Common Questions and Answers about Zyrtec for eczema

zyrtec

Avatar n tn Zyrtec can cause side effects like skin nodules, rash, pruritis (itching), acne, urticaria, photosensitivity reactions and eczema. So, the itchy red cheeks could be due to Zyrtec. Discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn I've always had it and I take zyrtec because creams don't work for me. Even though you're pregnant you are allowed to take the normal dose of zyrtec so if creams don't work try that!
Avatar n tn Sure do send to this forum.
Avatar n tn Doctor prescribed medications for his eczema and ointment and has taking some antibiotics and some other medications orally but it seems nothing is working. His eyes and that general area is all swollen and has red rashes all over his forehead. Of course they ithcy like heck. We did blood test too just in case but nothing came up. He is as healthy as a normal teen age boy can be. He eats well, gets proper exercises and everything is normal. I need help, any help would be grateful.
Avatar f tn Talk to your dr Hun. I use a prescribed nasal spray for my sinus as well as prescribed creams for my eczema. I asked my dr and he checked it out and ok'd it. You will feel better if you check, and won't stress yourself or feel guilty over it. Good luck! Hope you get some relief soon!

Avatar f tn Went to a doctor and was priscribed over the counterver Zyrtec/Cetirizine for the hives. Took them and immediately the hives vanished. Everything was going fine until the hives started to come back more and mroe regularly to the point I had to start taking the Zyrtec everyday to control them.
Avatar f tn I used creams, oatmeal baths and continued her Zyrtec. I decided to take her to a different allgerist for a second opinion. At this point she was placed on Zyrtec 5mg BID, Orapred 15 mg q daily x 5 days and Triamcinolone cream BID. The plaques were beginning to get better and I have seen some encouraging results regarding them. However, 2 days after finishing the Orapred, she has developed an extremely itchy rash from her neck almost to her knees. The rash is slightly raised and red.
Avatar n tn I have not taken any medicine the only thing diff is I got a cat 2 weeks ago BUT I have had cats in the past AND I have taken cat to vet for check up and all shots, I dont think I am allergic because the rash came suddenly and fast last evening now both of my arms are red with very tiny raised small bumps pls help. Avatar f tn I was told to take zyrtec. Now I have a rash on my upper thighs. Is it the generic zyrtec? Would the regular Zyrtec do the same? Have you ever heard of Diamox being prescribed for Meneire's disease? I find nothing in the literature about it and am hesitant to take it as it makes me very tired. I need to sleep about 3 hours a day when I take it. I don't want to experience vertigo again.
Avatar n tn Eczema diagnosis is generally based on the clinical appearance and a few tests like the patch test and blood levels of IgE antibodies and eosinophils and a specific test for eczema is called the Radioallergosorbent Test (RAST). Skin rashes are diagnosed clinically based on the history and appearance of the rash. You should consult a skin specialist for proper clinical examination, which is necessary to evaluate any skin condition.
Avatar f tn My dermatologist said that the rash on my face was allergies?!?!?!? take a claritin or zyrtec. ive been taking claritin and it worked for the first three days and her i am... perioral is gone while im on this anitbiotic and this itcing is driving me insane!! Avatar f tn He takes Zyrtec for allergies. I do not have any children that has these tics. He does do it at school as he told me a friend of his asked him why he was moving his eyes the way he does. My husband travels for a living and this causes stress on him.. I would assume it would cause stress on any 8 year old boy who loves his Dad. I have been reading on the internet that tics can be caused from low magnesium. I have also ready about herbal remedies. Do you have thoughts about this.
Avatar f tn Hello, If it is resembling welts, then it can be due to hives. Take antihistaminics like Benadryl or Zyrtec for the itching and apply some mild steroid cream on the rash. If the symptoms are worse then you may need oral steroids. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn I have the same problem. I have been taking Zyrtec for many years and for the last few have had the "addiction"...itching, often mixed with a burning sensation, starting with my palms and the soles of my feet then moving to every other part of my body. It is terrible and nearly debilitating. This used to take a couple of days to start, but recently I start itching about 36 hours after my last dose. I am currently on day 7 of a juice fast.
Avatar m tn s liquid benadryl and it helped for a period of time and then it stopped working so I switched to Zyrtec and that seemed to help me a lot. The Zyrtec is a 24 hour thing so I just took one every day. Along with the itching my skin was super sensitive to touch so I had to be very picky about what type of clothing I wore to work.
Avatar f tn Treatment options include oral antihistaminics like Benadryl and Claritin or non sedating antihistaminics like zyrtec; topical steroids for skin rashes and itching and oral steroids in more severe cases. Application of calamine lotion also helps in soothing the skin. Also try to keep your skin sweat free by taking regular baths and wearing cotton free flowing clothes. If the symptoms persist then please consult an allergist/dermatologist. I hope it helps.
689528 tn?1364135841 s control, like this time of year ,he gets a prednisone per day for 3 or 4 days and then every other day for two or until things calm down. Zyrtec can be expensive, but we actually found a generic brand at the dollar store! $1. for 14 pills, so we clear their shelves! Our poor boy suffered until we found this new vet, every other night, we would do oatmeal baths, benedryl cream, benedryl pills, alcohol rubs, ice.. it was heartbreaking. We can totally relate.
Avatar m tn Hello, From the symptoms it can be contact dermatitis or eczema. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Allergic reaction can occur to strong soaps, Solvents, chemicals, certain foods, food additives, plants, metals, cosmetics, even urine and faeces of some animals (dust mites). The mainstay of management is liberal use of moisturizers after washing with luke warm water. Soap should be used minimally.
Avatar n tn ve seen a skin specialist (dermatologist) and it was one of the worst cases they had seen in their 25 years). There is a steroid cream for the main body and one for the face, both of which are highly effective. The body is called Clobetastol (or something close, I don't have my creams on hand) and the face is Desonide. I had the rash for 2 weeks and it was horridly painful and eventually became infected.
