Avatar n tn My nuclear stress test results were as follows ver batim. I do not know what it means, are the results acceptable, good very good etc. What does this say about the blood flow to the heart muscle ? "injection of Myoview nuclear tracer & resting images obtained excercised on a treadmill for 5 min 34 sec. to 10.
Avatar m tn I am 62 years old. During Stress Test I was stopped at 136 bpm as the Dr. said Target HR is achieved. The MET was 7.7. Is it a reason to worry? What should be ideal MET for a person of my age?
Avatar n tn What reason would a doctor have to request a stress test on a pregnant woman on her due date, when she has no other pregnancy related (or any other) problems? She was just in for a scheduled appointment, and the doctor requested a stress test.
Avatar f tn It was " suggested " that I have a stress test. It's not mandatory so I'm wondering if I should have one done at all. Has anyone had a stress test? If so what did the results reveal?
Avatar m tn Hi what would be normal watts for a quite sedentary younger man on a bicycle stress test. Alternatively what is considered average in METS in a stress test. Im quite overweight at 103 kg and 187 cm.
Avatar n tn I can produce a numbert of different opinions what is the appropriate heart rate and so on with exercising. The best method for someone with a heart issue is to have a stress test. A stress test is oftened done for the purpose of learning the degree of tolerance/risk one can safely do. The rule of thumb stated is not recommended for someone who has heart issues. You will be safe to engage in exercising according to METs.
Avatar n tn Can you tell me what it indicates if a person could not get their heart rate up to the desirable number during an echo stress test during the treadmill portion. It is a male age 36 with insulin dependent diabetes since age 6. He has a tendency to have slow heart rate and could not exceed the mid 150's during the treadmill no matter how they kept making him work harder. He is 5'7" and weighs about 155 and is very active.
Avatar f tn No. NST's are normal at this point. They just want to make sure they baby isn't having any issues. With my first I went 5 days passed due and had NSTs weekly from 38 weeks on. With #2 same thing only they didn't like what they saw the day before the due date and induced labor due to erratic fetal heart beat. She was and is totally fine and healthy though.
Avatar f tn ) and EKG was recorded all the time. The stress test showed that I got through the test better than persons of my age (65) normally do. I did not, however, reach my set maximun heart rate (160), I reached 157. But problems (depression of the ST segment, and SVT tachycardia) began during the recovery.
Avatar m tn I had asked this question before, but never really god an answer and I haven't done this yet so I wanted to see what the proper medical opinion was. I'm 35, have a history of high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heart palpitations (I'm on medicine for all three). I'm considering taking a scuba diving class and I've seen various recommendations stating a person with a history of heart disease MAY have to have a stress test before scuba diving.
Avatar m tn I just had the Stress Echo Test and my doctor states I passed the test, however, he saw something with the EKG and recommended a Thallium Stress Test. I run 6 days a week and lift light weights daily. Sometimes, I run twice a day, once in the morning and a 15 minute hill burner on the treamill in the evening. I have always run since the age of 18 years. Nver shortness of breath, I am now 57 years old and 166 llbs.
Avatar n tn I am a 61 year old male and have had PAT since age 21. I had never had a stress test until recently. Done to evaluate increase in irregular beats. The report said I reached 98% of predicted maximal heart rate as the rate changed from 68 to 157 BPM. BP changed from 152/80 to 189/66. I was stressed to 8 METS. I stopped due to fatigue but had no excess shortness of breath and no chest pain. There were no EKG changes over baseline.
11849443 tn?1441302841 Instead, ordinary stress EKG testing is performed and you are pushed until complete exhaustion (max heart rate) and if the test is inconclusive, the next step is nuclear stress test and then angiography if CAD is suspected, or Holter/heart monitors and then EP study with arrhythmias. Honestly I don't understand why the original poster is getting a stress echo instead of a normal stress test, if the point is only to reveal SVT.
