389974 tn?1331015242 problem is I am a tennis freak and Wimbledon is on and they are 8 hours ahead of California ...I am rooting for Serena of course, where are our US male players we had so many brilliant players ...what happened anyone know ..no budding McEnroe's out there ....
Avatar m tn High school football is not known to raise the risk of tauopathy, only the level of exposure encountered during a professional career. A similar example is the increased incidence of ALS in professional Italian soccer players, who head the ball. Amateurs don't have an increased risk, and billions of people play soccer at high school. Please try to keep calm, don't worry about CTE and do keep playing sports in a way that is beneficial to your health.
Avatar f tn I would like anyone who has experience with male teen-age soccer players who have had a cuboid subluxation or injury related to the cuboid bone or area around this area of the foot. What medical professional might be the best resources in the area of expertise in the areas of evaluation, treatment and follow up preventative care and therapy? My son has had at least 3 acute recurrences of this injury in the past 3-4 months.
Avatar m tn I am always getting after him for misbehaving and he tends to go into a negative mood, that is very hard to re-direct. He seems to be doing ok at school, but not at soccer. Today he was telling one of the boys that he hated him, kicking the other players ball away from them and just all around in a foul mood.

Avatar f tn I usually have to move to my side or get up and walk around a little to calm him back down. I think we might have soccer players on the way.
Avatar f tn Because of its size, I’m getting a laparotomy this summer to have it removed. Until then, I would like to keep getting exercise. I’m a soccer player and I’ve been training gently by myself. I would like to play a game with other players. I could run lightly so it wouldn’t be too strenuous, but there’s a pretty high risk of being knocked over and/or tripped. Could landing on my stomach cause my cyst to rupture?
Avatar n tn That's the interesting thing about this current interval training fad. It seems to be a big seller for people who don't want to work out very long but get the same results. My wife has started doing it, but I had to caution her to go more slowly -- she's had achilles tendon problems recently but started running for her interval training.
Avatar n tn Can you stop thinking about HIV because you have no risk? Come and play soccer with us, we have 10 players and need one more.
1292438 tn?1276120904 m already pretty fit and im a soccer player. i play competively and im just wondering what the best work outs are for abs and legs?
973741 tn?1342342773 m with the skeptic above that they do anything for immunity, but they allow players to get back on the field quickly despite the tremendous amount of soreness that follows football collisions and basketball players hitting the floor repeatedly. Ice is only anti-inflammatory for new inflammation -- after time passes it doesn't work anymore -- but pro athletes do things we can't imagine doing and do it at great speed while running into one another, and the soreness really is painful.
Avatar f tn My son tore his ACL playing soccer in fall of 2017. He underwent surgery with a graft from his own hamstring. Made a good recovery, performed all PT,rehab etc... The surgeon cleared him to begin non-contact workouts. Last week (now July) in a non contact work-out he tears his meniscus in the same knee (verified with MRI). Is this just a freak accident? Or is this normal? Or did the surgeon botch the ACL surgery? I can post all the text of the radiologist reading if it is helpful...
Avatar m tn I coach a 14 year old girls soccer team. One of my players has a rash that is becoming unbearable for her. I have talked with her parents and they have tried everything. They have tried sleeves, different shin guards, different detergents, otc ointments, prescribed medicines. The family has even went as far as doctor prescibed steroids. I found out that her older brother had the exact same thing some years ago.
Avatar m tn s the good part, all of what i just mentioned affects soccer players the most and its usually not that expensive of a surgery, it takes one or two days max and is minimally invasive....anyway i don't wanna take long, i'm no doctor thats just my two cents worth....
Avatar f tn My son likes to push off my side quite violently I might add and shove his butt up on the other side. It's nice to see he's strong but gesh does it hurt!
Avatar m tn Hi Saty , Thank you so much for your reply , but what about rashes ? it is irritating me !
Avatar f tn Dislocation of the patella (kneecap) is usually an isolated traumatic event (often seen with basketball, football, and soccer players), but can be recurrent in patients anatomically predisposed (shallow trochlear groove, patellar morphology).
Avatar f tn Was afraid to do squats cuz i heard they induce labor and im 22 weeks XD
Avatar n tn I am a coach for a u7 soccer team and I am concerned that one of my players overdresses for training. I have mentioned this to his parents but they seem unwilling to listen to my advice. Am I right in believing that overdressing causes heat related problems as the body cannot get rid of excessive heat during training. The player appears more lethargic during the session compared to his peers and I suggested to his parents they he may be getting too hot. Firstly am I right to be concerned?
Avatar f tn i play soccer and i run alot and get injured because of other players, so ever since last season of spring in soccer i have had a pain on the inside of my leg near my shin, its only my right leg. but then it went away for a while then comes back then went away then came back. so over that period the only symptoms i had were visible veins going down the side of my leg, stiffness all day and a horrible pain. Until 10/25/09, i was playing a soccer game.
Avatar m tn Increased stresses on the tibial plateau can be indicative of Osgood Schlatter's which is common in soccer players, however, more likely being that you are a basketball player you may have what is called jumper's knee. This is usually caused by an irritation of the patellofemoral tendon that spans from the bottom of your patella to the tibial tuberosity.
Avatar m tn When I was 13, I started noticing that I was having trouble keeping up with other players when playing soccer. I would always run out of breath faster than anyone else who wasn't overweight. I saw a pulmonologist, who gave me an inhaler, which did not really help. Six years later it has been slowly getting worse each year. Of course I've tried conditioning a lot, which hasn't really helped. To give you some perspective, when I ran the mile in gym class when I was 13, I got 7:26.
771327 tn?1235397065 Hi, It is possible that you have sustained muscular injury which occurs commonly in soccer players. I would suggest you to take rest apply ice packs and continue with the prescribed medication. Hopefully the pain will resolve I few days time. If the pain persists, please consult your GP about it. Good luck!
Avatar n tn Have witnessed before at a charity event. A soccer game that was to go on for 4 days with no sleep for the players. The players on day 3 were having dreams, although awake. Fighting off people that weren't there. Was interesting to witness this. It was considered too dangerous to let them continue. Dreaming, yet fully awake. Not saying that is the answer to your problems. That might lie elsewhere. Doesn't have to be anxiety. Hence I ask about the anxiety.
6990909 tn?1435275816 They make things for dogs that you put in their food bowl that stops them from eating so fast or you could put her food on a cookie sheet that has sides so she has to move around to get a hold of it.
Avatar m tn So i lived with the issue the next couple of days until I played a soccer game and was hit in the chest by a soccer ball.
