370181 tn?1595629445 My mom who is also suffering from chronic pain due to a back injury she sustained from a bad fall eight years ago, was also prescribed Celebrex by a surgeon who is an expert in pain management. Well, my mom was on the Celebrex for only two days. She felt very ill on the Celebrex and went off the Celebrex by herself as it was making her symptoms worse. Yes, I've also heard that Celebrex has cardiac risks, didn't know about the g i bleeding.
Avatar f tn I have been prescibed Celebrex for osteoarthris pain. Can it be taken every day for long term management of arthritis.
Avatar n tn I do take Celebrex for the rib pain these last month. I were diagnosed yesterday with Cotsochondritis but do not know if it can be something else. I did started treatment 2 years ago for the stomach - Nexium 4mg (five family members died of colocancer) I also have this strange pain in my hips down my legs - it starts and then after a while it feels better but then it feels tender over the vains and the muscles. Can this be my lower back.
Avatar dr m tn OMG! Thank u so much! You have described exactly the kind of pain I have along with OA in my shoulders, spine, and hips. I had an MRI and the diagnosis was DDD in T11 & T12 but was not a candidate for surgery. I have been taking percocet 10/650 3 times a day but it doesn't help with all the pain I have. Like u said it is very difficult to explain the different kinds of pain. I wake up with pain from the OA & I take a pill in the A.M at noon and 1 in the evening.
968560 tn?1307451498 The last norco Rx was for 60 taps it lasted me about 2 months, but it just doesnt really help with the pain, makes my head fuzzy but pain relief isnt much better than ibuporfen 800mg.and thats not a level of relief that I can live with.Im sure that my MD would give me anything that I asked her for even class II narcotics. Does any body know a seriously good analgesic? How about Demerol tabs?
Avatar f tn Trying a new drug for pain... Celebrex. I was on Diamox but could not tolerate it as it caused severe kidney PAIN. So, my PCP wants me to try Celebrex (3 days on, 3 days off). Anyone have any experience/knowledge of this med and, if so, how did you fare with it?
Avatar m tn I was told today by my awesome insurance company that they will not cover Celebrex. I have been on meloxicam for many years. I'm on day 25 norco free and working with my pain management doctor on non narcotic relief. I thought this maybe a good choice but the insurance company disagreed. Any opinions on arthritis relief options. I have liver issues and I'm tested every 6 months. I also have stenosis, 2 bulging discs and one that has been detached.
Avatar m tn Still some pain so am taking 3 Ultracet tabs per 24 hours with pretty good pain relief except following 30 minutes on the treadmill and various muscle building exercises and stretches. To calm down those muscles following exercises and stretches I would like to take one 200mg Celebrex daily but one drug interaction cite suggests "Moderate" drug-drug issue involving CYP450 2D6, which means nothing to me.
Avatar f tn I have OA in my lumbar region, and I hate taking prescription meds myself. I get relief on bad days using cold packs and taking Ibuprophen. For me at least, the pain is caused by inflammation, and those two remedies help bring it down. Another alternative is Biofreeze. It kind of works like Icy Hot, only in my opinion, better. Plus, the smell goes away really quick. Some people benefit from Capsasin creams as well. One other thing that can help is prednisone.
1391401 tn?1280158300 Hi, This is my first post, my name is Bill and I've been dealing with back pain and leg pain for about 22 years. The last 10 or so I've managed quite well with Tramodol, Ibuprofen and herbal sleep stuff (passion flower, 5-HTP). Recently my leg pain has gotten significantly worse. I started taking a bit more Tramodol but it was still difficult to sleep and function at work. I am missing at least one day a week of work. My PCP was an orthro but I changed to a pain management doc last week.
747443 tn?1233024111 celebrex along with lyrica 150 mg. twice daily. Taken this for one month and no relief.
Avatar f tn That's how I was before my pain started. I never took any sort of pain med. Even when I hurt myself at work and had to get stitches, they gave me a bottle of Vicodin, and I never took it. The only time I took anything was Midol for cramps. So almost every pill I take hurts my stomach. Even now that I'm not really on any medication, if I take Tylenol or Advil, they still hurt my stomach. So you're not alone.
Avatar f tn ( so far I have been on celebrex for 4 days but am not getting any relief but I read sometimes it takes a week or two to start working. I stayed off all pills today except the celebrex. I pretty much slept all day and the pain I feel in my legs everyday is sooooo bad it hurts to even move them. I am so scared about having to take more opiates and about the rebound pain which is why I really want to quit.
Avatar f tn i tried and the pain was so bad i was on pain medications that knocked me out. maybe ask for some cellebrex but see a doctor right away if you can miss work. please let me know how you are.
Avatar m tn I took Celebrex for several years for joint pain due to Crohn's. I keep having bowel obstructions so I went to a new dr. He told me to stop taking the Celebrex and start taking a tylenol everyday. I have not had any more obstructions but I do still have some joint pain.
Avatar n tn You have been prescribed drugs like flexeril, muscle relaxant, gabapentin, anti convulsant used for neuropathic pain, opioids, etc. You need to put faith whichever combination of medications you are using. Do not mix up drugs or try all. Follow one doctor’s advice and consult the doctor again if not much relief. Check with a physiotherapist and if still in pain, consider undergoing surgery. Hope this helps. Take care.
Avatar m tn Its methods not only offer immediate pain relief, but they also teach you how to condition your body to prevent further injury. There are a variety of physical therapy techniques. Passive treatments relax your body and include deep tissue massage, hot and cold therapy, electrical stimulation (eg, TENS), and hydrotherapy. Your physical therapy program will usually begin with passive treatments.
Avatar f tn Now when I have a flare I just take a Celebrex and it handles it. If my pain comes back I will for sure go back on opiates.

Avatar f tn Thanks for your answers - they're appreciated. I've seen the phrase 'breakthrough pain' used quite a lot. Could you tell me quite what that means. Does it mean that with the morphine sulphate (or similar) if you still experience pain doing a particular activity, for example, then you can use the other drug as well? I looked at the spinal cord stimulator but it isn't for neck pain - mainly for lower to middle back and limbs. I recently went to a specialist about this.
Avatar m tn There is something called referred pain. In other words, the pain may originate in one area of your back and the pain radiates to another part of your back,. Both of us, my husband and I, go for regular adjustments with our chiropractor. Were you involved in a car accident of some kind? I ask this because you mention going to a physiotherapist. Are you aware that celebrex has been removed by some drug stores in Canada. Personally, I wouldn't take this drug.