480448 tn?1426948538 Hey...no harm meant, of course...just trying to make MYSELF feel better remembering that there are others around me MUUUUUCH older! :0) Kidding of course! Off to take the "age" test...Ive done one before, and my REAL age at the time was 35-ish, and my age per the test was over 10yrs old. BAH! I'll just call it "maturity", yeah, that's it.
1076228 tn?1256348980 However, comparing the trace elements injected at rest at during the high heart rate period of the stress test may show that there is a blockage of an artery and during exercise, your heart is not getting enough blood in parts of it. The cath will give the doctor specific answers. I'd try to stress about it, but the period of time after a stress test and before a cath is always a worrisome time, I've gone through that a number of times.
Avatar m tn Hi Anil, Surggest you get to a doctor get some blood tests done, its your testosterone and thyroid could be the main things, see what you docter thinks, this could also be your erection problems.
Avatar m tn I had a stress test because of SOB and high BP. My dr. just wanted to make sure nothing big was going on with my heart. I had the stress test and all was good except for mild LVH, which my dr. explained was from the high BP. My BP is now very much under control with the minimal of medication, thank goodness. My question is when the cardiologist measured my EF it was like 80%. I read somewhere that it needs to be no more than 75%. Would my higher number be because of the stress test?
Avatar n tn You do need to get back with the cardio and get an explanation of a one minute stress test terminated at heart rate of 144. You do not state how you felt at the time of the test termination. You are still not out very far from your heart attack; I'd go back and get some guidance.Let us know. Joan.
Avatar f tn What does it mean when, during a exercise stress test (treadmill), they tell you to stop early? Is it most likely a good thing or a bad one? Details: Given a stress test for heart rate irregularities. Resting rate was around 80, and bp around 110/70. Between 3-6 min on the treadmill my bp was 170/80 and heartrate was over 140. At 7-8 minutes they told me I could stop because "they had all the information they needed." They said I would have the results in a couple of days.
Avatar n tn I am now curious to know if it is common to have shingles at this age, what could have possibly caused shingles on me (though i think it is because of stress)? Do I have weak immune system? Do I need to go for another hiv testing? or see a primary care doctor? I would be very thankful if you put your expert idea on this matter.
Avatar n tn I do have trouble managing my weight (200 lbs at 5 ft 6 in) but my blood pressure and cholesterol have always been very good. I discussed this with my doctor again in January and she ordered a cardiac stress test with the echo. I was surprised to find that I failed the test. Conclusions: "Borderline hypokinesis mid & apical lateral segments. Echocardiographic evidence of ischemia. Exercise stress test without ECG evidence of ischemia. Abnormal regional wall motion with stress.
Avatar f tn m looking for some advice, I went to a cardiologist about a month ago for fluttering of my heart. They did a stress test and a holster monitor. The holster monitor showed one run of SVT and 800 PAC's which my doctor didn't seem worried about. The stress test wasn't great but not bad. I hit 198 beats after 10 minutes while running. I couldn't afford the echo at the time so I didn't do that but I wish I had.
Avatar n tn I had an echo stress test where the treadmill speed and incline followed standard Bruce protocol, but each stage lasted only 2 minutes instead of 3. The person who administered the test seemed very knowledgeable, so I assume the shortened stages were intentional. Are the results as valid as they would have been with standard 3 minute stages? I completed stage 4 and was told everything looked good.
Avatar m tn What it is was, i`m a 39 year old male I had my stress test and echo yesterday and i`m crapping myself about the results, the positives i`m taking from it are there was no increase in chest pain, i didnt collapse, there werent any ecg changes from the treadmill, pulse was nice and regular throughout and no contrast needed for the images from the echo, the negatives BP was sky high, was very tachy and was out of breath (i am after all unfit lol).
Avatar m tn Good Day, I am having a stress echo soon. I have some logistical questions and maybe 1 or 2 more. First, why can't you eat within 6 hours of the test? Is it because it would effect the test readings, or is it just because they are worried about you vomiting or being too bloated to exercise? I was also wondering, will they make me exercise until my HR reaches 220 minus my age? Is that the idea? Finally, the last part of my question. I am obese.
