Avatar m tn 6) This was about 3 weeks ago and i was freaking out because this was my first CBC ever done and the internet suggest a chronic illness (HIV, etc) could be the cause of such low numbers. The next blood was drawn for an HIV test (HIV-1/2 AG/Ab Screen 4th Gen) and another CBC. My HIV test came back negative at 7 weeks 1 day after my encounter and my CBC results were as follows: WBC 3.88 x10(3)/mcL Lower Than Normal (4.8-10.8) RBC 5.13 x10(6)/mcL (4.3-5.9) Hemoglobin 15.

976897 tn?1379167602 My last Thallium stress test was chemically induced due to a ruptured MCL. I can tell you I had the same sensations, sudden SOB, rapid heart rate and a tight chest. It started the instance they started the drip and it stopped within a second or two of stopping the drip. It was one of the most uncomfortable experiences of my life. The results were totally normal and exactly the same as the previous year, I had expected bad news as well. Go figure........
Avatar f tn i have no ROM and cannot hold apiece of paper between my left thumb and forefinger, is it possible that it could appear stable in a valgus stress test, but in fact need to possibly have reconstruction done.
1148201 tn?1262165258 There are some tests which can be done to know and compare the strengths of your ligaments. For anterior cruciate ligament there is anterior drawer test and Lachman test. For posterior cruciate ligament there is posterior drawer test and for meniscus injury there is apley's grinding test and mc murray's test. Take care!
Avatar m tn according to doctor I have MCL laxity(probably grade-2 tear) Also it pains while I am sitting on the bed OR when I tilt my leg sideways. I have already taken rest for about one month for MCL to heal but there is no major improvement even now. Should I go for surgery? What can be its consequences? Would it be succesful? What should be the doctor's profile for treatment of such injuries( like MCL specialists)? What should I do with my meniscus tear? What can be done for osteo-arthritis?
Avatar f tn I have recently taken the breath test and it came out positive, so to make sure since the breath test can emit false positive results, I got an endoscopy - a biopsy was done and sent to labs for testing. Waiting for the results now.
Avatar f tn Mono is possible. The lymphocyte count should be obtained, as well as a Monospot or EBV blood test for further confirmation. The bilirubin is elevated, which can be due to a blockage in the biliary tree. I would obtain the other liver enzymes, as well as a liver ultrasound. If the bilirubin is elevated, and the other enzymes normal, you can consider GIlbert's Syndrome, which is a benign cause of bilirubin elevation. These questions should be discussed with your personal physician.
