Celebrex joint pain

Common Questions and Answers about Celebrex joint pain

celebrex

Avatar m tn Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.
Avatar f tn The dentist sent me back to the surgeon and they gave me a prescription for Celebrex. The Celebrex worked, I could open my mouth all the way and pain free, but only if I kept on taking it. I can't afford that, being a student, so I settled for taking an Aleve whenever the pain gets worse. Now there seems to be a nodule in the hollow of my jaw, just below the TMJ (again, left side only)/ I have pointed this bump out to clinic doctors, and no one gives it any credibility.
Avatar f tn true, I was on celebrex for a short time and it did not work for me. I thought it was making even more edgy and did not help with my muscle & joint pain. I think just like everything else, it is different for different people. Good luck & welcome to the forum.
Avatar n tn I have recently started having random joint pain, shoulder, wrist, hand, knee and have found that resting the joint in a splint or brace reallly helps. However, the latest pain is in my jaw - this happened last night. Anybody else had this?
Avatar m tn I am in a lot of back and joint pain. I am going to see my pain management doctor today. I take meloxicam for arthritis and I think I'm going to ask for a change. I have been told that Celebrex and Indomethacin is a good non narcotic combination. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
1207048 tn?1282174304 I saw my regular family doctor this morning because of the return of joint pain and foot pain. Luckily staying off my feet on Sunday & Monday helped the foot pain, I have not had the sharp stabbing pain since Sunday. I told my doctor I had the exact same problem with my joints last year starting at this time. I told him I think I must have seasonal joint pain disease. He said there is no seasonal joint pain diseases. He thinks it is developing arthritis.
Avatar n tn Hi, about three weeks ago i developed sudden joint pain in my left knee and left elbow. the joints became swollen and hot to the touch. The joints were stiff espiecially in the morning, but through taking celebrex once a day i was able to regain a full range of motion. Initially the doctor took fluid from the knee joint because his feeling was that it may be gout.
Avatar dr m tn Before diving into another invasive procedure, I visited a pain management doctor. ONE of the many things we did was try Celebrex. Now I was very skeptical as it had done nothing prior to surgery. But once my spondy was fixed I though - let's try it again. I have to happily report that this NSAID really did work. So much so I was able to lay off the Vicodin and/or Norco as a supplement to "stay ahead of the pain".
370181 tn?1595629445 My mom who is also suffering from chronic pain due to a back injury she sustained from a bad fall eight years ago, was also prescribed Celebrex by a surgeon who is an expert in pain management. Well, my mom was on the Celebrex for only two days. She felt very ill on the Celebrex and went off the Celebrex by herself as it was making her symptoms worse. Yes, I've also heard that Celebrex has cardiac risks, didn't know about the g i bleeding.
Avatar f tn t really want to quit Celebrex as I get flare ups due to back pain and it is helpful. Have you heard of visual disturbances like this?
1207048 tn?1282174304 m thinking of seeing my neuro to see if I can take the gabapentin during the day (right now I take 500 mg before bed only). My regular doctor is the one that prescribed the Celebrex thinking the joint pain was arthritis, though my x-rays and blood work were normal. I'm pretty sure that I'm having muscle issues that will sometimes cause some joint pain, but I do think the problem is starting in my muscles. But, what the heck do I know?
Avatar n tn I have been taking Celebrex for years .I have a bipolar disorder this is the only thing that fixes this disorder. but my burning and stabbing in my feet, I don't have sugar. Avatar f tn I have been on Celebrex, prednisone, plaquinal, methatrexate, enberol, folic acid, fosamax. I stopped celebrex and prednisone for one month, joint pain became worse, I am on Nexium for the gastritis. I have been healthy except for the rheumatoid arthritis. This burning pain and shortness of breath is getting me down. I have always been very active, walk at least 2 miles a day, now I am lucky to go around the block. I appreciate your responding to my question.
Avatar m tn Surgery has been suggested to me as well however my doctor has me on celebrex for the arthritus and also tylenol arthritic medication pain killers. I have heard that over a long period of time celebrex may not be good for you however in the interim until you decide it may give you some help.
