Avatar n tn The Patella bone is a bone in the tendon of the Quadriceps. The tendon of the Quadriceps is attached to the tibial tuberosity of the tibia bone. The Quadriceps consists of Rectus femoris, vastus lateralis, vastus medialis & vastus intermedius. So if your Quadriceps are tight obviously your knee will feel weak and chances of the inflammation and fatigue might be there in your calves as well. Take care!
Avatar m tn I am doing all body muscles workouts at home (sometimes intense workout) including abdominal workouts. I want to start swimming for a while and i want to know what are the benefits of swimming, and what will my muscles and abs benefit from it.
Avatar m tn Hi Greg, Body-weight exercises are great for increasing strength. Make sure to target all muscles so you do not get muscle imbalances. Try out pushups, reverse rows, dips, pull ups, chin ups, handstands, etc. For abdominals do planks, dead bugs, side planks, crunches, oblique crunches, and supermans. Squats and lunges will strengthen the gluteus maximus, the quadriceps femoris and the soleus but they don't target the hamstrings. A good one for hamstrings is a Swiss Ball Hamstring Curl.
Avatar n tn What you can try is strengthening your erector spinae muscles (lower back muscles) by including a few back extensions into your workout routine. You can strengthen your hip area with a brisk warm up cardio, jog/bike preferably (low impact) then a good 5-10min of slow stretching of the hamstring, quadriceps, hip ADductor and hip ABductor muscles (do not bounce the stretch!). Then concentrate on doing some light resistance training on those muscle groups.
Avatar f tn Hey I am 12 years old. And I am just wondering do you have any light exercise routines that would be good for me? Im just lazy and I dont do much exercise.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure what polefitness is but I've kept up with my regular workout out routines and my doctor said it was fine. As long as the workout isn't too dangerous and your pregnancy isn't high risk, but you always need to check with your doctor first. I know working out has made this pregnancy ten times better than my first! Good luck with everything!
Avatar f tn I do cardio kickboxung twice a week followed by body sculpting that involves light weights (8-10lb weights) that's on tuesday and Thursdays. Wednesdays I usually take my dogs for long walks. I'm a hair dresser so the other days I'm working and am too exhausted and sore to do anything else as of right now. Keep exercising it's good for both of you.
Avatar f tn Quads and Calves The squat is a classic exercise that targets the major quadriceps muscle of the thighs as well as the calves. Beginners start with no weights, and more advanced exercisers add dumbbells. Stand with your feet slightly wider than you hips and lower yourself into a squatting position with your thighs parallel to the floor. Your weight shifts to your heel as you lower your body, so that your knees don't bend too far forward past your toes.
746818 tn?1233944362 I'm looking for treadmill workout routines other than just walking the whole time or running the whole time. I have been running at level 6 for 30 seconds, walking at level 3 for 30 seconds, running at level 6 for 30 seconds etc. Anybody else want to share theirs?
486919 tn?1280184140 make the tracker adjustable for my routines. I like that all i have to do is check them, i wish i could switch them for my personal routine. Example: it has weight lifting, but I don't weight lift, i do a 10 minute workout that changes everyday...or put a box where i can put what i want....I know if you do get one for medication and vitamins, that everyone uses different ones.
Avatar f tn Drink lots of water throughout the day, even during workout. Breath! Dont hold your breath during strenuous routines. You can also try a creatine & protein post workout drink to help you along the way.
Avatar f tn You have been doing these routines all along without knowing about the cyst so unless you think exercise is adding to the pain, why stop, right?
Avatar f tn Babies take it out of you) these little trick will help. Once those levels increase you will be able to focus on typical excercise routines and maybe even hit the local park to amp up the adrenalin. Good luck.
505857 tn?1329681517 t have a lot of confidence, has anyone else found this class a good weight loss class? Will i manage some of the routines being overweight?
Avatar m tn Target two or three muscle groups during each workout session. For example, a workout to tone the body might target leg muscles one day, chest and back muscles on a separate day and arm and shoulder muscles on a third day. Perform two or three exercises for each muscle group. Start with bodyweight exercises, such as situps, pushups and pullups. Then progress to basic weightlifting exercises, such as bench presses, lat pulldowns and squats.
193609 tn?1292180293 would you consider starting a community post that would encourage community members to share their workout videos/routines so everyone can get some idea as to what our members think? Mind you, this is for information sharing, not to endorse or sell a product - it would simply allow those of us who may be considering the purchase of a few items to have some information ahead of time and perhaps narrow our search. gokuangel - Looking forward to your reviews!
Avatar f tn Research has shown that stretching can inhibit your performance and doesn't reduce your risk of injury. One study performed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill showed that subjects who performed dynamic warm-ups had higher performance in the vertical jump test than those who just did standard stretching.
Avatar m tn Since 3 days ago i have cramps like i am on my period and they will not go away. Also last week i started working out a lot (mostly situps and leg workout and i feel my muscules are sore). Moreover, i have not been eating as much as i usually do and i lost some weight because of stress...so could my pain be connected to the workouts and stress? or did something happen during oral sex (i mean could i be pregnant or is something else going on)??
Avatar f tn It's possible that you're at a plateau, where your metabolism has adjusted to your caloric intake and your exercise level. Try changing your workout routines around to "trick" your body. You might also be retaining fluids a bit. You might also try getting a body fat percentage done to see if you're already as lean as you can reasonably get. If you are, no amount of dieting or exercise will change your weight very much.
Avatar f tn Sorry, I left this one out! http://www.babycenter.com/0_eight-ways-to-find-time-to-exercise_626.
Avatar f tn It disappeared completely for a while but a week ago it reappeared out of the blue again in the back of my upper right thigh - sort of a tightness feeling, again only with movement. Well yesterday evening, completely out of nowhere, the FRONT of my right thigh (quadriceps I believe) started feeling really sore and had a sort of achy, burning-muscle pain (not hot burning like nerves, but like a workout).
Avatar m tn your muscles through slow stretching (almost yoga-like stretches), paying special attention to the area of concern. I have a similar issue with my quadriceps and hamstrings in my right leg (though I'm a woman) and am practicing yoga techniques before jogging. I also find the brand "IcyHot" pads placed over the muscles to help. Hope you find relief soon.
