celebrex for shoulder pain

I just got this diagnosed and the gave me a steroid shot in the inflammed area ...the dr also gave me a script for celebrex to keep inflammation down.....i really don't feel like taking these pills because of side effects....would it really be bad for the healing if i don't take them?

I took Celebrex for several years for joint pain due to Crohn's. I keep having bowel obstructions so I went to a new dr. He told me to stop taking the Celebrex and start taking a tylenol everyday. I have not had any more obstructions but I do still have some joint pain.

There is something called referred pain. In other words, the pain may originate in one area of your back and the pain radiates to another part of your back,. Both of us, my husband and I, go for regular adjustments with our chiropractor. Were you involved in a car accident of some kind? I ask this because you mention going to a physiotherapist. Are you aware that celebrex has been removed by some drug stores in Canada. Personally, I wouldn't take this drug.

Then I lay down to sleep and I wake up with pain in my mid and upper back, usually across my shoulder blades and below. The pain subsides after twenty minutes or so but it happens every day. I just bought a new bed and it doesn't help. I would appreciate any ideas.

I never had high blood sugar but recently after a 10 day course of celebrex for an inflamed shoulder muscle my fasting blood sugar shot up to 137. I read that celebrex has this side effect. Is it reversible?

I have been dealing with chronic shoulder pain and nerve damage in my LT shoulder as a result of chronic dislocations (At one time, about 1 year, 10-15 times daily.) I have had two surgeries to stabilize the shoulder, repair the glenoid labrum and have two Hills Sachs deformities on the humeral head. Until recently, I have been on a daily regimen of 10-20mg Oxycontin in the AM and Percocet PRN in the evening if I've over exerted it during the work day.

My right side is worst with numbness, tingling and sometimes pain from my right shoulder blade down to my fingers. (very annoying) Also these symptoms run down my legs to my feet. Scale from 1:10 on pain w/numbness is about an 8 most of the time. When I sit my legs get numb sometimes. It all gets worst at night. the back of my neck hurts and into the shoulders again. I take plaquenil and after my ER visit this past friday they put me on Celebrex which I took 6 years ago.

If the pain comes from the shoulder joint down, look into polymyagia rheumatica. It usually starts in the hips and shoulders but my most extreme pain was in my left arm. You are supposed to be old to get this, but like most auto-immune diseases, it's on the rise. I came down with it at 58 and suffered for a year and a half before I found it on a website and asked a rheumatologist for help.

I injured my shoulder several months ago and have tried cortazone injections and physical therapy. I have been taking celebrex and ice , moist heat but the pain has not stopped.

I do take Celebrex for the rib pain these last month. I were diagnosed yesterday with Cotsochondritis but do not know if it can be something else. I did started treatment 2 years ago for the stomach - Nexium 4mg (five family members died of colocancer) I also have this strange pain in my hips down my legs - it starts and then after a while it feels better but then it feels tender over the vains and the muscles. I, unfortunately, found this out the hard way when I was prescribed Celebrex - it was working pretty well for the arthritis, but it DRASTICALLY increased my blood pressure to a dangerous level (165/105) so was told to stop it immediately and to stay away from ALL anti-inflammatory medications, over the counter OR prescription.

I have found myself buying pain pills Percocet 5/325 and Vic 10s and take 1 sometimes 2 a day. And have been for a little over a month now. However my Dr is now giving me celebrex and it isn't working and I am scared that I am building up a tolerance to pills. Should I go a week and be miserable and then try the celebrex? My body hurts so bad I can't even move some days and I have 5 kids with the youngest being 2 yrs old.

Whenever this happens I feel whole body inflamed - like fingers feels but thick, ring feels tight and increase in lower back pain, shoulder pain and upper back pain. I feel like the whole spine is inflamed. I have been prescibed Celebrex for osteoarthris pain. Can it be taken every day for long term management of arthritis.

My X-rays show no arthritis, although L2 is displaced at a 17 degree angle, visible on a CT. Standing for over 20 minutes increases pain, longer becomes unbearable. Seated positions do not help. I'm at my wits end, can no longer function at an acceptable level and can not pass a physical...(but nothing is wrong per the local doctors). HELP!!!!!.

My tired is groggy, heavy/sleepy and as i has stated, this started after I knocked that 1/4 grain off of my dose as well as increased shoulder pain, boils. I am calm, not nervous and my life is even upsidedown at the moment! I am on beta blockers, have been for over 20 years for migraines. I also take xanax to sleep and had to lower my dose of that when i lowered the thyroid dose as the dose i was on then knocked me out a lot easier and left me groggy in the morning.

She took xrays and diagnosed me with more osteoarthritis and not rheumatoid arthritis, and also the fibromyalgia. Since being on the Celebrex, that has helped my back pain a LOT, and when the pain breaks through occasionally, I take the Tramadol. Just telling you what works for me. Have you seen a Rheumatologist?

I have increased bone pain and nausea. I then have diarreah and vomiting for 2 days, but the cramping is what cripples me. I then have to wean myself back onto solids. But the most frustrating part of the whole ordeal - is when I have gone through this I feel replenished. It is as though my body is trying to rid something - a build up of acids maybe?

Fosamax is safe for liver patients. Celebrex in the short term (for a couple of weeks) should not be harmful. However, it is not something he wants me on for any length of time.

I was treated for pain, immobilization with a sling and ice application for 24-48 hours for 15 minutes every 2 hours. My orthopedist said I can use the sling for comfort and to start exercising the affected arm. Is that a good advice? I thought if you have a fracture, one needs to immobilize it? How long will this hairline fracture heal? My left elbow is still swollen, can I apply warm compress? What activties that I can and can't do to promote healing? Thank you for any response.

and he hope the meds help this too. I have had a sore shoulder for 1.5 years..but it has really gotten bad for the past few months. Napraxen and Celebrex didn't help the inflammation. My GP is not sure its Bursitis, but it sounds like it to him. He didn't even look at it..just from what I have told him? is this type of inflammation common? well, take care everyone..

Well, my mom was on the Celebrex for only two days. She felt very ill on the Celebrex and went off the Celebrex by herself as it was making her symptoms worse. Yes, I've also heard that Celebrex has cardiac risks, didn't know about the g i bleeding.

Hi I am new to the forum,I have read post's and I am so sorry for everyone's pain. I had a cervical dissection with a spinal fusion on c-3through c-6 19 month's ago and now I am back where I started in sooo!!! much pain. I have been on vicodin,neurontin,lyrica,flerexil,I cannot remember what else. Now I am on celebrex and darvocet. I have almost contemplated suicide but I am too sane for that, and I don't want to go to Hell so I guess I have to find some pain relief.
