I have been taking 37 twice a day venlafaxine for a year now and initially felt great however 4 months ago I have been slowly feeling the same as I did before I started taking venlafaxine. I have frequent dizzy spells and get upset every day do I need to increase my dose?

I usually take Effexor (venlafaxine) tablets. When i picked up my prescription last time I was given Viepax instead of Effexor. Presumably these are a cheaper generic version but are the ingredients identical? Eloise.

I found the generic Venlafaxine were quite different to the Effexor brand name. Doctors and pharmacists have told me they are the same, but my body knows different. I got my doctor to wite Effexor on the prescription, which he did. Mind you, here in the UK we do not have to pay for meds when we are over 60. One doctor told me there was hardly any difference in the price, and wondered why I had been prescribed the generic and not the brand named Effexor.

The insurance company is giving me grief over taking name brand over generic, even though Pfizer is kicking in $75 toward my prescription. They want me to take the generic (NO THANK YOU) or Cymbalta (NO THANK YOU AGAIN) b/c it gave me suicidal ideations ALL DAY LONG!!!
