Avatar m tn After a procedure of having 5 stents in my left coronary artery I had an episode due the fact the catheter had pierced the artery wall, causing a small bleed. It was sealed with a stent, but caused a rhythm problem to occur in recovery. I remember asking the Cardiac Doctor for a bowl because I felt nauseous and the pain from the incision was unbearable. She looked at me, then the monitor and kept shouting "I want you to cough, and keep coughing".
584692 tn?1218267447 Certainly felt like a heart attack. Just turned 50 - 64 kilos in weight and 5 foot 7. Certainly not overweight and if anything underweight. Have lost heaps of unintentional weight in the last 12 months. 6 weeks ago after suffering from chronic bronchitus and constantly coughing, ended up getting angina for the first time in my life - twice and spent 2 days in hospital.

Avatar m tn 8. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital. 9. Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!! 10. A cardiologist says If everyone who gets this mail kindly sends it to 10 people, you can bet that we’ll save at least one life. 11. Rather than sending jokes, please.

Avatar f tn 81 year old female, congestive heart failure, diabetes, triple bypass 15 yrs ago. Had heart attack 3 days ago, retaining lots of fluid despite the multiple doses of lasik given daily. Heart cath showed (picture attached). Doctors said there is nothing they can do but give her Plavix and blood thinners. I just want to know if we should take her to another hospital or if it would be useless.
Avatar n tn s been unusualy tired, heart burn but his blood pressure is 124/83, which he says is high for him. His Dad had a heart attack during end stage of cancer. My husband is 43, under a lot of work related stress and is loath to seek medical help. What should I encourage him to do? How serious could this be?
1481758 tn?1287638643 Every heart attack is different, so I believe. But it could be just different descriptions from people about the same symptom for all I know. Numb hands & feet, cold tingle, not sure about upset stomach, shacking, all don't sound like a heart attack and in fact the tight chest is the only one that is. I'd assume they drew blood which is probably where they got the ammonia idea.
Avatar m tn the marker CK-MB would show an increase above normal in your blood test about six hours after the start of a heart attack. It reaches its peak level in about 18 hours and returns to normal in 24 to 36 hours.a blood test. You probably don't need to go to your doctor if you have only fainted one time and you are in otherwise good health. Fainting is common and usually not serious.
Avatar m tn Is your diagnosis hyper- or hypo- thyroidism? (you've used both terms) Sure, anxiety can present itself through a variety of very disturbing heart attack like symptoms [I've been to E.R. twice with such attacks, thinking I was having a heart attack]. Clearly you should cut out caffeine, and eat healthy (avoid sugars and low fiber foods as they tend to lead to roller coaster blood sugar levels which can get your mood to spiral out of control).
Avatar f tn I know from our family history that it is better to be taking these medications than go up against a blood clot that can cause heart attack and strokes. If a persons blood is thick, it is best to take the medication or if the person has an irregular heart beat which increases the risk of heart attack and strokes by causes blood clots. Make sure not to take Vitamin K when on blood thinners. Vitamin K acts as a blood thinner and is found in some calcium chewables with the Vitamin D.
1798872 tn?1346164585 This is because one of the chemicals released by heart cells when they are starving for blood and oxygen during a heart attack, CK, is also released by the muscles of our body under extreme strain or inflammation (caused by extreme exercise, medications, musculoskeletal conditions which cause muscle cell damage).
Avatar f tn I am a 47 year old female, family history of heart attack. I have been on bp meds for 5 years. I have not been feeling well for a few months. My BP fluctuates - it is better after taking my bp med Lysoprine. Last night I had a spell and my legs were shaky, clammy, sweaty, and nauseous. then I yawned uncontrollably for 10-15 minutes. My neck became sore and stiff. The feeling passed, but a Blood pressure check a couple of hours later revealed 180/109. I checked it 3 times.
Avatar f tn I am at work and started coughing, I realized that I started to taste blood, and when I spit what I could into a paper towel after coughing some more, I discovered that the phlegm or spit was actually pink. I blew my nose and it doesn't appear to be bleeding, and I wasn't able to cough up much more after this. But being asthmatic I am worried as to whether or not this is common or is something more serious going on?
Avatar n tn Yes, it is possible your brother could have had pulmonary edema. I had congested (pulmonary edema) heart failure. With that I had a severe dry cough, choking feeling, hyperventilation when reclined. Sitting up gave relief, but my pulmonary edema was classified as mild...I wouldn't wish a severe case on anyone! Antibiotics is ineffective for pulmonary edema. A strong antibiotic for pnuemonia should have helped.
Avatar f tn medically termed an infarct means necrosis in the tissue due to local ischemia (means obstructed blood flow and a heart attack is occurring with necrosis of heart cells...this condition can be quick from a clot or a slower process with occlusions of coronary vessels. An EKG is not a very reliable source to detect heart muscle damage and a prior heart attack.
Avatar f tn This is very common and is a result of your vagus nerve being stimulated by the coughing resulting in a sudden drop in blood pressure as it temporarily causes your heart to pump less efficiently causing less blood to go to your brain. The drop in BP causes your symptom of feeling faint, it is very common and completely normal.
Avatar m tn t going to have a heart attack. He then listened to my heart and told me that it was just stress and anxiety. Can you help me out please and relieve me of my worry?
937826 tn?1261333879 I have another questions I have been doing alot of coughing been coughing up alot of plehm but for the past half hour I have been coughing up blood not a smear of blood but a half dollar size amount of blood each time should I worry about this.
Avatar m tn Or it could be esophagitis where the sphincter is weak at the top of the stomach. Believe me, when acid goes into the esophagus, it feels just like a heart attack, I've experienced both. Make sure you are sitting upright for up to an hour after eating and before you eat, try taking some anti-acid medication. Perhaps your Doctor will be willing to try you on a proton pump to see if this is the problem, such as Omeprazole.
