Avatar f tn Struggling to find an antidepressant with minimal weight gain, sedation, tachycardia and libido issues that can also adequately control my depression and anxiety. I've tried just about everything. If doc hasn't disowned me by Mon will try again. Fluoxetine, venlafaxine, Trazodone or back on Citalopram which I was on for about 20 years but began giving me bracycardia last time I was on them after having a break from them. Please advise.
Avatar f tn I can't remember the last time I've gone a whole day without having a panic attack. My doctor recently put me on 75mg Venlafaxine and I now wake up in the middle of the night (I tak my meds in the morning) in a panic. I'd like to know if this is normal? And if Venlafaxine really helps with anxiety? I've been on other antidepressant that claim to help with anxiety as well and they just made me feel numb.
Avatar n tn I sleep pretty soundly every night and without it I really don't know what I would do. It's non narcotic and non habit forming if it wasn't for trazadone I would be in a mental hospital right now. I went twenty one days without sleep and nothing worked. They gave me trazadone and I've been sleeping fine ever since. Look into it seriously all I can tell you is what I know and that I've personally never had a problem with it.
Avatar n tn When I needed to take more Zopiclone I first made sure there were no reported contraindications between it and trazodone anyway, and held back to two thirds the dosse of trazodone to part compensate for the increase in the other. I feel if anything, reporting that should hopefully clarify to anybody reading this that a mix of those two drugs is not of medical concern, as it was suggested by my GP. I admit its unlikely your GP will prescribe you 3 zopiclone (7.
Avatar f tn When I got my last prescription I was given viepax and today was given venlafaxine hydrochloride. I have had low mood since changing even though my GP says that venladaxine is the active ingredient in all of them. Can anyone help?
Avatar f tn So I am reading this really interesting book called Surviving Suboxone treatment and Withdrawals: Personal Experiences & Stories. One of the patients in the book spoke to a Doctor (not a sub Dr.) and was told that she was not going through Suboxone withdrawal alone, but 3 disorders at once, because of the Suboxone w/d The first disorder he spoke of is Depersonalization Disorder, below is the definition: Depersonalization Disorder is said to be a side effect of the Naloxone in Suboxone.
376940 tn?1241685607 Due to its serotonergic activity, coadministration of tramadol with serotonin-enhancing drugs such as SSRIs, SNRIs, nefazodone, trazodone, and mirtazapine may potentiate the risk of serotonin syndrome, which is a rare but serious and potentially fatal condition thought to result from hyperstimulation of brainstem 5-HT1A and 2A receptors.

Avatar m tn Are you on any antidepressants now then. Venlafaxine (effexor) and Bupropion (Wellbutrin) are notorious for their side-effects. There's at least 39 others to choose from, many of which have a much better side effect profile. It's not my role to suggest medication, but if you also suffer from anxiety and insomnia (which if I remember you're previous posts correctly, I think you do, then Trazodone can be very effective).
Avatar m tn The adverse reaction always starts off with fevers, sometimes hyperthermia with temperatures above 38c then followed by the headches and compressed pressurised feeling in my head like someone is squeezing my throat and all the blood is rushed to my skull and like my head is going to pop from the pressure, often when im feeling like this I find my blood pressure above 160/90 and oddly my heart rate is in the 40- 50 bpm range, I experience irregular feeling in my heart, and involuntary muscle sp

And many more with varying issues. Mainly tachycardia, weight and sedation. What about Venlafaxine again? Tried it before also but wondered if worth another go as hear its less weight issues and libido issues. Please advise. Doc Monday and have no idea what to suggest.
Avatar f tn Swethering as whether to retry some I've been on before incase side effects change. Fluoxetine, Trazodone or Venlafaxine ? Sure my Doc will divorce me soon.
Avatar n tn I have taken wellbutrin XL 150 for about four years, but recently it stopped helping. My doctor added effexor XR 75 and trazodone 50mg to try to settle my horrible anxiety and pick me up from the dark depression I started experiencing about 2 months ago. Two weeks ago I was hospitalized for medication adjustment. I was awesome (except for jitters and high pulse rate 102-140 daily) until 3 days ago I started having anxiety every morning and cry all day for no good reason.
Avatar f tn Consultant gave me 5 weeks to get off it.When on last 75mgs started on Trazodone 50 and I feel like death Have I come off it too quickly and can anyone give any help on how I deal with this terrible feeling or do I just have to sit it out. I am getting to work but cannot function properly.
Avatar f tn I'm pretty sure he was talking about bipolar, for which "BP" is an abbreviation. Depakote and lithium are both commonly used for bipolar, and given which forum this is on, I'm pretty sure he wasn't talking about blood pressure.

401095 tn?1351395370 The antidepressants clomipramine (Anafranil) and venlafaxine (Effexor) also help obsessions. The FDA approved Prozac, Luvox and Anafranil as medications beneficial for OCD. The anti-obsessional benefits of any of these medications may not be fully apparent until 5 to 10 weeks after treatment starts. Imipramine, and alprazolam and the mild tranquilizer buspirone (BuSpar) also show some indications of being useful for certain individuals.
Avatar n tn It may have been just a coincidence but I was a daily smoker up until I started taking paxil and had a dangerous drug reaction, but I havent read about marijuana specifically as producing drug-drug interaction with an ssri, except that I did find that paxil and marijuana are catabolized by the same cytochrome p450 isoenzyme system and this could have been responsible for some of the symptoms that I had, your symptoms are typical side effects of an ssri (sexual side effects, weight gain, sleep p
Avatar f tn She barely eats anything and her main intake is Diet Coke and coffee and crackers. Her family doesn’t even know what is going on. I asked her years ago to go to a new doctor to make sure all these medication were not causing problems. Besides withdrawing and not eating she is alert and awake at work but comes home and falls asleep in her work clothes. She has fallen asleep at the dinner table. She has had no sex drive for years and her legs and body have bruises all over.

Avatar n tn was Effexor XR (venlafaxine). Never did Ambien, and from what you said, never will, either. . .I don't like blackouts, almost all mine were from alcohol, not drugs, though. My doc prescribed Trazodone at night for my own sleeping problems, but I almost never take them anymore. . .always feel too groggy and stoned the next morning.
401095 tn?1351395370 Reference to Table 1, Chapter I, which shows the equivalent strengths of different benzodiazepines, should enable you to work out your own programme and to devise an appropriate schedule for benzodiazepines such as prazepam (Centrax) and quazepam (Doral) and others which are not illustrated. In my experience, the only exception to the general rule of slow reduction is triazolam (Halcion).
