Avatar n tn Are you losing weight at all? The best way to keep weight off is to lose a bit at a time so it stays off, and you don't say if you're getting anywhere or getting nowhere. I would ask, if this exercise is new to you, meaning you weren't doing this before, do you notice anything positive happening in the shape of your body?
Avatar f tn You're apparently not too used to working out, so you have to start slowly and build up as you get stronger. Anything that gets/keeps you moving is doing something for you. While cardio is good for you, you also need to do some strength training. You can do that in the form of squats, lunges, or using light weights. You can check out YouTube for various weigh bearing exercises. When you do strength training, you build muscle, and muscle burns fat.

Did you know it takes about a year for your body to adjust to losing 10 pounds? It's important to remember weight loss is a marathon and not a sprint. In order to lose weight and keep it off, you shouldn't look at it as weight loss but a way to become healthier!
Avatar f tn 30 minutes work out, 3 times per week. There are a lot of cardio workout in youtube that you can follow. The best one for me is FitnessBlender channel. They teach exercises whilst tracking how many calories you burn. It's okay if you can't finish it all (30 mins) , It's fine if you only did 10 minutes, after your body gets into it, you can do that 30 mins like for the 5th week. Avoid sweets, junk and processed foods. To avoid them, replace sweets with fruits.

I ordered an elliptical, and plan to workout on it for atleast 30 mins a day. I seem to be losing well in all places but my face and arms. Any advice on how to trim these two areas? Or should I just be patient?

Avatar n tn Exercise is a way of life that brings your body to good health while losing weight or mantaining weight. 1-2 lbs is a reasonable weight loss goal per week not much more. Remember 1 lbs of fat is 3500 calories so you will have to burn that much calories in order to lose just 1 lb of fat. Be patient is it happens slowly.

Having clear short-term and long-term goals will make that process more exciting. Once you define what you want to achieve and when, write those goals in a notebook or on the computer. At the beginning, especially if you've been away from a regular exercise program for awhile, you should set weekly goals and one ultimate goal.

Avatar f tn ) and remember to eat healthy, your condition and weight losing depends a lot about what you eat. So eat good fats (avocado, nuts) and proteins! Don't eat much carbs. And if you can't run the whole 30minutes you can walk and run but then you need to do longer exercise like for 40-50minutes.
