Avatar f tn And Paxilled is right, do NOT quit Zoloft cold turkey. Talk with your doc.
970463 tn?1294557762 My wife has been on Zoloft for 3 years. She has told me she has fallen out of love & I don't pay attention to her. She's very irritable towards me, but acts fine to others. I'm wondering if the zoloft has quit working. I've also read a post in which some claimed zoloft destroyed theri marriage & the iwfe fell out of love. Any advice would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn i took 50 mg zoloft for 9 yrs for panic disorder, which worked beautifully. i switched to 37.5 mg effexor xr because of my decreased libido. after several months, i feel generally anxious again, as if i've had caffeine. the other thing i've noticed is a decreased memory for names, places, etc. can you tell me what is causing this, and how can i get relief from this anxiety? it makes me irritable and otherwise unable to function optimally. i am 49 yrs old, and female.
Avatar m tn I've been taking zoloft for more than ten years, my question is does zoloft stop working after so many years? Pls help i've been in bad shape for quite a while, and I need answers!
Avatar n tn I went from 150mg of effexor to 100 mg of zoloft. my question is will the zoloft eventually work? i am on week two of no effexor and just zoloft. please help!
Avatar f tn First, get a psychiatrist. At least get a new doctor. There is no reason Zoloft won't work because Lexapro stopped working -- the only ssri I know of having this effect is Paxil, because it is just too strong for anyone but the desperate. (Not that it works better -- it's just stronger on the brain). The Effexor is bothering you most likely because it's also targeting norepinephrine, basically adrenalin, so it's not usually used for primary anxiety.
Avatar f tn Well both Prozac and Zoloft take weeks to kick in fully. What was your side effect on Prozac?
Avatar m tn I have no idea, but why on Earth would you take an addictive and toxic drug (vicodin has acetominiphen in it, doesn't it? That's highly liver toxic) to get over another drug that's hard to quit? You're just going to either have to tough it out or go back on the Zoloft and taper off more slowly if it's too much to handle.
Avatar n tn I am going to try to quit smoking. My doctor prescribed Zoloft. Why? I am not depressed. (I am 66 and have smoked since about 14).
Avatar f tn It typically takes about 4-6 weeks for Zoloft to start really working. The same will apply for dosage increases, you have to give that the same amount of time (4-6 weeks) before changes will be noticeable. That's why it's important to try to be patient, as it can take a few months to be able to FAIRLY assess a medication's effectiveness. You'll get there. Therapy is also a good idea in addition to the medication. I would recommend that.
10361664 tn?1409609407 Ok now im scared! What do I do?..ive been on Zoloft before about 15 years ago and I liked it I was only on 30 mg of Paxil before I started the taper!
Avatar f tn The Zoloft quit working for me last september, I tired lots of different meds but never gave any of them long enough to work until this lexapro. I thought 20mg was the max dose for lexapro?
Avatar n tn I know this sounds terrible but I guess I really enjoy the high from the combination. UGH! I have quit the pills once before and the worst part was the RLS! I also take zoloft on a daily basis and (bare with me on the explaination) It seems as if when I drop down the norco dosage it makes me have a zoloft withdrawal as if my body is moving faster than my head???? like a tracer feeling, dizzy?? zappy?? I don't know but I don't like it. I am fearful of these two withdrawals symptoms.
Avatar n tn Recently Ive felt the zoloft has not been working as it used to so I went to see my nurse practictioner. She decided to switch me from zoloft to Lexapro. She said I could immediatly discontinue the zoloft and start on the lexapro 10 mg. I have been feeling a little out of sorts since I have switched and i am wondering if perhaps I should taper off the zoloft and ease into the lexapro.. or does it not matter?
Avatar m tn I have tachycardia and was recently told to take zoloft for my depression along with a calcium channel blocker which I am already taking and it is not working. I was told zoloft would DECREASE my palpitations, but after reading what I just did, now I'm not so sure.
3185406 tn?1345381829 I have been on many different SSRIs for 15 years now for anxiety. I was recently on Celexa, but switched to Zoloft 50mg last week because the Celexa was no longer working. I've been on Zoloft before and have had good results except for one thing, which leads me to my question: My throat feels like someone's hand is around it squeezing. It's very uncomfortable. In my research, this can be a sign of anxiety, but why doesn't it do it when I'm NOT on Zoloft?
Avatar f tn I take 200mg of zoloft daliy for like 10 yrs for severe depression. Ive been taking norco more then I should for 2yrs. Is it true the pain killers have been making my zoloft not really work? I believe I'm lacking in dopamine from my depression, does the norco stop it even more? Is there a supplement or something I can take to help my receptors get back to normal quicker, or give me extra dopamine boost? Which one I'm misssing. I stoped for 30 days, I was clean.
Avatar f tn I started Zoloft around Febuary of this year, after stopping Prozac due to my inability to handle its side effects. Zoloft worked amazingly for about 5-6 months, and now in early October I'm finding that my depression, anxiety, and apathy are all returning. I'm continuing to take my Zoloft, which is at 50mg a day, but I'm going through unable to enjoy ANYTHING. could Zoloft not be working anymore? I don't know what to do. I just want something that works for as long as I take it.
440680 tn?1205682375 i cant reaally focus on anything for more than 5 minutes so i think the zoloft is bringing up some ADD or something. zoloft hasnt done anything for my social anxiety and now i realize the anxiety is why im feeling depressed. A COUPLE QUESTIONS FOR ANYBODY: SHOULD I START TAKING AN ANTI-ANXIETY MEDICATION ALONE or CAN I TAKE THE ZOLOFT AND ANTI-ANXIETY MEDS. AT THE SAME TIME? FEEDBACK WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS!
Avatar m tn Before I started taking Zoloft I did get dizzy but my doctor told me it was from anxiety and stress and not to worry but he did prescribed me pills for nausea/dizziness.. Zoloft can help ease it off as it makes you more calm. But I would recommend you taking it during the night as it can be heavy on you (wasn't for me) it can make you sleepy. I would recommend you not to read the side effects as they can be a bit scary.. I've actually never read them.
Avatar f tn how quickly did you quit the Zoloft? Did you taper off as slowly as you needed to, or did you quit abruptly or quickly? What you're suffering are classic withdrawal symptoms, and everyone has a different amount of them and a different duration and a different intensity.
990051 tn?1249190363 ve heard about Effexor and Zoloft -- Effexor has a much worse reputation for difficulty quitting than Zoloft, with Paxil second in difficulty. This isn't to say you could have a hard time with any of them, or an easy time with any of them. Nobody can predict what any of these will actually do to you, only generalize.
Avatar f tn And if Zoloft was working so well, it might be worth the weight gain - all antidepressants can cause weight gain.
Avatar f tn I have not been on meds for 3 years.Cuz none of them worked for me.So now i am giving this zoloft a try.Today is my 3rd day taking it.For the 1st 2 weeks i'm cutting in half cuz i'm so sensitive to it.Hopefully it will kick in soon.I just can't live in fear everyday.I start temp work on Tuesady so i hope it starts working a little bit then or i will quit taking it.
