Zoloft quit

Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft quit

zoloft

Avatar n tn I know this sounds terrible but I guess I really enjoy the high from the combination. UGH! I have quit the pills once before and the worst part was the RLS! I also take zoloft on a daily basis and (bare with me on the explaination) It seems as if when I drop down the norco dosage it makes me have a zoloft withdrawal as if my body is moving faster than my head???? like a tracer feeling, dizzy?? zappy?? I don't know but I don't like it. I am fearful of these two withdrawals symptoms.
Avatar m tn Before I started taking Zoloft I did get dizzy but my doctor told me it was from anxiety and stress and not to worry but he did prescribed me pills for nausea/dizziness.. Zoloft can help ease it off as it makes you more calm. But I would recommend you taking it during the night as it can be heavy on you (wasn't for me) it can make you sleepy. I would recommend you not to read the side effects as they can be a bit scary.. I've actually never read them.
Avatar n tn I am going to try to quit smoking. My doctor prescribed Zoloft. Why? I am not depressed. (I am 66 and have smoked since about 14).
Avatar f tn And Paxilled is right, do NOT quit Zoloft cold turkey. Talk with your doc.
Avatar m tn s and 2 weeks on zoloft. quit the zoloft last night, not worried after such a short time, but I am afraid of both a taper and cold turkey on the benzo's.
Avatar m tn I have no idea, but why on Earth would you take an addictive and toxic drug (vicodin has acetominiphen in it, doesn't it? That's highly liver toxic) to get over another drug that's hard to quit? You're just going to either have to tough it out or go back on the Zoloft and taper off more slowly if it's too much to handle.
Avatar n tn I went from 150mg of effexor to 100 mg of zoloft. my question is will the zoloft eventually work? i am on week two of no effexor and just zoloft. please help!
Avatar n tn Been off zoloft for 11 days. Having withdrawal sympyoms. Just wondering how long they usually last. Been on antidepressants for about 10 years(sarafem, effexor, zoloft) not sure if that makes a difference.
228936 tn?1249094248 Hey there, Your depression could have much to do with your smoking quit. Are you still quit? I wasn't successful with mine because of the depression. If you can just hang in there, Mr Lucky, I bet the depression will improve the more time passes. Plus, we're into Spring and your mood may start to improve simply due to that. I was on AD's for 24yrs, but quit them in 04 and like you, I really do feel better without them, overall.
Avatar f tn I was on zoloft for approx. 4 months, 50mg - I am 32 years old, always been around 110 lbs. I didn't gain weight at all during those 4 months, however I quit cold turkey just about 3 weeks ago. I feel so bloated and sloppy! I have put on 5 lbs and that is alot for me since I am only 5'. My question is ... did quitting this cause weight gain?
Avatar f tn This is a psychiatrist. I would love to find a new one but they are in short supply around here. He says this is the way to go. Even if the Effexor doesn't work he still doesn't want to try Zoloft, he suggested a tricyclic. My GP is willing to try Zoloft. I'm just scared nothing is going to work now.
Avatar f tn Well I suffer from panic attacks and horrible insomnia anyways, after I got on the right dose for my zoloft I quit having panic attacks and my moods were stable, but my insomnia never got any better, and I've tried probably every sleeping pill you can think of, my insomnia has gotten better now though. Please listen to me though, if you get worried about your weight, get off of it now while you can.
Avatar n tn I have been on 100 mg. Zoloft and just recently my doctor took me completely off it and put me on 1 mg. xanaz (1/2 pill for three times a day). She also put me on 2 dozepin at bedtime.(35 mg.) I just don't have any energy and don't know if it is because I have come off the zoloft. I have been off it for a week. I have been having anxiety attacks pretty regular but since she has put me on the zanax it has helped. I just don't want to do anything.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Zoloft for 3 months. I wanted to try Life without it so I quit cold turkey. The first week was great but for the last few weeks I have been having horrible twitching, muscle spasms, numbness, headaches, and hullicinations. i contacted my doctor last monday, she didnt call back, then i called her on friday and then again she didnt call back.
