Multiple menstrual periods one month

Common Questions and Answers about Multiple menstrual periods one month

Avatar n tn Hello, Multiple menstrual periods in a month are due to polymenorrhea. Polymenorrhea or bleeding from vagina more than once a month could be due to several causes such fibroids, adenomyosis, endometriosis, uterine polyps, hormonal imbalance, thyroid problems and bleeding disorders. It could also be due to an IUD implant if you have one or due to oral contraceptive pills. It can also be a part of severe pelvic inflammatory disorder. STDs like Chlamydia and gonorrhea too can cause this.
Avatar n tn for the last 3 months I have had 2 periods a month. The first one is normal, and then 2-5 days after this finishes, I get another one, with no pain which lasts 1-2 days. I have recently been to see my Doctor who noticed my blood pressure is also very high. (I am slightly overweight but my BP is usually low, if anything)!! I have to go back for a full bloodwork in 2 weeks. I suddenly feel very lucky to be in the UK & to get all of my healthcare for free.
Avatar n tn In June, it was bigger still - by July, it was slightly smaller - but now an even bigger one appeared on the right ovary. We talked about laproscopic removal - but the doc talked me into one more month of wait and see. Had an u/s this morning - left one is smaller, but still present - right one is bigger - and now there are 5 additional small ones on the left that were not there last month.
Avatar f tn I'vr always had irregular periods. I am 18 years old. I am a recovering heroin addict. While in my addiction I would not have it. Once I stopped it took 3-4 months to get it again. This has happened multiple times. I am 120 days clean now. About 2 months ago, I started it. The blood was almost black. It lasted 5 days then went away. About 3 dayd later I started again, this time for about 8 days. Since itt started 2 months ago, i've haf it 6 times. Only a couple days between each one.
Avatar n tn I am 38 years old. I have never had a regular period. Maybe one or two cycles a year. I was able to have a baby about 8 years ago with the help of provera and clomid. We tried again 2 years ago but no luck. I'm not to worried about having another child, but I am worried about the fact I don't have a reg. cycle. I have all the symptoms of a period but with no blood. The older I get the more this concerns me. Both of my sisters had to have hysterectomies before the age of 30.

Avatar f tn A person with MS may have a baseline of symptoms which vary some depending on the circumstances. One of those circumstances in the menstrual cycle with its ups and downs of estrogen. Certainly, just before the period and during it, many, if not most, women with MS state that their level of symptoms increases. This also includes wide swings in moods whcih can be seen both in MS of both sexes and in women with their cycles.
1147609 tn?1263587031 I used to be regular as clock work then I went 28 months of an average of 21 days a month bleeding. I was having at least two full periods with symptoms like PMS a month. I even had an endometrial ablation and I still went on like that four eight months. For the first time in 29 months I have now gone over 30 days with no bleeding. None of my doctors have an answer. Little is known about drug combinations and a woman's cycle. People with MS are often on many different medication.
Avatar n tn It didn't take us but about a month of trying to find out we were pregnant the last time. So hopefully this one won't take too long either. Lets just hope it doesn't end the same way :( Good luck to you all!
Avatar n tn Im still having my cycle but I swear to god the one I pulled out was from last month! I had weird spotting all in between these two periods of dried blood and I was worried and wondering what was wrong with me but now I know why! Thank god. 5856747 tn?1403352282 Irregular Menstrual Periods. Most women of child bearing age have between 10 and 12 menstrual cycles every year. This may be considered the “normal” but that is not to say that it has to be the normal for you. You may have only 6 to 8 periods per year and that is your “normal” and should be nothing to worry about. It is just how you are.
Avatar n tn So, when one thing wants to act up, the other parts that are vagus connected can get into the act also. I am going back on the Nexium tomorrow. I hate these PVC's. Well wishes to both of you.
801413 tn?1333542876 I've been on metformin for almost a month (trying to regulate periods to get pregnant) and I'm on cd 81. Thinking of stopping it. While I am on metformin because of TTC there is no way I am pregnant cause I haven't had sex or anything close to it since December and have had multiple ultrasounds from January to March for cysts.
Avatar n tn 47 year old, premenopausal. After having regular and uneventful periods all my life, started having extremely heavy periods, lasting 2 weeks or more. This was about two and a half years ago.I was also having a lot of pain on my left side at all times of the month. Finally went to the doctor who ordered us. It showed 2 cysts (they didn't say what kind) and a 2cm fibroid inside my uterus. After waiting 4 months so see a gynecologist, she said all my blood work was fine, except iron was only 15.
Avatar n tn My period comes faithfully the first week of every month usually the 2nd. The 26th I was lightly bleeding but it was only the one time I wipped but then the next day I was bleeding again but very light. The bleeding has stopped and my period hasn't started yet. What could this be from? The night before this happend my husband & I had sex but he was "going in deep". Could that be the cause?
Avatar n tn I've learned not to stress over them because I've had a tranesophigeal echocardiogram and 2 external echo's (one last month) and my heart was normal. I have learned that the heart, when in good shape, is a very reliable organ (muscle). Just like other muscles you need to work it out. I have been lazy for a while since I was diagnose with chostocondritis, but I am going to start again soon. They say the best way to get a fast heart rate down is to make it go fast through exercise.

