432737 tn?1358549432 With my son (who is now 3) our pediatrician actually told us not to give him juice until he turned 1. They are getting all the nutrition that they need from breast milk and/or formula so they don't need juice for that reason. There is also a lot of sugar in juice that they don't need in their diet.
8726042 tn?1399978830 Doulamommy is correct, regularly only breast milk or formula should be given, but a small amount of prune juice is okay to help with constipation in babies over 1 month of age. However it should only be for a couple days until the constipation resolves.
Avatar f tn No it is the one you mix with water and apple juice. Then you add blackthorn berry juice it help you with milk and breast feeding. And you add a sachet of rehidrate blackcurrent and cal-c-vita if you want. I would never have alcohol while pregnant!!
Avatar f tn Formula and breast milk are brain food. Commercial apple juice is mostly sugar - and getting lots of sugar calories leaves the brain needing more brain food.
Avatar n tn 48mL) a day of milk / breast-milk plus 4-6oz 100% fruit juice a day. Is he drinking that much breast-milk / milk and juice at meals or between meals? If you still feel he is drinking excessive amounts of fluids then have him checked by his MD.

301354 tn?1211810520 All this while its always emphasized to continue breast feeding as long as possible(breast milk contains a huge percentage of all the vital nutrition required per day and so if you have missed any of the nutrition through any of your formula foods/cooked foods it can always be compensated in breast milk) It is true that many foods like dairy products etc can cause allergies but it does not happen in all children. its better to start those product(at least the ones like milk..
Avatar f tn Try to put a warm towel on top of them and get the milk out, warm baths help and also massage the top of your breast so they dont get hard and swell up. Thats what i did with my daughter because i could never breastfeed her.
1738109 tn?1331412572 My daughter is 18 months and I still don't give her juice. She only takes milk and water. I've juiced oranges for her in my juicer and also did apples but she doesn't have a taste for it, so I give her water to drink throughout the day and milk 3xs a day. I found it hard to find something without so much sugar and artificial ingredients...

Avatar n tn To get rid of jaundice he needs to be passing urine so you need to be getting him to drink as much breast milk or formula as go can. If you are somewhere where the weather is nice you can bring him out in the sun. If the jaundice is bad the doctor will do light therapy to get rid of it.
Avatar n tn His stomch will not be able to cope with the acids, etc in the juice. Stick to breast milk for now as this is his main source of food. If you want to start introducing solids, try baby rice to start with.

293845 tn?1227997530 He should get the majority of water he needs from his formula and your breast milk. However, I used to give Aspen a bottle of water while she was playing or sitting around in between feedings.
Avatar f tn It is very common to think that our breast milk is The best thing out there for our child. But mostly instant crying, not pooping properly and some infections is the result of not drinking water enough in babies body! Babies as any grown up needs water and somethimes that amount of water we have at the begining of feed is not enough for baby. I dont suggest giving any kind of juice for a month old baby - his/her tummy is not ready for that! Be safe and God bless our children!
7590082 tn?1392496513 Hey ladies. I'm expecting my second child in September and I really want to breast feed. It didn't work out with my first cuz I had a low milk supply and couldn't feed her anymore at 3 months.. What if I can't breast feed this baby either? Does a low milk supply mean always a low milk supply with every child? What were your experiences?
Avatar f tn Here is a Q&A the answer is answered by world renound Dr Sears Q  My baby is ten and a half months old and has been exclusively breastfed since birth. She refuses formula and bottles defiantly. However, she will drink water, but only from a cup. Recently, she has stopped wanting to nurse, except once in the morning and once in the afternoon. I'd like to give her something other than water, especially at bedtime, to help get her through the night.
Avatar f tn If you want to ensure at least one bowel movement a day, give them one bottle of formula. Breast milk can make them constipated, unless you eat something that will make them poop. Prune juice for Mommy. Lactose intolerance causes Diarrhea not constipation. It also gives them gas and makes them colic. Nuratimigen formula is the Best. WIC also gives it to you with a Dr prescription.
