Avatar m tn com/womens-reproductive-health/menstrual-cycle/reasons-behind-irregular-periods/ Significant weight gain or weight loss is one of the reasons for irregular periods. Even though low body weight is the most common cause of irregular periods, obesity (obesity effects)also causes various interruptions in your regular menstrual cycle. If you are a victim of severe emotional stress, then you can possibly experience irregular or missed periods.
Avatar m tn ve been a little nauseous, I almost passed out in a class because of an open heart surgery video (I never usually get sick from that). Then starting about a week ago, I've noticed an excess amount of stringy clear discharge, sharp pains in my right and left side. On my back and where my ovaries are. And starting yesterday, I've noticed an excess amount of bleeding in my underwear. It looks, smells, and feels (gross, I know. But I'm desperate) like regular period blood.
Avatar f tn Over the age of 40, it may be due to the menopause and not having a period for 3 years will mean that your menstrual cycle days are finished. Still see your doctor though to make sure that your period have stopped because of the menopause.
Avatar m tn My breasts have been sore for weeks, and I am not talking slightly sore like before a menstrual cycle but extremely sore. I have to continuously wear a sports bra and when I am in the shower I have to prop them up and the water hitting them is painful. There is in NO WAY that I am pregnant, seeing that I don't have sex with men. I am 23. I don't have a regular menstrual cycle because I have a slightly higher testosterone level than what is considered normal.
Avatar n tn Hello, Multiple menstrual periods in a month are due to polymenorrhea. Polymenorrhea or bleeding from vagina more than once a month could be due to several causes such fibroids, adenomyosis, endometriosis, uterine polyps, hormonal imbalance, thyroid problems and bleeding disorders. It could also be due to an IUD implant if you have one or due to oral contraceptive pills. It can also be a part of severe pelvic inflammatory disorder. STDs like Chlamydia and gonorrhea too can cause this.

767848 tn?1234859483 I was trying to find the period/menstrual forums, but I guess this site doesn't have one,so I decided to post here in the pregnancy forums, since alot of ladies may had this same issue. Since Nov. I had have my period every 22 days. Will it go back to normal from before I had my child ( 3 years 5 months ago)? I used to have my period every 28 days. Well, I am asking because I haven't had my period yet,and it's on the 26th day. Should I wait two more days and see if it comes on?
Avatar f tn If you were my patient, I would suspect that some of the symptoms are unrelated to each other. It does sound like you might have menstrual migraines. The changes in the menstrual cycle could certainly be a result of weight loss. The groin pain is difficult to judge. Possibly an infection somewhere? If you were my patient, I would also tell you that you should come in for a thorough check up to try to put the whole picture together. Good luck!
Avatar f tn If you are spotting for a whole week before your normal periods, then this can be because of hormonal issues, or local problems like cervical erosion etc. Consult your Doctor. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I would also like to add that most women over the age of 45 who receive chemotherapy such as yours, will become amenorrheic (meaning that menstrual periods will stop). For many, this cessation of menstrual periods will represent permanent menopause but a minority will have return of menstruation either regular or irregular in the future.I have read that some women restarted menstruation 2 years or more after completing Chemotherapy.

Avatar f tn sometime periods get irregular dont worry it you dont have your periods for 6 months than you shud worry other wise its normal.
Avatar n tn I agree that virginity is something to be proud of. It is normal to have periods irregularly at 16, especially if you don't have a lot of body fat and/or are going through a stressful time. If you don't see it for 6 months, see your ob-gyn, maybe get a workup. All the best to you!
Avatar f tn Hello, This irregularity in periods is due to PCOS. The menstrual irregularities of PCOS are accompanied by a lack of ovulation, so affected women may experience infertility. An increase in the production of androgens (male hormones) by the ovaries in PCOS may result in excess hair growth in areas suggesting a male pattern, known as hirsutism.