Avatar f tn I am not one to ever get headaches but the past month I am getting headaches quite often. As far as nausea, I really haven't been nausiated recently, but on and off I was feeling sick to my stomach in the past month. I get tired easily. My breasts were really sore back when I was expecting my first missed period, for about a week or two, but they don't really feel sore now. They feel a little heavy but thats about it.
603463 tn?1220630455 It is believed that the high levels of progesterone in the ovary which produced the follicle prevent maturation of new follicles in the same ovary--in other words, if right ovary ovulated this month then left ovary will ovulate next month. The UTERINE LINING, under the influence of high progesterone levels, has stopped thickening and started maturing in preparation to receive the embryo (if any).
Avatar n tn I have had irregular periods for a couple of years now, with no apparent cause, along with multiple other symptoms. (I'm only 42). I recently lost a dear friend to ovarian cancer and when I described to her what was happening with me lately, she made me promise to go get checked out. Well, she was right. I had an t/v ultrasound done on 11/1 which showed: "The left ovary is enlarged and appears replaced by multiple cysts, with thick, somewhat irregular intervening septations.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your question. Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern. I can understand your worrying concern about long term migraine headaches that may be most likely reason of your present symptoms and no sure success treatments that you have tried.
Avatar n tn They checked all my hormone levels and she said they were normal, and about one month ago when they did the u/s she said i had multiple follicles.. I have no reason to not ovulate, my periods have been regular for the past five years. I have gained ten pounds, even though i eat less because everything doesnt sound appealing, I get nauseous during the middle of the day along with hot flashes and dizziness. My boobs grew a cup size within two weeks.. I got yeast infection two weeks ago.
Avatar n tn term for a syndrome which has symptoms like extra hair growth, irregular menstrual periods, infertility, insulin insensitivity, weight gain, multiple tiny cysts on the ovaries when seen on ultrasound etc. PCOS is likely the cause of your elevated DHEAS and Prolactin levels as well as the ratio of LH to FSH that you already noted. One thing to mention--your progesterone is actually low (not high) and that is consistent with anovulation (no ovulating) and would go along with no periods.
Avatar f tn Any of the above symptoms and signs may be absent in PCOS, with the exception of irregular or no menstrual periods. All women with PCOS will have irregular or no menstrual periods. Women who have PCOS do not regularly ovulate; that is, they do not release an egg every month. This is why they do not have regular periods and typically have difficulty conceiving.
Avatar f tn Sometimes the pain and bleeding are so significant that one considers a hysterectomy. It is perfectly safe to wait a month to chat with your doctor about this. You could also bring in a pain diary where you document every day where your pain is and when your periods are to see if there is any relation to menstruation. That will really help your doctor out in understanding if your pain is related to a gyn cause.
