Common Questions and Answers about Venlafaxine and aspirin

Avatar f tn I am having peripheral neuropathy in feet as well as atrial fibrillation for which the doctor has prescribed Venlafaxine 75mg/d and Acitrom 2mg one daily and 1mg on 2days in a week. When can I stop taking these drugs how?
Avatar n tn This pain would intensify which would cause me to wince in pain and then release and then repeat all over again every 5-10 seconds for about a minute. This pain did not radiate anywhere but only within a specific point. Then this same stabbing sensation occurred half way up to the first knuckle of my right middle finger about 30 minutes later. Then immediately following this finger pain I felt pain in my right foot at the joint of my middle toe.
Avatar n tn drugs like aspirin and clopidogrel are usually prescribed for these kinds of situations. As far as symptoms like burning sensations are concerned, drugs like gabapentin, venlafaxine are given for these kinds of neuralgias. Other possibility for her symptoms could be vestibulopathy (inner ear disease), cervical spondylosis etc.
Avatar f tn These include tricyclic antidepressants (amitryptiline), anticonvulsants (gabapentin, pregabalin, carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, topiramate and lamotrigine), serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (venlafaxine, duloxetine), opiates, and topical agents (capsaicin, lidocaine).
959034 tn?1253675076 In a published case report, a 72-year-old woman treated with sertraline and a 32-year-old woman treated with venlafaxine developed movement disorders and symptoms consistent with the serotonin syndrome shortly after single doses of metoclopramide. Both cases resolved following treatment with diazepam, and the patients resumed their sertraline and venlafaxine therapy without further incident.
Avatar f tn Attacks could last minutes or hours and any combination of symptoms would happen. And in between attacks, my heart would regularly do many strange things - tachy, brady, irregular rhythm, extremely forceful beats, 'flip-flopping' feelings, etc. I also sometimes experienced a sensation of the heart stopping and restarting - immediately after the restart I would feel a MASSIVE, uncomfortable surge of adrenaline and the heart would beat very fast for a little while.
Avatar m tn Been taking wellbutrin and effexor. I quit effexor cold turkey 2 days ago. I've missed 2 doses several times before over 6 yr period. Never really had major side effects - probably because there's a lot of wellbutrin still in my system. Just been reading a lot of nightmares of people who have suffered from withdraw.I have some of the same withdraw symptoms, but less severe. Does welbutrin really help with effexor withdraw once you've been on welbutrin a long time?

Avatar n tn I had a seizure about ten years ago after taking Codeine, though they aren't sure it is related to Codeine or due to extremely severe abdominal pain and diarrhea. I shake and panic at the thought of taking anything, and I want to know how safe Venlafaxine is compared to other anti-depressants and if I should be worried about having a seizure. Also, I've had adverse reactions to the beta-blocker Atenolol and I can't tolerate psuedoephedrine. Any thoughts or recommendations?
Avatar f tn In the in vitro study several cocoa flavanols and their metabolites were shown to inhibit platelet aggregation, P/M, P/N, and platelet activation. Their effects were similar to those of aspirin and the effects of a cocoa flavanol and aspirin did not seem to be additive. There was also inhibition of monocyte and neutrophil activation by flavanols, but this was not replicated by aspirin.

Avatar n tn 2) Those with existing cardiovascular disease, including atrial fibrillation, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathy, valvular disease or pulmonary hypertension may want to avoid 5-HT completely. One Foundation analyst felt that 81 mg a day of aspirin and 500 mg a day of magnesium would reduce the risk of 5-HT inducing a heart attack. 3)The effects of 5-HT by itself elevating blood serotonin levels are extremely individualistic.

348629 tn?1212329273 Yes, I have been free for 6 months - but it was the hardest thing I have done. The tramadol kind of creeps up on you as you know and you need to take more and more to get that "buzz or high". If I ever have to go on pain meds again, I will never allow them to give me that!
544292 tn?1268886268 Hi Tramadol Warriors, Many people have come here for many years, giving support and getting support. Because I still believe that Tramadol is unique in it's ... terror and torture of humans, this thread continues. The people who can understand what you are going thru are the people who have kicked it and there's people here who come back to lend a hand. You also will never need an understanding ear as much. You can do it. You can quit. You do not need to be a slave to Tramadol.
355169 tn?1196994294 The only meds I am on right now are Bisoprolol for blood pressure and prilosec for heartburn. I take low dose aspirin and CoQ10 as well. This is driving me nutz and its wearing me out just to function normally!
Avatar n tn This really calmed me down quite a bit. In addition I started taking aspirin again and exercising. I'm not sure if any one of these things or the combination is responsible, but I'm feeling much better. I have to believe that what you said is a big part of it. Being able to mentally calm myself down and accept that I'm in no danger, along with the assurance that my general heart function is o.k. really seems to have made a difference.
915521 tn?1255821845 The young Dr told me I had arthritis and simple aspirin should take care of the pain. He told me to exercise and ignored me when I told him about my arms. I asked him about my left arm and he said I had frozen shoulder. Even I know I don't have frozen shoulder. He never touched me or examined me in any way. I asked him if the letter from the Neurologist to my GP Dr. was in my file and he said, "What letter"..
Avatar n tn My grandmother would massage my legs and arms with Witch Hazel and Volcanic oil. Sometimes I would take an aspirin (1950's). Well, I was finally diagnosed after trying to ride a stationary bike - I couldn't get out of bed the next day. I was all bent over like a little old lady. The doctors gave me some pain meds and sent me home.
Avatar f tn I take my cimetidine 800mg and it usually works used to I could eat something and it would help. not any more. no aspirin or anything that has aspirin in it. they put me on Celebrex I cant stay on it long I start getting anemic. he takes me back off of them. I have to take hydrocordone. I don't want to but nothing else helps. wish I had more energy. I give out I am just too tired. see I am no good for nothing.
Avatar n tn This website has helped me tremendously. I am wondering why my doctor prescribed a baby aspirin? and if I should coninue to take it? and if I should have another Hcg done? It is hard to get in to see my doctor. I am hearing form others that D&C's are not done as often now. I am also having that bad cramping on my left side today. Is there any chance that I could have gotten pregnant again??I guess my HCG levels would tell me that since my preg test is still positive.
Avatar n tn This board was suggested to me by a friend and I am so glad that I have found it. I have read most of the previous Oxy questions but still would like some additional help. I had back surgery about a year ago and was prescribed percocet for the pain. Eventually my doctor took me off of that and said that he would not ruin my life with pain meds. Now comes the tricky part! I have also been sharing the perks with my girlfriend who consumes the same amount as I.
Avatar n tn You will **** your brains out and get tremors and cravings and hope to die. My emotional energy was gone. I cried and was close to tears most of the time. Had no energy. Legs felt like lead. If you decide to quit get a medical detox or ask you doc for some clonopin to control some of the above symptoms. If not be ready for a week of pure hell. You won't be able to pull it off yourself without some support. AA sounds corny but find a group near you and go. Enough for now.
Avatar n tn I also have that annoying warm sensation that is in my right leg and it moves from my ankle and up about 4inches and seems to be very frequent. I too thought it was a little heater under the seat of my car that was warming my leg-but the heat was not on. Also, the balls of my feet are burning along with this sensation. I need to know what this is?
Avatar n tn If Patient is excessively uncomfortable, give small dose of clonidine (blood pressure medication). So in other words, give them a few doses of methadone, some aspirin and something for the "upset tummy" so that if they survive the disaster or the treatment they can't sue us!!! (*Make no mistake, this recipe will = death for MMTP patients. Sorry, I'm ranting here, but I just saw this report and I'm *furious*.
