Avatar f tn Hi, I am glad that you asked a question in this forum and we will try our best to answer. It appears that you may have some kind of infection at the site with discharge of pus. There is also the possibility of accumulation of sweat and oil produced from the skin which may have not been removed properly. You may also want to get the breast examined better by lifting it and looking over the pimple like spots that you have described.
Avatar dr m tn There's been a lot of research recently about the benefits of breast milk over formula. There's even evidence that the act of bottle-feeding (breast milk or formula) has detrimental consequences on jaw development and possibly increasing the risk for developing sleep apnea later in life. The decision to breast-feed has a lot of emotional, practical and financial issues that all new mothers must deal with.
1528695 tn?1360585920 How long does it take for your milk to dry up? Mine feels to have decreased in amount, but if i manipulate my breast/nipple (as in hand expression) i get a few squirts and drops.... then i quit. Does the milk totally stop coming out or is this my new normal?
140844 tn?1204945253 Breast milk is good left out until the next feeding.. they say it can stay at room his tempature up to 10hrs.. but if my baby does not finish i give him the remainder at his next feeding or put it back in thhe fridge till next feeding . This is NOT the same for formula as it must be discarded after 1 hr.. but NOT breastmilk..so tell your dh to put it back in the fridge. P.S. heat the breast milk only in warm water Never put it in the microwave.. it will lose all it benefits!

10389360 tn?1410827568 I have gotten into the habit of feeding her on the left side exclusively and then pumping on the right to build a frozen milk supply. Is this OK? Anyone else doing this? I don't see why there would be an issue with this but am curious to see what others think and do!
Avatar f tn since u cannot take medication cuz of breast feeding, maybe you could freeze some milk and have the surgery since that is all that will help or just plain medication, or you may have to wait till your done feeding, and have surgery or take mild pain meds, because i had it and it is painful after surgery too. so you will need to be on medicaion.
408496 tn?1269606950 of milk, feed it to him, and then give him his pacifier if he still wanted to suck. It worked. Also remember that breast milk is more easily digested than formula so babies get hungry faster than if they were being fed formula. Good luck.

Avatar n tn Amitriptyline is excreted into breast milk. In one report in which a patient received amitriptyline 100 mg/day while nursing her infant, levels of 83 - 141 ng/ml were detected in the mother's serum. Levels of 135 - 151 ng/ml were found in the breast milk, but no trace of the drug could be detected in the infant's serum.
Avatar f tn They dont test them anymore if those are normal even if you are breastfeeding and still on the PTU (the amount that crosses over in breast milk is mute) I had mine tested just for peace of mind during nursing and they were always within normal limits. You can expect to have more ultrasounds then normal with this diagnosis to monitor fetus growth and to watch for goiter.
Avatar f tn But the amout tranfered via breast milk is very small. I had my kids tested just to ease my nerves and there thyroid functions remained normal through out breast feeding (BF each one, 1 and 1/2 years). The pediatrition said they usually dont monitor kids BF with mother using PTU cause the amount is so small. Pregnancy and postpartum AND breastfeeding can alter your thyroid levels. unless you are experiencing major health issues I would not jump into TT.
Avatar m tn This went on for 2 years and then a lump was found on my breast...needless to say...It was Stage 3 breast cancer. Dr. Told me the scalp condition will disappear with chemo and it did. Please get a complete check up.

I want to ask you ladies who've breast fed what you would recommend for a breast pump. Please include brand & model. If you have any other tips, feel free to let me know. Thanks so much!

Avatar f tn I was in a Breast Feeding Class last night at a hospital lead by a certified lactation counselor. I live in Washington where both medical and recreational marajuana are legal.....There are many people in our state who are under the impression that since marajuana is "legal", that it musy be safe.... The instructor read to us the latest medical study on Marajuana use during pregnancy, and when breast feeding. It just came out this week.
