Common Questions and Answers about Zantac for gas

zantac

Avatar f tn Me and you both! It started out small, like I could control it with tums. But then that wasn't enough so I switched to mylanta. And by this past weekend that wasn't enough! So I tried zantac but it only took the edge off for a few hours. Yesterday I had enough, and called my doctor, he called a prescription for prilosec. And as of this morning, so far so good.
Avatar f tn Im 11 weeks pregnant and just "popped". My question is how to relieve gas, pressure and bloating? I know about watching your diet and what you eat and drink, I have even tried drinking baking soda water. I am extremely uncomfortable, any opinions?
Avatar f tn Been having extremely painful gas pain & tums does nothing for me!! Any suggestions ladies? I would really like to get sum sleep tonight...the pains so bad I wake up screaming in my sleep & that does not sit well with me or my boyfriend!! He thinks im goin into labor!!
Avatar f tn I stopped the Metformin for a few days to give my stomach a rest and took zantac 300 twice a day. No palpitations or afib. I was amazed. I am now on Metformin ER (which has less side affects) and with it I take a zantac. I have had no afib. Either this is a miracle or GERD causes afib. I went to PubMed and confirmed it and here it is: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19911354 I hope that I reach out to people who can benefit by my post.
Avatar f tn My midwife suggested I switch from Tums to the extra strength maalox chews for antacid and gas...much more helpful and the gas relief is wonderful!

Avatar n tn s almost like the gas moves to my chest when I lay down for bed (even after waiting 3 hours after eating) causing lots of pressure along with heartburn. Which wakes me up at night, causing diarrhea and a little vomiting too. This has been nothing like my last pregnancy with my son(he's 2). I almost have to sleep in the guest bedroom to prevent disturbing my husband at night with all the bathroom trips, please help!!!
368461 tn?1291515587 Brock is on Zantac for the reflux. I have no clue if it works or not. He also has cereal in his bottle, and we switched to soy. He still has super fussy times, even after feeding, diaper, napping...I am starting to think baby #1 is my high maintenance baby, so #2 better be easy going! Good luck...hope it works for Hayden! We also have a blanket under his crib mattress, about a 30 degree angle, for help with the reflux.
Avatar f tn Zantac and time work great. My doctor said taking zantac 2x daily is fine with time.
Avatar f tn Oh dear god I hope someone can help me! I've been excessively burping now for about a year. When it starts, I burp for sometimes up to 10 hours or more a day. This has left me incapable of doing much! I've had upper, lower GI testing and all tests come back fine. I need help... I've been on tons of different meds trying to stop this and nothing is working. The only bit of relief I get is if I lay down on my right side.. and it takes a while before it slows down.
Avatar f tn I take Zantac 150 twice a day and get gas. It's just the acid settling and leaving your body.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone, I've been experiencing muscle twitching all over my body for the past 2-3 years. They feel like bubbles or things crawling under my skin and they happen more frequently when I have lots of gas. Sometimes the twitching stays in one place and doesn't stop for hours. At first I though it was a side effect I was getting from Zantac, but I've been off Zantac for months and I still get muscle spasms! What kind of doctor should I see for this problem?

Avatar n tn But since then have had gas under the sternum/upper chest, and it keeps building up and building up and takes awhile to pass via belching. It took awhile to even try Zantac again or less coffee. Sort of helps but gas not entirely gone. All the while I have head pressure, ears popping. It wasn't until a friend on FB discussed his arrythmia that he mentioned his hiatal hernia and how it may play a role.

Avatar n tn hi I'm new to this community.i have been having gas and palpitations for a very long time.i went to check everything and the doctor said there was nothing wrong with me.i noticed whenever i eat spicy foods, salad, fruits, vegetables, oily foods or do something very fast, that i have no time to think which is when i get palpitations.
Avatar n tn I have PVC's and alot of us have an increase in palpitations after eating or after eating certian foods. The two things that help me is gas-x and zantac. If I'am having a particularly bad time I take the gas-x 4 times a day before each meal and before bed. I will also take zantac before breakfast and before dinner. Just for a couple of days till things settle down. I also try not to eat a large amount of food at each meal.

Avatar n tn That stuff scares me because of the rep it has for harming bones. It blocks magnesium absorption or something? I used to take Zantac but I was doing great for nearly a year now, even without taking it, so I didn't bother. But I think I was drinking too much coffee lately and set it off. Do other people here get head pressure and ear pressure with GERD/chest gas? What are the risks with Nexium? Are there other options to try?
Avatar n tn I take Zantac and it helps with passing of gas a lot. I was taking it for heart burn but I noticed it passed my painful gas as well.
Avatar n tn but im thinking of trying zantac for her the least doisage possible just to cjeck if it will reduce the spitting and the crankiness after feeds, but i also don't want her tummy to get used to it since my self i have been on omeprazole for years and can't live without it.. it's only during my pregnancy that I have changed to zantac and in severe cases pariet or lanzor.
2020005 tn?1628125976 I was actually thinking that clysta, gallbladder, because it started up after I ate bacon last night! Will zantac work for gallbladder issues as well?
7601195 tn?1406663344 Zantac is safe and in my opinion the best thing for heartburn. But I get off brand because it's soooo much cheaper but the same thing. And any otc stool softener is fine.
