Avatar n tn I was on Celebrex 200 mg daily, my pain clinic dr also wants to add Cymbalta 30 mg for 7 days then 60 mg. My husband and I want to have children but are not activly trying at this point, it happens when it happens. I just want pain to stop or at least elevate more. SHould I take both together. My OB said it should be ok, My neuro dr said give it a try but pain clinic dr said don't. What should I do? I have taken it for 3 days now. I also have PCOS.
Avatar m tn I took Celebrex for several years for joint pain due to Crohn's. I keep having bowel obstructions so I went to a new dr. He told me to stop taking the Celebrex and start taking a tylenol everyday. I have not had any more obstructions but I do still have some joint pain.
Avatar f tn I have been prescibed Celebrex for osteoarthris pain. Can it be taken every day for long term management of arthritis.
Avatar f tn I have increased bone pain and nausea. I then have diarreah and vomiting for 2 days, but the cramping is what cripples me. I then have to wean myself back onto solids. But the most frustrating part of the whole ordeal - is when I have gone through this I feel replenished. It is as though my body is trying to rid something - a build up of acids maybe?
Avatar n tn The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver. But I realize that they do have to get control over the swelling on her articulations.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I meant to add that to find out WHICH med is causing the eye problems you should stop them ONE at a TIme. That way you will know. I THINK that you've pretty much figured it out that it's the Neurontin and not the Celebrex that was causing it from what you have said to me. Especially since that is one of the side-effects of the Neurontin and VERY seldom (only - was is it 5%?) for the Celebrex.
370181 tn?1595629445 My mom who is also suffering from chronic pain due to a back injury she sustained from a bad fall eight years ago, was also prescribed Celebrex by a surgeon who is an expert in pain management. Well, my mom was on the Celebrex for only two days. She felt very ill on the Celebrex and went off the Celebrex by herself as it was making her symptoms worse. Yes, I've also heard that Celebrex has cardiac risks, didn't know about the g i bleeding.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone :) My Dad recently had a stroke, during which time they found occlusion in one of his legs, causing foot pain. He's currently on Oxycodone. But I'm looking for a better pain management option(s) for him. From what I've been able to ascertain, Vicodin, Celebrex, Darvo- or Percocet have seemed viable options. Can anyone share their opinions on this??? Thanks so much!
1155483 tn?1262432647 com, and all of them say not to take the medication for longer then 5 consecutive days and that it is not indicated for the treatment of chronic pain. I am worried of the side effects and the specific warning of the 5 day maximum. I guess I am looking for a second opinion on the treatment plan and also, for alternate treatments that aren't as "strong" as Oxycodone in its various forms. I have thought of asking about Tramadol and Darvon.
Avatar f tn Regular doc says I need to take celebrex for arthritis pain. I know it is a NSAID so I am scared of it. He thinks it is not a problem with hep c, but he is not a Hep C doc. What is the scoop on it? Any one taking it with Hep C?
1207048 tn?1282174304 He said there is no seasonal joint pain diseases. He thinks it is developing arthritis. I told him that is not nearly exotic enough, and I don't want any boring diseases like that :-) He re-ran all the tests I had last year- Blood work for: Complete blood count Full metabolic work up rheumatoid arthritis Lupus inflammation and a few others that I can't remember. He also sent me for x-rays of both feet, both ankles, and my left elbow.
Avatar dr m tn Thanks Tuckamore: You know what I found interesting about facet pain?.... HOW to tell I had it!! I knew very well what spinal nerve impingement felt like. I had a Grade II Spondylolesthesis (congenital) then after surgical correction (Dr. George Frey - Swedish in Denver - fantastic Dr. and Spine team -coloradospineinstitute.com) I knew that pain had diminished dramatically. However just 2 months after surgery I bulged discs at the two levels above the fusion.
Avatar m tn I started taking Celebrex two months ago and have gained 18 lbs since. I am wondering if anyone has gained weight on Celebrex? I have a sprained lumbar, lumbago syndrome with back spasms. I can't take narcotic pain meds. Any alternative to Celebrex? Naproxen does nothing for my pain.
Avatar f tn Natural remedies are definitely worth a try and might make you feel better, but there is nothing known that will cure the underlying disease and prevent joint damage. Most patients I know use prescription meds along with natural treatments like heat, ice, massage, reiki, acupunture, homeopathy, diet changes, exercise, and more. I do believe Reiki has helped me take fewer meds but I still have the disease. With proper, aggressive treatment you may be one of the lucky ones that achieves remission.
Avatar m tn The tests you need to ask for are Free T3 and Free T4, which are actual thyroid hormones and TSH which is a pituitary hormone that stimulates the thyroid to produce thyroid hormones. Many doctors will only want to order the TSH - insist on the Free T3 and Free T4, as well.
237152 tn?1206651036 My pain dortor gave it too me too and I had alot of success with it
968560 tn?1307451498 Rather than my making a suggestion on different drugs, I am going to just suggest you talk to your doctor about a time released pain medications and let her decide what would be best to prescribe to you. That is what I did when it took too many Vicodin to relieve my pain.
Avatar f tn Trying a new drug for pain... Celebrex. I was on Diamox but could not tolerate it as it caused severe kidney PAIN. So, my PCP wants me to try Celebrex (3 days on, 3 days off). Anyone have any experience/knowledge of this med and, if so, how did you fare with it?
Avatar f tn I was on Celebrex for 15 months (I was on treatment for 18). The problem with Celebrex is that long term use can be hard on the heart.
6708370 tn?1471490210 Anyone have thoughts about Celebrex for pain management?
Avatar f tn That's how I was before my pain started. I never took any sort of pain med. Even when I hurt myself at work and had to get stitches, they gave me a bottle of Vicodin, and I never took it. The only time I took anything was Midol for cramps. So almost every pill I take hurts my stomach. Even now that I'm not really on any medication, if I take Tylenol or Advil, they still hurt my stomach. So you're not alone.
Avatar m tn I have been advised to take Celebrex or Topamax for headaches. Which treats headaches/migraines better? Which has had more success?
Avatar f tn It is really starting to drag me down and make me feel both tired out and no get up and go. My pain is in cotrol but my husband is also worried about the side effects. Is there something else I could take with the same effect on pain but that I could lose this weight. I also take cymbalta and celebrex. Please help.
Avatar f tn I want all to know I am just starting Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN). Stopped the Enbrel, Plaquenil, Celebrex, muscle relaxers, Methotrexate and other meds, and am only taking my blood pressure meds, hormone therapy and this LDN! I am STRONGER, less fatigued, and am doing very well in many areas!! I just wanted all of you to realize this LDN is out there, it's available and works well for most of us.
Avatar f tn You are welcome, hisangelbaby.. from what i have heard others the rebound pain goes away and the level of pain is more tolerable and by then the celebrex will start working, be positive that you will pull thorough this, .... take a long hot bath with epsom salts, it will relieve your muscles...
