ve gave oral sex to my boyfriend on the weekend and now I have really swollen tonsils and they have lots of puss spots which are extremely swollen and very painful. I went to the doctors and they gave me penicillin but said if it was an infection (I think) it wouldn't work. I have been taking paracetamol for pain and ibuprofen now which has helped a lot but not sure if the swelling is going down. I looked at them again and the puss spots seem to have gotten more white, what does this mean?
So recently i had oral sex with my partner and like a day later I developed a cough. I've been coughing for about a week but today I noticed that my tonsils are swollen and i noticed 1 white spot on one of my tonsils. I had my tonsils taken out when I ws five because of constant tonsillitis I also suffered from sleep appnear but if your tonsils are swollen it may suggest that something is not right somewhere else in the body years after having my tonsils out I was told I had celiacs which affects ur small intestine not saying that it's celiacs there just might somewhere else in ur body that's not okay.
I also have swollen gums. Maybe that may have something to do with it? what could this be? Should I take this seriously?
I had strep throat about 2 weeks ago and they put me on antibiotics. I got better, but now my tonsils are swollen with white pus on them. They aren't sore at all. They are just swollen again and I don't know why. If any of you know, please let me know!!!
The seriousness of infection reduced and a mild infection (like some thing itching on the tonsil area) continuous for about three months. After three months again the tonsils become swollen and reddish i consult with an ENT specialist who said it was follicular tonsillitis and gave antibiotics and injection. The infection was almost cured, but again shows signs of infections when exposed to cool wind, sleeps directly under fan or air condition etc. During these time i never had fever.

I have'nt had swollen tonsils in my life before and ENT Dr says , it needs to be removed surgically , as it dint obey for antibiotic medicines also.

The lymph node subsided after a couple days however I looked in my throat and my tonsils, particularly on the right side, are swollen and red (no white patches). The tonsils have remained swollen like this for 14 weeks now. Throughout this time, I can also feel an intermittent burning sensation from what I'm sure are lymph nodes in my arm pits and groin.
A pre-existing dermatitis condition which is normally very minor has been exacerbated throughout this time.
ve noticed a few small white spots on my tonsils while also experiencing a sore throat. My tonsils are slightly swollen as well. I've tried picking at them with my finger but they don't seem to come off - they're sort of mucus-like (not hard). Also it hurts to swallow. On my right tonsil there are a couple dots of white and on my left tonsil it looks a little stringy (which is why I thought it was just mucus). Any idea what this could be?

Having a large tonsil does not mean that something is terribly wrong. They can be because of repeated throat infection causing chronic tonsillitis. There are scientific journal studies regarding tonsilar asymmetry and it seems that they recommend ruling out a malignant causes since the majority of unilateral enlargements are present in lymphomas. Consult an ENT specialist for an evaluation.

My son is eight years old. He has just received his second positive, active EBV test in six months. He's very lethargic and not feeling well, and has a sore throat and headache. He also has low IgGs. I went to two doctors and they gave me some drugs, but they told me that sometimes when people get sick the tonsils stay swollen. What can be done about this? It is uncomfortable. hi, thanks for your reply. We havnt an appointment yet for the mri, her consultant has reffered her for one. However we have been to see her consultant today after I telephoned her expressing my concerns. She had a very good all over check and she thinks shes pretty certain its a virus ontop of virus on top of infection thing :(. But has said if she deteriorates then we must take her to a&e. She confirmed tonsils very swollen but no infection.
