Hi, I recently was admitted into the ER for shortness of breath, swelling and heart palps. The ran blood work, did a chest x-ray, did an EKG and a Stress test with the treadmill. All came out normal however all symptoms are still there. My doctor spoke with a friend/cardiologist who wants to see me and do a Echo. My question is, wasn't all that enough checking for the heart? Would would an Echo tell that all the other testing didn't? and...
I have no symptoms of heart problems, but I have a family history of heart disease. Is a nuclear stress test advisable or is there another test that would be more appropriate given the fact that I'm asymptomatic. I understand that the radiation exposure in a nuclear stress test is 250 times that of a chest xray. I'm concerned about the risk of exposure to that level of radiation given the fact that I have no signs of heart problems at this point.

Im consern about this because i always thought that X-rays are harmful to the fetus my question is Is that true?
I have several concerns about radiation. While there are a lot of sources that say dental X-rays have minimal radiation, etc. I am still a bit concerned, since I consistently get ill after getting dental x-rays.

I have a dental appointment tomorrow and I know they may try to give me an x-ray. I'm 16 weeks now and this is my first pregnancy. I went to the dentist earlier this year and they didn't want to do an x-ray because I was in my 1st trimester. Is it really safe to have one done now?

At the time I was concerned that a dental x-ray (realized recently that I also had a CAT scan for a stress test near that time) had caused a white spot deep in the pupil of my left eye. You assured me that this was not the cause.
Anyway, that white blotch is still there and that eye always seems to be dry and irritated and the vision has changed from -3.75 diopters gradually down to -2.00 diopters and that even seems to now be incorrect.
Does this seem to be a progressing cataract?
I had the stress test done before my surgery. I could not cross the street without getting out of breath and having chest pain. I was unable to complete the test on the treadmill so they gave me drugs to increase my heart rate so that I could complete the test. You can ask them about it before you have the test.
test done was hiv, hepatis b, hepatis c, siphilis, urine test, all blood test etc. also i did ultrasound of abdomen and chest x ray, which states that everything is fine. but i still having these symptoms whish is worrying me. i am very stressed and my doctors even a psychologist told me that this is due to anxiety i am having. i want to know what are the possible causes and if really anxiety can lead to this ongoing and continuous symtoms. thanking you in advance.
i have been as early as a week ago to the hospital and had chest x-rays, which they said were unremarkable, whatever that means, and blood and stress test so it's not my heart but i still occasionally get tightness and whezzing. could that be asthma and wouldn't it have shown up on the chest x-ray.
calld back saying my 8 month old had soe abonormal spots on his heart and he needed to get them checked out so next week we are having an echocardiogram done can you give me any idea what those spots might be I have no clue about any of this I was so stunned about the call I handed the phone to my Husband and he can never relay any kind of message.
My little girls has scoliosis which is very mild, she had 3 or 4 X-rays at about 5-6 months and a chest X-ray at 4 years, they say the scoliosis isn't getting worse, better infact, but, I recently read a report saying there is a link with childhood cancer and x-ray and haven't been able to get my mind off it. I have also read reports saying there is no link with low dose X-ray but don't know what to believe now. Am I worrying irrationally.