Avatar f tn Ice packs are the best way to decrease the pain and consuming of pain killers depends on your decision. As the pain decreases you also are advised to decrease taking celebrex. Wearing a support is always good, try to keep the sling for couple of weeks initially. No other medication is required, eat healthy with additional proteins and some calcium supplements. Take care!
471014 tn?1207431881 The doctors told me to get off of the Celebrex but I could get the steriod shots if I needed to. Once I started the tx for HCV the joint pain has not bothered me. I have no clue what that all means, that is just my story.
Avatar n tn I do take Celebrex for the rib pain these last month. I were diagnosed yesterday with Cotsochondritis but do not know if it can be something else. I did started treatment 2 years ago for the stomach - Nexium 4mg (five family members died of colocancer) I also have this strange pain in my hips down my legs - it starts and then after a while it feels better but then it feels tender over the vains and the muscles. Can this be my lower back.
Avatar f tn Oh, alright she didn't say.
Avatar f tn So that was a little hard. Plus I have 2 kids. 12 and 8.) I have just moved to a 1 floor house in FL and the pain is worse sometimes. Celebrex is not working. Knee grinds. Now the other one is doing it and my Lower back is killing me. Has been for a while but with moving thought it was from all the lifting. But husband reminded me it started before we loaded truck. 3867523 tn?1348949685 Fifteen weeks post triple treatment for hep C with incivek I am having terrible joint pains. A friend that started the same day I did and took the same drugs is having a similar experience. Could it be from the treatment? The pain is worse at night when I try to sleep. Celebrex hasn't helped.
Avatar f tn I have been prescibed Celebrex for osteoarthris pain. Can it be taken every day for long term management of arthritis.
Avatar f tn I have been on Cellcept for 5 months for multiple sclerosis. I developed generalized joint pain, lower back pain, and now have a low RBC count. I'm seeing a physical therapist and am taking Celebrex for the joint pain. This is helping. I am waiting for my latest lab tests from my primary physician. I see my neurologist next week. I was on Cytoxan before and would hate to have to return to those infusions.
Avatar m tn I have joint pain in my right hip that can cause me to fall suddenly (electrical shock like pain). There is a place in the center of my back where I feel numb, oblivious to a needle *****. My right shoulder often aches and I get sever carpel tunnel like symptoms in my right forearm and wrist. Doctors (5) have stated that nothing is wrong. My X-rays show no arthritis, although L2 is displaced at a 17 degree angle, visible on a CT.
Avatar f tn I went to PM yesterday and thought I'd update everyone. I had an appointment on Tuesday but they called and said my doctor was out sick. So they scheduled me for the next day with the doctor who did my injections. It was a mad house when I got there. They had all the doctors from both practices there plus 2 PA's. So there were a lot of people there. The doctor had to read over my records because he had never seen me except to give the injections.
Avatar m tn Accurate advice from the dr Kokil Mathur , only i want to add a point is start practising Yoga atleast for 10 min a day which will gradually strengthen the knee muscles ..withour any medicine, you will start feeling results in some time !!
Avatar f tn Natural remedies are definitely worth a try and might make you feel better, but there is nothing known that will cure the underlying disease and prevent joint damage. Most patients I know use prescription meds along with natural treatments like heat, ice, massage, reiki, acupunture, homeopathy, diet changes, exercise, and more. I do believe Reiki has helped me take fewer meds but I still have the disease. With proper, aggressive treatment you may be one of the lucky ones that achieves remission.
Avatar f tn find a rheumy who will treat her joint pain...even without a definitive diagnosis, Rx NSAIDs could help (celebrex has worked well for me) and the TCA Elavil has helped relieve my chronic pain (low doses for insomnia & pain)...a mental health therapist who specializes in treating people with chronic pain illnesses can help along with a support group if/when they can give her some ideas of what she might have...
Avatar m tn Medication does not help anymore. The surgeon feels the pain is coming from the facet joint at C4 because they have increased movement after the fusion. We are exploring new meds and a joint injection. He feels there is still room for improvement. While several people have great results with surgery, you have to be prepared for the what if's. Overall, I would have still went through with surgery, because it did help the numbness and weakness I was experiencing prior to surgery.
