478342 tn?1241369352 My itching started about 5 years ago. I would walk to school during the winter and the longer I walked and the more my body got heated up I would start itching uncontrollably all over my body including my face. Then there would be little bumps over me that I guess are hives. This happens every winter in to the beginning of Spring. I can't workout because I can't get hot thats when I start itching and my skin gets flushed red.
Avatar n tn I have eczema myself. Before I was pregnant I was told hot showers are bad. Luke warm is better and Vaseline right after. Should pat dry nit completely dry of to keep moisture in. But during my pregnancy I used 100 pure natural African shea butter.
Avatar n tn My 8 year old son has what is believed to be eczema we have done a biopsy which one pathologist read as psoriasis and another read as eczema and his dermatologist thought he had skin lupus. We are currently treating it as eczema and he is on elidel and triamcinolone cream, we have tried tanning beds and bleach baths. No relieve, this has been going since last Nov. The dermatologist wants to put him on methotraxate (sp?) (chemo drug). I am nervous, any advice????
Avatar n tn Hello, From the symptoms it sounds like dyshidrotic eczema. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.
Avatar m tn lood test for any potnetial fungal issues, that came back negative. Went to a derm who tells me it is Eczema and I will be fine, take Claritin or Zyrtec and some topical creme he prescribed and I will be fine. Well, it seemed to work for a short time with the Clartin but that made me really bloated and blotchy so I stopped that after 10 days and have not taken anything since. It does not really itch but looks worrisome. I have never had any issues like this on my skin.

Avatar f tn Talk to your dr Hun. I use a prescribed nasal spray for my sinus as well as prescribed creams for my eczema. I asked my dr and he checked it out and ok'd it. You will feel better if you check, and won't stress yourself or feel guilty over it. Good luck! Hope you get some relief soon!
Avatar n tn I have eliminated it being dry skin of an allergy, ive changed my lotion soaps and detergents. I’ve taken Zyrtec daily and Benadryl. I’ve gone to 5 different doctors, had blood tests, EMG test and nobody can seem to help me. I’m in constant pain and really could use some advice.
Avatar f tn Went to a doctor and was priscribed over the counterver Zyrtec/Cetirizine for the hives. Took them and immediately the hives vanished. Everything was going fine until the hives started to come back more and mroe regularly to the point I had to start taking the Zyrtec everyday to control them.
Avatar m tn Hello, It can be due to nipple dermatitis or eczema skin nipple. Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Allergic reaction can occur to strong soaps, Solvents, chemicals, certain foods, food additives, plants, metals, cosmetics, even urine and faeces of some animals (dust mites). For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g.
Avatar f tn It was determined that she is allergic to dust mites only. She was placed on Zyrtec 1mL/mg, 5 mL q daily. This helped but did not completly get rid of the urticaria. About a month ago she developed an itchy rash on her knees, elbows and anterior wrists. At the time they were just sporadic bumps. The bumps soon merged and formed plaques in these areas. I took her to her allergist and was told it appeared to be eczema. I used creams, oatmeal baths and continued her Zyrtec.
Avatar n tn I have not taken any medicine the only thing diff is I got a cat 2 weeks ago BUT I have had cats in the past AND I have taken cat to vet for check up and all shots, I dont think I am allergic because the rash came suddenly and fast last evening now both of my arms are red with very tiny raised small bumps pls help. Avatar f tn I have a 7.5 year old son who started constantly snapping his head back about a month ago. It's definitely a tick, and it started very suddenly, and I don't know what to do. Please let me know if you have any breakthrough with this.
Avatar f tn I had forgotten to mention that I just recently stopped taking Zyrtec. My doctor thought it was eczema. She prescribed predisone and a topical ointment. That was about 8 days ago. The predisone helped, but I took smaller than the predscribed dose and still have had itching and random itchy bumps with itchy redness, especially if scratched, on my elbows, knuckles, and knees. Even so, I have considered my history and know there's definetly a corelation.
Avatar n tn I am also allergic to the sun. My rash is like a bunch of itchy hives and usually presents on my upper chest. It is called "Photosensitivity". I have been treated with an antihistamine such as zyrtec once a day. In addition to the zyrtec my physician gave me fluocinide cream to apply to the area if needed. I do go out in the sun, zyrtec helps but If I'm exposed to the sun too long, I still get the rash. Good luck...
Avatar m tn Hello, From the symptoms it can be contact dermatitis or eczema. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Allergic reaction can occur to strong soaps, Solvents, chemicals, certain foods, food additives, plants, metals, cosmetics, even urine and faeces of some animals (dust mites). The mainstay of management is liberal use of moisturizers after washing with luke warm water. Soap should be used minimally.
Avatar n tn I once had a similar rash to the one u described , I got some zyrtec medicine and it really helped .
Avatar n tn on our routine 6 month visit our pediatrician was insistant that it was possibly atopic dermatitis. and prescribed keflex, zyrtec, hydrocortisone, and elanil. so we went to the derm so she could see what our pediatrican saw on the same day, and she gave us cutivate and told us to continue griseofulvin. my sonnow seems much better, his face is no longer scaling or red. areas on the skin wherehe had the patches are now whitish and pink in some areas................
720656 tn?1311040235 You might want to try taking Benadryl or Zyrtec during the day to help with the itching. Zyrtec has less of a drowsy affect than Benadryl. Also keep up with the lotion. Gold Bond didn't agree with me so I used the Eucerin Calming Cream and/or Aveeno oatmeal lotion. I also took a lot of baths with the Aveeno oatmeal powder. You should start to notice a gradual improvement the longer you are off meds.
Avatar n tn My 2yo dd is suffering from a REALLY bad rash. She was diagnosed at about 1yr. with Eczema by her ped. but I'm not sure if that is really the issue. This is manifesting a bit differently. Started off the same way, but the ringed patches on the back of her legs are new, and she is getting hives (as you can also see in the photo).. the ringed patches do not go away. The hives come and go a bit-- they got really bad the other day when she started to sweat (We live in Houston)...
Avatar f tn My son has developed a rash on his body. Specifically small red bumps underneath the skin. It started as a reaction to the strep throat but now its been over a month and the skin rash gets worse. He's also developed 4 blisters on the back of his calf that he says hurt and itch. He scratches from head to toe and can not find relief in any of the meds he's on (zyrtec, locoid). I don't believe it is eczema could you tell me what other possible skin problem he might have?
