a teen and recently was told I have adult add. I find myself not really wanting to ever go any where or do anything and I am very irritable. I feel like a horrible mother and like I am not doing what other mothers whom seem to have it all do. I love my kids very much. I find myself constantly wondering what if this happens what if that happens. I seem to worry about everything actually.
Avatar f tn Hello, age 13 is such a tough one for boys, particularly when they have a disability. I would be very surprised if he truly does not care that he can not be successful in school and make you proud of him--take that pre-teen bravado with a BIG grain of salt. Kids with ADHD and learning disabilities often choose to fail on purpose because they worry that they are too dumb to learn. To a teenage boy, being seen as a rebel can be a lot more attractive than being seen as dumb.
Avatar f tn It has been frustrating over the years and a struggle in every aspect of my life, even telling my family and friends I was seeing a shrink for ADD...well they were far from supportive, laughing as if i was crazy! I do work in the accounting field after all I couldn't possibly have ADD! am glad to hear that more adults are being diagnosed without symptoms as a child. i won't tell me shrink though, he seems to think he knows everything!

865817 tn?1255285681 //jeffsaddmind.com/for-first-time-visitors. Both sites are done by people with ADD. totallyadd was actually a PBS special and consequently is a series of short videos. Quite entertaining and useful. Jeffs add mind really reflects him. Has much more adult interaction. Both are worth checking out. Anyway, thanks for your post.
Avatar n tn ) It helps to know exactly what you are dealing with (if anything, I might add----- as boys ---- and girls at times----- can be pretty wacky). Being born at 26 weeks puts your son at a much greater risk of developmental delays. It also means that he is actually younger than his years suggest (and more immature). I would try to read about ADD/ADHD and sensory as much as you can to arm yourself with information.
Avatar f tn EEG and although he didn't have a seizure that was visible, spikes were detected. That being the case we're both being admitted for a video-EEG this coming week for 4 days! My son has these when asleep or awake. He never knows when they're coming on & has injured himself already a few times from falls. He does not lose conciousness, but does lose awareness. After it's over (2-5 min), he slowly returns to business-as-usual.
Avatar f tn I'm still trying to find the right dose for me. There is a TON of wrong info out there about ADD medication, so I'll do my best to give you useful (and correct) info. First, as far as side effects, stimulants are relatively safe, believe it or not. It's kind of odd that they get such a bad wrap. As long as he doesn't have a heart problem, it should be quite safe. The only thing I know of that you should really watch for is his height/weight.
Avatar n tn Let me take a moment to tell you something about my 15 and 17 year old sons ( I have 3 boys and only one of them hasn't had symptoms yet) but they suffer from a weird kind of migraine headache. Both have had MRI's and CAT scans and their insides are very healthy and the dr said there was nothing showing up that shouldn't have showed up; their tests were normal. But both of them have auaras (not sure of the spelling) and both tend to lose the vision in one eye.
Avatar f tn New testing was done and will get results this week, but as for now it is Adhd and possible aspergers.Concerta was for adhd and the zoloft was prescribed because he gets vocal tics on stimulants. Not the best choice but it is what I guess needs to be done otherwise we have nothing to help with hyperactivity. Have asked dr. about other meds, but doesn't seem to offer anything else. I don't know that meds is the only answer.
Avatar f tn This is my 3rd pregnancy and I've Never had symptoms so soon...I am only 4 Weeks pregnant and I've been having symptoms for the last 3 weeks! Nausea & breast tenderness started first but have been consistent. I've had cramping and mood swings, watery mouth, can't sleep, frequent urination, Then feeling fatigue and ALWAYS wanting to eat! I have gained 2 lbs in the last 3 weeks and my stomach feels like a bottomless pit! I am never full!
Avatar f tn By the way, I can't believe that I’m actually on one of these discussion sites, I was just looking for solutions to my problem, and hope to stop you before you create one for yourself. Regardless of the fact that I am anonymous, I want you to listen because I hope to save people from this terrible addiction one day; I hope to save lots of people.
Avatar n tn For example, sometimes after I sneeze my neck starts to twitch for a few seconds. Or if I flex my calves then it starts to twitch for a few seconds. Despite these symptoms, I am still able to do intense physical exercise (playing sports, lifting heavy weights at the gym, etc). These muscle spasm episodes are especially prominent late at night when I am tired or when my body is at rest.
Avatar f tn So the neurologist who diagnosed postpartum anxiety prescribed Ametriptylene and that is definitely the best for my symptoms - although it hasn't gotten rid of the muscle twitching, I do feel much better generally. The dizziness and muscle weakness started at 5 weeks and resolved a lot when I stopped breastfeeding, which was at 12 weeks. So i've had almost 5 weeks of neither of those symptoms. I dont get the hot flashes either - maybe only a couple and very mild.
Avatar n tn I have seen a mental professional for my anxiety but it is elevated because I have a wife and we are expecting next year and nothing upsets me more than if I could have HIV and miss out on the birth of my child. This has been a great lesson in life. I know you are not here for support and I understand this so I do not expect anything other than your professional opinion.
Avatar n tn Sorry don't have much positive things to say...the symptoms are that bad...LOL Sorry, but my view is the stronger the symptoms the stronger the pregnancy. I had a 1.5 hr commute to work oneway everyday and carried a puke cup with me in the car every morning....used it all the time...LOL I had a horrible pregnancy 2 yrs ago....constant nausea and vomiting for the first 12 weeks....then it all subsided...so the good news is you MAY only have 6-7 weeks to go....
Avatar n tn Has anyone had any success finding a cause for these symptoms? My daughter has the same problems; constipation and very foul smelling urine. She is now 18 months old and has had the constipation problem sense birth (literally) and has added the foul smelling urine symptom within the last 6 months. She has been tested for a UTI and that came back negative. She has also been tested for a metabolic disorder and that too came back normal.
Avatar n tn Perhaps you should see a therapist AND a psychiatrist for the "right" medication for you. When our son first began showing signs of ADD and depression, among other emotional symptons, he put on medications by our family physician. That was a disaster after following the doctor's recommendation to increase the medication or decrease it. We decided that since our family doctor did not specialize in this area, we thought we had better get help from a psychiatrist.
Avatar f tn im never quite sure what symptoms she gets as i have a feeling shes had weird symptoms for most of her life and she has just thought they were the norm !! ....i know her leg pains sometimes bother her when shes tired and she ocasionally says ants are crawling up her legs ..but she has very rarely complained of a headache.she is quite an inspiration . thx for all your kind words .
Avatar n tn he does have adhd and is now on med but this is our first month, but he has been like this for yrs. im like you with the big family. i have 2 boys and 4 step children that i have 95 % of the time.
1216899 tn?1288573925 It has not been a fun ride for me. I have been experiencing most of these symptoms for the last 6 years, and the painful ones for the last 3 years.I am certain I have left out some symptoms, but who could remember them all. I hope this helps someone with similar problems. Good luck, remember 85% of Americans are Deficient of Vitamin D, it's only a simple blood draw to discover the problem.
