My freshman and sophomore year of high school I played football and during that time my guess is that I received 3 or 4 undiagnosed concussions and maybe 25-30 sub-concussive hits to the head including my time of playing basketball. The somewhat recent news of the amount of American football players being diagnosed with CTE after their deaths has me terrified. Some players are even as young as me have been diagnosed after their brains were examined postmortem examination.
About 2 weeks ago I was playing football with my team against another team, I almost got in a fight with one of their players and I insulted another one of their players, I accidently forgot to shake there hand after the game and also I said infront of my team that I will knock the player out, I was trying to look tough. I think of of my players knows a guy on their team but I'm not sure he told them what I said.
His CPK level was 113,000, which I can see from other post is unheard of. Other than 2 workouts (both were not strenous) back to back & some weight lifting and maybe a little dehydrations, they could find nothing to be the cause of the elevated CPKs. He's never had a problem with remaining hydrated during a workout before. His kidneys are liver are fine.
I'm completely confused as to why and how this happened. He's been very athletic since he was 4 years old.
s not that you have to watch what you are doing and how you defend or block,it is the fact that the players are compensated for causing injury to an opposing team member. In the rest of the country it is illegal to pay someone to hurt someone else.The nfl games take place within the jurisdiction of the law.This is just plain and simple illegal.No debate here really.

And I did martial arts -- in sparring, you go all out for a few minutes, then stop, change opponents, and start all over again, or you do forms and then stop and stretch. Sprinters and football players and baseball players and basketball players and soccer players and tennis players all train with interval training. It's not new. It's just got some slick merchandisers behind it now. I just find that interesting.
Thats right its still no risk it would have to directly get into your blood stream via an open wound that would be so big it would require hospital attention.Look at football players for example, they get other players blood on them all the time.Honestly,you would never have a risk the way you describe the situation.
Completed the full rehab, fine. Played football very regularly for years after, high intensity a few times a week as well as attending the gym. A year ago I tore my left ACL and had full reconstructive surgery on that. Did full rehab on that, fine. Now I'm playing football again and back at the gym and sometimes - not all the time, I'm feeling some slight discomfort on my right ACL scar which gets painful if I press on it.
It's not painful but it's a noticeable discomfort.
I have been playing football for 3 years now and no serious injuries in the past two. A few days ago i started getting a pain on my left foot about 2-3 inches above the big toe. It hurts the most when I walk up stairs or walk in general. When playing football i dont feel any pain what so ever because my mind is focused on the game. I am a Defensive linemen and i am 6'5" 290 lbs if that helps. There is no bruising or swelling. Please help me!
