584692 tn?1218267447 I did have a chest xray when I was admitted to emergency which showed a fair bit of mucus at the base of my lungs. With regard to the heart ultrasound, the Cardiologist didn't have anything to say except that it "looked alright" and to get some Blackmore's Fish Oil. I know that I am just one of many in an overpopulated world however after my heart scare, I admit I do feel a bit more important to myself for the first time in my life to me!
Avatar n tn A rate of 250 bpm plus some of the symptoms you describe sounds like vtach. My advise is that you get a full cardiac workup ASAP and listen to their treatment plan. When the SVT starts you can try things like valsalva maneuvers or coughing to normalize the rate before it gets out of control. the longer you wait, the worse it will get. I think it's very important that you get in to see a cardiologist.
Avatar f tn Please go to ER now to be checked. They'll do some blood work to check for enzymes that appear after a heart attack and of course you'll be hooked up to an ECG. Nothing very threatening but you need to know if you did have a mild heart attack, whether there was any damage done and how prevent another one. Please...
Avatar f tn Hello! I'm a 25 year old female. Last year my mother, 52 years old, died of a massive heartattack. Her mom and dad both died of the same things. Her mom was 70 and her father 65. I don't want to die that early. I would live some tips on what I should be doing to help prevent this from happening. Thank you!
Avatar n tn After a heart attack, it is necessary to be very careful about the blood pressure. And the type of heart attack comes into play. People who've had a, what can be called a big heart attack, often times have low blood pressures after the event, and in those people, there isn't a goal blood pressure. The protocol would be to give the medicines that are usually given after a heart attack, and hope the blood pressure doesn't drop too much.
Avatar n tn Sound like you probably did suffer a heart attack. You better go in to have an EKG done to confirm it. Symptoms when having a heart attack can be shaking in the back. It could also be that an artery that is somewhat blocked is spasming. You better seek medical attention as you may need medication to prevent further attacks or a procedure done.
Avatar f tn There is consensus with medical community to continue anti-platelet medication after a heart attack, implantation of stents and CABG. The good doctor from expert forum states Plavix is unnecessary and aspirin is sufficient. After a stent implant my cardiologist put me on Plavix and aspirin for a year...then dropped Plavix and continued with aspirin. There is some evidence that Plavix helps prevent restenosis with a drug eluding stent up to about a year.
Avatar f tn An EKG is not a reliable source to diagnose a prior heart attack. The output of the EKG is elevation of the ST segment of a heart beat, and there are a number of other insignificant causes such as electrolytic imbalance, medication, etc. And always a positive EKG test requires other tests and supporting symptoms. Several years ago, I was shocked to learn I had had a prior attack and didn't have the usual symptoms. A stress test or echocardiogram is the appropriate followup tests.
671285 tn?1292660161 My heart was racing and it didn't stop for a while so I went to the ER. The staff ran numerous bllod tests on me and gave me an EKG which indicated that I was having a sinus tachychardia attack. I was also given an IV with some fluids to prevent me from dehydrating. After several hours I was sent home with a case of "ANXIETY". I felt very sick. And my heart tacing has caused quite the stir in me. It was beating rapidly and uncontrollably. I am only 27 years old.
Avatar f tn You must take help of a person immediately Fast.... Just go to a doctor and don't panic as it may make the situation worse (if it has stooped then too you may visit a doctor because it may be the first stage of heart attack and take proper medicines. ..get check your bp....
Avatar f tn You need to take him back to the doc. The dosages/meds can be changed to prevent the racing heart. It sounds like you did not consult the doc about stopping the med, which in hindsight probably was a mistake. It is not related to minecraft. Actually, if his breathing gets any worse, I would get in to see your doc as soon as possible. Tell them when you make the appointment what is going on. And if, he starts to spike a temp, get him immediately to the doctor or emergency room.

Avatar f tn He is out of the hospital now and his angioplasty was very good and showed a healthy heart. They went from saying heart attack to almost heart attack. This made his blood sugars go to over 650. Sugars are better now and he seems fine, but I'm just wondering what could have possibly caused this and what I need to watch for in the future. We thought he was doing very well with his diabetic control, but while in the hospital his A1C was 12. What should it be?
Avatar f tn Whatever the factors were that brought that about, are likely to lead to a second heart attack unless you change something in your lifestyle or care. Personally I'd pull out all the stops to make sure you don't have a second incident. There is so much you can do to help yourself. Good to hear you'll learn about Esselstyn's ideas. By the way, former President Bill Clinton credits Dr.
Avatar n tn Yes, it is possible your brother could have had pulmonary edema. I had congested (pulmonary edema) heart failure. With that I had a severe dry cough, choking feeling, hyperventilation when reclined. Sitting up gave relief, but my pulmonary edema was classified as mild...I wouldn't wish a severe case on anyone! Antibiotics is ineffective for pulmonary edema. A strong antibiotic for pnuemonia should have helped.
Avatar n tn the guy thats meant to be doing the op is a vascular surgeon,,i was worried incase this was any link to the op i need,,is the heart attack related to it?because its coming to the piece thaT if i had my op,,would that have prevented taking a heart attack?thanks for any help or advice u can give me...thanks...
Avatar m tn I am sorry to tell you this but a Heart Attack always means that a part of the cardiac muscle has death (otherwise there is not a HA). That means that depending on how big the HA was( affected area) and how long it took to restore the coronary circulation the permanent lost of EF can be more or less. Normally there are some chance of recovery until 1 year of the HA, although the biggest part it is usually in the first 3 - 6 months.
Avatar n tn Taking a low dose aspirin a day helps to prevent strokes. Irregular heart beats can cause strokes as they attribute to blood clots.
232 tn?1298411683 t detect it and it turns out he was in heart failure. My cousin had the same issue and he had a heart attack and died after being discounted. Heart disease and cancer are on both sides of the family. I know something is wrong and I don't want to be on the autopsy table when they find it. I want, if something is mortally wrong, to have time to say goodbye and get my affairs in order.
Avatar m tn I think he says, its from a childhood disease, or alcoholism, and it causes your heart to not pump as good as it should. Is it a heart attack? what is it? could anyone help me?
Avatar f tn My Dad had a heart attack 3 years ago, he went to his cardiologist just like he was suppossed to. He took all his meds like he was suppossed to. 3 months before he died his doctors nurse told him he could quit taking his meds, so he did. His doctor never told him he had heart disease. He died last September of heart disease that none of us knew he had. Do you always have heart disease if you have a heart attack? Were we just too dumb to know that?
Avatar m tn A healthcare professional can suction the mucous out to prevent her from choking or aspirating, and administer oxygen to ease her breathing. She may need to be evaluated for pneumonia and/or given medication to reduce the mucous, but I would definitely recommend you contact her doctor.
Avatar m tn Is your diagnosis hyper- or hypo- thyroidism? (you've used both terms) Sure, anxiety can present itself through a variety of very disturbing heart attack like symptoms [I've been to E.R. twice with such attacks, thinking I was having a heart attack]. Clearly you should cut out caffeine, and eat healthy (avoid sugars and low fiber foods as they tend to lead to roller coaster blood sugar levels which can get your mood to spiral out of control).
