Avatar n tn t trust any online doctor or anyone who recommends vitamin K2 and claims vitamin K2 (and K1) has no serious risks. Vitamin K2 supplements (and multivitamins) don't fight aging - they speed up aging and destroy your health. I fell for the vitamin K2 (MK-7) scam, and now I'm paying the price. As I mentioned earlier, vitamin K is produced by the body itself and not needed in supplement form.
928257 tn?1296673492 food you are already ahead of the game. The bigger problem is not eating fresh foods at all and instead eating processed foods, frozen dinners, and restaurant take out. By eating fresh food at home -- be it organic or otherwise -- you can avoid salts, harmful fats, and excess sugars and maximize your intake of nutrient-dense calories. - Dr.
Avatar f tn s probably why I feel so much better on it. The other supplements I take are Vitamin D and occasionally I take some homeopathic Melatonin to aid my sleep. I used to be on a truck load of supplements but I did not find any long term benefits with taking them. It also costs a fortune so I try to look at my diet to ensure I eat wholesome foods with all food groups included this can eliminate the need for some supplements. Karry.
Avatar n tn From what you have stated in your question, you are at the upper limits for vitamin C and E, decrease Zinc to 40mg, and suggest not increasing the other doses. You did not state the vitamin Bs you are taking. Vitamin B6 recommended dose for Adult male is 1.3mg a day (upper limit 100mg), and Niacin 16 mg a day (upper limit 35mg). You stated that you were having muscle problems, are you eating enough potassium foods (oranges, orange juice, potatoes, bananas, etc)?
Avatar m tn I take Centrum Multi-Vitamin, Omega Fish Oil 3000 MG, Choline (new to me), and Super-B Complex. What other vitamins/supplements work best with you all that take Lithium? What about Echinacea, Chromium Polynicotinate, Selenium, Calcium (which one), Taurine, and Potassium Gluconate? I pulled these vitamin/supplement names off of a patient's chart from another mood tracking website. Would these vitamins/supplements that I listed help me, or have bad side effects? Thanks!
1210142 tn?1266077031 Never tried them, never heard of them. Went to the site. Wouldn't personally buy anything from someone who didn't edit their website -- grammatically incorrect all over the place. Doesn't suggest professionalism. Second, info is inaccurate. They claim that their vitamins are natural and others are synthetic. All vitamins are synthetic. There's no Vitamin C floating around loose out there, you have to isolate it from something else.

Avatar f tn As a vegetarian you should be getting all your vitamins and minerals from the foods you ate except Vitamin B12 and maybe Calcium (if you have a history of bone disease in your family). Vitamin B12 supplementation you need to take because it comes from meat sources and it not available through vegetarian diet. Calcium supplementation may be needed if your intake is on the lower side depending on what you eat and your bone density.
Avatar f tn Next, vitamins always contain more than you need because, not being food, your body is going to evacuate a lot of it before you digest it and get it into your system. Next, you only take a specific vitamin, like a B vitamin, if you have something going on that requires that.
Avatar m tn Besides taking supplements, what else would cause a buildup (high levels) of vitamin B6 in your body?

Avatar f tn Hi, I was wondering if its possible to have a vitamin D allergy? I drink milk, go in the sun (skin gets red very fast) and eat other foods that contain it and have no problem, but I recently was told by my doctor that I have a vitamin D deficiency. She wants me to start taking vitamin D3 in a 2300 dose. My question is, is it possible to have an allergy to this vitamin even though I eat foods that contain it? Will this high level of vitamin D affect me in a negative way?
Avatar f tn The reason for this is because all those nutrients are needed by the body for the system to be running smoothly. For example the body may need a certain vitamin, but to be able to use/break down that vitamin the body may also need something else to do that. So, from a biological point of view it is trying to support the system from the beginning to the end process.