Avatar f tn Well both Prozac and Zoloft take weeks to kick in fully. What was your side effect on Prozac?
396099 tn?1216254986 Since I started my Zoloft it seems that food (but especially liquids) have a slightly metallic taste. Is this just me? I haven't seen it as a side effect anywhere.
Avatar n tn Effexor tends to have far more side effects than Zoloft, and is known to be much more difficult to quit. On the other hand, are you sure Zoloft is any safer during pregnancy? Whatever the case, you'll have to taper very carefully off Effexor before you start Zoloft so you can tell which is a side effect of Zoloft and which is a withdrawal effect of Effexor. But research this -- your child needs to know.
Avatar m tn You have'nt been on it very long at all. Ask your Dr about the tapering. He/she may let you quit without tapering though since you've only been on it for a couple of weeks.
956433 tn?1255977108 At least that is was happened when I started Zoloft! But after those 3 weeks it was an absolute miracle for me haha! Zoloft worked perfect for me! I didn't suffer from and anxiety or panic attacks after that! So if I could I would of taken smoking back because that is was caused me to start suffering from this problem, and it continued and got worse even after I quit pot!
Avatar f tn Hi there just wondering how long zoloft take to get completely into your blood stream I was on one dose but it was increased and I am just wondering I have been on it for about 5 days the new one thanks again for your responses its nice to know people who care
4592444 tn?1362029703 I'd say definitely don't quit cold turkey. I was on Zoloft for over 6 months when I found out I was pregnant & before I even had my first Dr appt I stopped taking it...it was horrible! Headaches so bad I could barely see. But the Dr did say if things got worse with my anxiety/depression there were other alternatives that I could take while pregnant. So maybe just discuss it with your Dr & find an option that will work best for u with the least risk of harm to your baby.
Avatar f tn Since going off Zoloft 10 months ago, I’ve had severe anxiety day in and day out. Around the same time, I started experiencing various symptoms such as muscle twitches, burning/hot feeling skin that comes and goes in waves, heart racing, heavy head, sore muscles in neck, back, legs, etc, difficulty sleeping, racing obsessive thoughts. Has anyone else experienced this?
Avatar f tn I had been on Zoloft for the past 5 months and before that Paxil (the lowest dosages for both). When I found out I was pregnant I stopped taking Zoloft but the depression and anxiety has returned. I would like to go back on Zoloft but am concerned if, because I quit "cold turkey", it's okay to do so. Should I ease back into it, or can I continue to take it as I had been? I've tried contacting my doctor but have not received a response.
11638679 tn?1457985940 hi, ive been on 50mg of zoloft for about 8 months now. My doctor gave me another 25mg separate from the 50mg in case i wanted to see what it would be like if i increased the dosage. I want to stop taking zoloft because of how emotionally numb it makes me. So should i start taking only 25mg for a week and stop after that? what's the best way to stop taking 50mg of zoloft? i took only 25mg today to see what happens.
Avatar f tn Did you taper slowly off the Zoloft or quit abruptly? Either way, it can be withdrawal from stopping the Zoloft -- it needs to be stopped as slowly as suits the particular individual and even then most people get withdrawal symptoms when stopping it, some moderate, some severe., some for a very short time, some for a very long time.
396099 tn?1216254986 Lexapro affected my sleep patterns like most AD do...it is hard to say..i used lexapro for detox as recommendedto get on an AD..stayed on it for 4 months and went down to 5 mg..dont think i am seratonin deficient...zoloft does wonders for my daughter and she has an anxiety disorder....not really diagnosed but i can sure tell when she stops her zoloft....she will pick a certain topic and worry herself to death over it...she wil call me 10 times a day..
1612112 tn?1298347577 To start I want to give you an understanding of where I am coming from... I am an addict. I started taking prescription narcotics when I was 17. I have always had social anxiety and stressed myself out about everything. In my first few years of using I took zanax and later moved on to excessively using somas and pain pills to the point of not getting out of bed unless I had several pills to help me make it through the day.
