I have been feeling badly lately - poor appetite, hard to concentrate - forgetfulness, more freguent migraine headaches (are headaches increased when TSH is high?) and poor sleeping (only 5-6 hrs a day) Those symptoms caused me to feel depressed. Another Dr gave me Lexapro (my sister takes it and swears it helps her). I took it and felt worse - even more down and immediately weaned myself off (without dr's ok). I feel so much happier since going off Lexapro.

If your symptoms are hormonal in nature, they don't have to actually BE PMDD, it was just one example. It sounds very much like your cycles exacerbate your anxiety.

That's how I started to feel after about 20 or 22 weeks im 28 weeks and 5 day's now and my appetite has subsided now but I've gained about 15 pounds lol

s been going on with me for the past 5 weeks on Lexapro, basically that im still anxious and depressed and feel like a zombie. My 6 week follow up is on tuesday but decided to call him today and he told me to go down to 5mg. To be honest i'm somewhat doscouraged after talking to him. I feel that i need to up my dosage rather than lower it. I feel that by lowering it, it will give me more anxiety and send me in deeper depression. Any thoughts?

Side effects of the remeron I experienced made me very drowsy as well as an increased appetite at night. I excerices 5 days a week so the increased appetite I could handle. The drowsiness took its toll on me. I decided to go back to Lex w the help of Cialis to combat my ED issues. This is going to get too expensive. I dont think this is the solution and I;m not looking to increase pills either. Would adjusting the dosage on Remeron have an effect on those side effects.

with just wellbutrin. my dr told me if that doesnt work than he suggested lexapro (mood stabilizer) and i know mood stabilizers cause intense weight gain.

He sleeps constantly, has very little appetite (if any at all), and is in constant pain. Recently the hospice staff put him on morphine. His appetite has picked up just a bit. When I asked about it the nurse said morphine is known to increase a person's appetite. Is this true???

I get depressed once in awhile and yes I am pretty stressed working 60 hours a week and the lexapro has certainly helped with that..and I YAWN!! all the time! LOL! I am tired as well but am waiting to see if that passes..it's only been a few days and I am so hoping it works on migraines....thank you again.

Quite often, it is not uncommon for people suffering from depression and anxiety to lose a lot of weight because of suppressed appetite. Have you been eating regularly? Remember, that medications like Lexapro can take a month or so to 'kick in.' How long have you been dealing with anxiety? Sorry to ask so many questions..just trying to get a better picture. I started at 25mg and I am currently at 100 mg. I have been on the 100mg a day dose for 5 days and my anxiety has increased significantly and I am having trouble sleeping. The Zoloft has always made me feel wired, but this dosage has really increased my anxiety levels. Will this anxiety increase go away after a few weeks? I also take 300mg of Wellbutrin each day and have for 2 years. Do you think I should lower my Wellbutrin dose or my Zoloft dose or both?

I started 5 mg around 9 Feb, upped to 10 mg around 20 feb, up to 15 mg 11 March and 20 mg 6 April (10 days ago). I have seen improvement in depression but still have anxiety episodes. I also don't feel "normal" yet - so I have improvement but only say 50%. Should I continue a bit longer with the 20 mg. Hi All, I am a 30 year old male suffering from obssessive thoughts, I had a stomach ulcers 6 years back and i use Rabeprazole 20 mg daily as a maintenance therapy, My GP suggested escitalopram (Lexapro 10mg) daily, after 2 weeks using the medicine i feel much better and my thoughts have come down, however 2 weeks into the medication i started having severe stomach burning sensation especially in the upper stomach behind the breast bone and the center of the rib cage, i recognise its the same fee

and if so when do I expect for this increased anxiety to go away ? And did anyone else in here take cipralex for GAD, SAD and PD ? and if so would you be kind enough to tell me if it has helped with these disorders or not ? And when do you start feeling better in general ?

People taking SSRIs like Lexapro can complain about weight gain; and there are many that complain about weight loss. Remember, that anxiety can often lead to depression which in itself can cause weight gain for a viarity of reasons. I actually lost weight while taking an SSRI, but I think it had to do a lot more with a normal exercise routine and watching what I ate.

My doctor called back today and decided to put me on Lexapro rather than Cymbalta. It sounds like it will be a better fit for me because of my anxiety/panic attack problems. Anyone on or been on Lexapro?

HI, just was wondering about an increase dosage of Lexapro. I started at 10 mg and my doctor increased it to 20 mg. I've been taking it for 2 1/2 weeks and have noticed an improvement over the 10 mg. I've been having more good days then bad which is great. Will it take 4 to 6 weeks to receive the full benefit from the Lexapro from the increased dosage? Thanks for the help.

My doc told me to take zantac half hour befroe eating and this will supressthe appetite. and whadda ya know it WORKS!!lol I have been on zyprexa for 7 years and it has been my miracle but I did gain weight and on top that I was hypothryoid. Now I am on synthroid9 thryoidectomy sept 06 and my metabolism is working again I have lost from 225 to 198. so it is possible tyo loose weight while on zyprexa. we just have to work a liitle harder at it.
