Occupant, Just because any drug is available over-the-counter, doesn't mean they do not have side effects. And just because side effects are listed doesn't mean you are getting all the information on a drug. Vytorin is derived synthetically from a separate co-marketing agreement with merck and schering, etc. Anything sythetically made (including any over-the-counter medications) involve a risk.

I'm with you on this!! It scares people more than anything...you have to see your doctor to get it anyway...he should be telling you the side effects! I think it's done to protect themselves from any litigation, because after hearing all the side effects, who would want to take it? I don't know...but yes, I've had it with these commercials.

My sister had an automobile accident last week --(side impact crash with seatbelt worn). She has a past history of chronic bowel obstructions and 2 days after the accident she was admitted to the hospital. She has a partial bowel obstruction associated with dibarticulitis. My concern is that this aggravation to her chronic condition is related to her accident. She is still in the hospital and hopefully will be discharged tomorrow (pending she is able to eat solid food).

I was given vioxx years ago, read the warnings about heart attacks and such, and threw them all in the trash! Not much later it was pulled from the market. If I lost a loved one, $$ isn't going to bring the back anyway, it's all stupid. If I do myself in, I guess I will come back and haunt the manufacturers....BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...........

My 4 yr old had a CT scan of her eye done and it shows a small mass less than the size of a dime on the bone just above her eye. There have been no side effects of any kind. We thought it may be as a result of an accidental pencil stab in the same area which healed fine but the Dr didn't think so. The Dr didn't schedule removal of the mass for another 2 weeks. We r obviously concerned about the likelihood of cancer. Any professional opinion would be appreciated.

I'd like to know if anyone else out there is post treatment for over 7 years and if you have near-debilitating side effects of pain in joints and muscles, fatigue, feeling that the "old you" has vanished and a new one took her place? Did you develop any behaviors that were foreign to you previous to treatment. I contracted Hep C from transfusions in 1990.

I think that there needs to be a discussion about patients not recieving fair medical treatment because they are involved in litigation brought about by personal injury. Not all personal injury patients are involved in litigation because they are looking for some easy monetary gain. Some of us have suffered many losses,( JOBS, HOMES, CARS, GOOD CREDIT RATINGS, RELATIONSHIP OR FAMILY ISSUES, DEPRESSION, LOSS OF CONSORTIUM) due to injuries that has kept us from being able to return to work.

I still have a sore throat from time to time, and it feels as though my glands in the right side of my neck going to my ear are swollen and somewhat painful. I do lead a busy life in that I work full time, have a 50 minute commute to work, and also go to school full time. I am 56 years old and have never been diagnosed with mono before, so I don't know if the fatigue now is due to mono, or if I've just got so much going on that I am tired all the time.

There is a black box warning on the medication package to prevent litigation. Note that your son was not minor. My knowledge of the U.S law is limited tho, you can always check. I am terribly sorry for your lost.

Many AD's have side effects that affect the libido, guess it applies to both sex es. As far as I know all AD's have this drastic effect . Hopefully you'll find one that's OK for you . Good luck.

Hi. I am on week 60/72, second round of treatment. I was really really sick after shot for first few months and then this resolved and became tolerable at least. I now find that I am having these same significant side effects later in tx. This didn't happen last round, but I went 48 then. Anyone else have this happen?

i had similar side effects when coming off the depo shot. I thought i was pregnant and took 3 tests. they went away but it took about 6mo. My docs checked my hormones and pituitary gland and they we all fine. It's probably not the effexor but ck w/ your doc anyway.

I just googled Avastin side effects are there are many sites that have lots of info on there. Also, you could google the manufacturer or ask your oncology center for some fact sheets.... Just a thought.

Cancer removed May 22, 2007, chemo July 2nd through October 8, 2007, and radiation on left breast November 2nd through December 26, 2008. Side effect from Taxol perminent numb toes, side effects so far from Tamoxifen body temperature changes of warmth then cold. The web page sites and telephone numbers did not have this information.

I have been prescribed Acebutolol for PVC's and I am literally exhausted since beginning this medication but I didn't see that as one of the side effects. Also, my vision is blurred. Is this normal?
