fibromyalgia

Avatar f tn You have to allow yourself some treats or any diet will fail. But just in moderation or then your diet will definitely fail. Say, eating a little more or something decadent that you've been craving once every ten days. That would be okay.
Avatar m tn HI...I am working with a Dr on MedHelp for an exercise program for us!! As soon as I know it is doable I will let u all in on it... Now as for a diet, I have a few questions...do u know if u have a thyroid issue? were u checked lately for an autoimmune issue? How about Ehlers-Danlos? Do u ever have issues with IBS? Sorry for the questions, but they will help in answering ur question.
202436 tn?1326474333 Has anyone tried this program/diet as a non-medicinal approach to add/adhd/behavioral problems? If so, what resources have you used. My daughter was diagnosed with dysthymic disorder (depression) with underlying adhd behaviors. I am NOT in favor of medicating a 6 yo and have heard great things about the feingold diet and other elimination diets to pinpoint foods/additives/artificial colorings/flavorings that can trigger allergies and cause unfavorable behaviors.
4856774 tn?1360095016 Any injury can worsen fibromyalgia, so yes, a car crash can be a real set back if you have fibromyalgia. However, aches and pains can also be the direct result of an injury from car crash. So, depending on your symptoms this aspect should be investigated. If your symptoms are due to worsening of fibromyalgia only, then the treatment is a mix and match of analgesics, anti depressants, anti seizure medications, physical therapy and counseling. Please discuss with your doctor. Take care!
Avatar n tn I am 50 years old and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia brought on by menopause. I have gained weight and lost so much muscle. I am so motivated to lose weight but nothing works. I have turned to a vegan lifestyle, walk 2.5 miles a day, religiously count my calories, and drink at least 48 oz of water a day if not more. I lost 1 pound in 2 weeks!!! Can anyone relate to what I am going through and give me some helpful advice...please???
Avatar m tn You get enough of the posions in your body you will get sick. Diet seems to help in treating these conditions. One diet which has shown success is the Paleo diet. Might want to check it out. Doesn't cost anything to try it.
Avatar f tn Since your inflammation test came back high, there is something else going on besides Fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is not an inflammatory illness but it sure can develope from having an illness such as Sjogrens as its precursor.
Avatar n tn They even teach you how to eat out on the diet. The program is a little expensive but I have found that it is totally worth the money. I have tried numerous diets over the years but have not had the results I've gotten with MediZone. I'm loosing the weight without feeling deprived or hungry all the time.
Avatar m tn ve been having muscle pain, numbness, spasms, weakness, headaches, fatigue and several other problems including dizziness since 2007. After much testing I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia late in the year of 2009. These symptoms seem to get worse with each passing year, I've been cut to less than part-time at work due to frequent call offs and none of the medications ever work which is causing depression. I'm quite afraid and have always felt like this could be MS.

Avatar f tn I was recently told by someone that works with fibromyalgia patients that a gluten free diet could lessen my symptoms. Just trying to figure out what has or not has gluten has been confusing and a bit discouraging. But I am willing to try it if it works. Has anyone tried it? What were your results?
Avatar f tn I would highly recommend you begin on a nutrient/supplement program involving some very good vitamins and clean up your diet...i.e... stop eating processed foods and high fat/sugar items. It has been noted by many Drs and Patients that a poor diet can trigger Fibro pain and symptoms.

1138316 tn?1260796189 Your best course of action is to work with your doctor and to establish a good medication, diet, stress and exercise management program that will work with your lifestyle and needs. Medication management is the most trickiest aspect, but is probably the first step to get under control. It sometimes can take up to six months to find the right cocktail for your body, but be patient, because it will happen.

5586759 tn?1370435272 I've had Fibromyalgia since I was a teenager and I have gone through one pregnancy already, but at the time I hadn't been diagnosed properly for the ailments that I have. It's now round two, I am pregnant again, and I'm wondering about good suggestions to help maintain lower levels of pain. Last time I was put on bed rest at 8 1/2 months and that was torture for my sciatica nerve. I'm trying to stay active and strong.
