m dating. Two days after our encounter, I woke up with a red, itchy throat, swollen tonsils and a white coating on my tongue. I also had all of the symptoms of a yeast infection. I went to my doctor to have all of the STD tests run and am awaiting the results. I also was given treatment for oral thrush and vaginal yeast. While these are slowly clearing, the swollen tonsils and redness in the throat have not improved at all.
I've read that oral herpes can present as tonsillitis.
Three weeks later I returned to Campus Health, this time without any other symptoms than my red swollen tonsils and was told that this was still a result of my viral infection from weeks before and not to do anything about it.
I returned to my hometown and went to primecare on a weekend due to an unrelated sports injury and asked the doctor to look at my throat as well in October.
It has gotten bad enough now that my throat feels closed off and when you look inside my mouth you can clearly see there is not much space between tonsils and my uvula is rubbing one of them.THe tonsils appear to be slighty red but other than that they do not appear to have spots or white anything on them. I have begun having problems sleeping as a result of this. I have no health insurance, in this day and age it is too hard to get it. I want to know what the problem could be.
I have a red growth in my nose (noticed today).. one of my tonsils are also swollen and it doesnt look right.. it has been for months. (it doesnt hurt)
I have also had terrible fatigue, joint pain all over, abdominal pain and so on...

Last week I caught a cold from some family members, I was really congested and my tonsils swelled, around Wednesday I started feeling better where I could go back to school, but for some reason, my one tonsil has remained swollen but I don't feel pain from it.
but the glands in my throat have been swollen (pea sized) for about 3 months now, the back of my throat very red and tonsils seem enlarged . 4 weeks after I had white spots on my tonsils, low grade fever 99.5- 100.4 it was off and on. alittle chills no much, sore throat and cough. negitve strep and mono test . this just sucks.
I also had some white spots on my throat and swollen lymph nodes but I was given and antibiotic and something to swish and swallow and those have gone away and stayed away. I swill have the swollen tonsils though and I've gone to an ear nose and throat doctor and he basically says that your tonsils can hold viruses and has given me two treatments of something he puts on the back of my throat. It doesn't look any better though.
Starting 4 days ago (roughly when I started the camping trip) I got a red, scratchy throat and had white bumps all over it. My tonsils are swollen, and still are. Just yesterday, I got two swollen fingers. The pointer finger on my right hand, and the middle finger on my left hand. On these fingers, are what looks like, little bubbles or airpockets under my skin. I can't feel them, but it dies hurt when I apply pressure to the skin around the fingers.
Following all this, the back of my throat and tonsils have continuously been red and inflamed. I have a sore throat that comes and goes, one lymph node in my neck that's been swollen for over 3 months, and now a white discharge from the back of my throat. This discharge smells bad, and after mixing with my saliva for the entire day, coats my tongue whitish/yellow.

I have sorethroat for about 6 weeks now, my doctor has diagonised me and said Its an Viral Infection and my tonsils are partially red. I am currently using antibiotics to cure from last 3 days. I have question here does Lymphnodes & Tonsils are the same?? When people say Lymphnodes are swollen does it mean tonsils??

Redness / bumps in back of throat, Swollen tonsils with weird pockets in which sometimes allows for tonsil stones. Also, red lumps and ball like growth noticed near the tonsils. Went to a throat specialist, and all she had to say is that it is my anatomy... I doubt that to be honest. I have pictures if you need more insight. Please help me, I'm going crazy. About a month ago, I woke up and my left tonsil was swollen and red and hurt a little bit when I would swallow hard, otherwise there was no pain. The next day, I noticed white stuff on a few areas of the tonsil. Over the next couple of days it kept getting worse, and even my right tonsil was covered in the white stuff, so I went to the doctor. She did a strep test which came back negative. I guess she didn't know what it was and she gave me an antibiotic. The antibiotic took care of it.
On August 10, 2009 I preformed an unprotected oral sex for about 10 seconds and I totally regret it... the day after both my tonsils were swollen and I felt sick. Now, September5, 2009... My mouth hurts and my jaw.. I think I have this red tint polkadot rash on my left arm my swollen tonsils are producing white hard balls that small like bad breath! So, back in september i got a severe throat infection, got some antibiotics for that and it went away, but the swollen on my tonsils never went away and i have a bump on the back of my throat since that infection, not pain at all, but discomfort and the area is red. I went to my primary doctor 2 weeks ago and she gave medrol i think is call to reduce the swelling, but didnt work.
my tonsils to be exact, i got tested on day 8 for chlamydia and gonorrhea and negative, then day 10 from sexual contact i got tested for HIV and negative. i just figured since i had swollen tonsils that something would have shown up?? and nothing,. now its a whole month and a half later and i noticed my swollen tonsils, red in the back of throat, bumps on back of tongue, dark blue bein under tongue with fluid filled looking bumps . come and go, throat isnt really in pain. im just scared.
The following Thursday I had soreness on the underside of my tongue and my throat was red, including tonsils partially swollen. This forum is about hiv. The symptoms are not an indicator for hiv. If someone had an exposure should test and wait for the results. Your incident(unprotected oral) is not considered as a way of transmission. Visit a doctor for your swollen tonsils.
ve been gargling and wiping down the tonsils. Do I need an antibiotic? My tonsils became really super swollen and painful a couple of months ago (when I was in a different but very stressful situation) but tests came back negative for mono, strep, etc. I did an antibiotic series at the time and they were still swollen but went down a few days later.
The day after, I have really bad pain while swallowing (which only lasted two hours after waking up, then disappeared), swollen lymph nodes, a lot of mucous, stuffed nosed and a cough. The pain was more around the back of my mouth/tonsils and not my throat going down into my stomach. ( the main illness was about 1-2 weeks.) I have had Swollen lymphnodes on both sides of neck, armpits, and maybe pea sized ones behind my right ear for 3 years now.
