strep throat and pregnant women

So just found out i have strep throat and am only 10 weeks and 3 days pregnant. They gave me amoxicillin for ten days scared it wld hurt baby but if the doctor recommended then it has to b safe right. ?

What is good for a strep throat i know there's many things us pregnant women can't drink i need something to help my strep if someone could please tell me remedies or medicine i can take . Im 32 weeks pregnant btw!

So I went to the doctor today to see if I have a sinus infection. I get them every year around this time and thought I had it. Turns out I have strep throat instead. I went to the er the first time i got it and the doc basicly said there was notjong they could do but run its course, that doc also *****, he also told me i had strep throat and he didnt touch my face or even really look at me. I am now on antibiotics for strep throat and it seems to not be work, which I had a throat culture with positive for strep. My oral infection is getting worse. I was tested for HIV at 6 1/2 weeks after risky sex, and it was negative. Why is my oral infection, which I believe to be thrush not responding to treatment and strep not responding to antibiotics? How reliable is my negative test result on HIV test? I am still not feeling well at times.

Gbs can affect pregnant women I've lost 2 baby's I've had it with both my pregnancys and more likely gonna happen again I'm a carrier of it its affected my pregnancys but it only affects some pregnant women and you only develop gbs in pregnancys and when you've had baby it goes just keep this in mind but dont worry it doesn't affect every pregnant women

Sometimes you can also get swollen lymph nodes under the neck. You don't always get pus (white spots on the tonsils or back of the throat) but you usually do. Strep throat can become serious so they do have to watch you. Sometimes it does go away on its own. I would definitely get the swab done.

do you have any mucus draining in the back of your throat? , or headache, toothache, sinus pressure and pain? if so try the neti pot mucinex d , honey and lemon(works like robintussin) but if its scrathcy and beefy red and looks like a strawberry then most likely it's strep throat with white pus or whiite spots on the tonsils or back of throat. then you will need to be seen by the doctor or np hope i helped.

I went to see my midwife this morning and was sent over to the hospital. I was dehydrated and they started me on some serious medication. I am feeling a little better now.

I would say got to the Dr and have them do a throat coulture. It sounds to me like strep throat or something else also.

But I would check with your doctor on this and see if the Strep group B and Viridans strep were sensitive to Levoflaxacin. If they are it may be a suitable substitute. Two months later I had a fever and sore throat. I went to my doctor back in Missouri and the tests said it was Strep throat. Is Strep a symptom of HIV? Or could a viral infection be mistaken for strep? Also would a blood test after two months from sex session show a reliable result whether it is HIV or not?

Every illness with both sore throat and fever should be professionally evaluated. The concern is not STDs, but strep throat, mononucleosis, etc. But if no real fever, you can safely just sit tight and wait for it to clear up on its own -- but still see a doctor if sore throat lasts more than another week or so.

Hi everyone, recently I went to the doctor with a nasty sore throat that had started to get swollen and accumulate white spots. He tested me for strep and found that it was not that, and my lymph nodes are not swollen for it to be mono. He said it was a viral infection that should last about three to four days. Anyway, the next day, I performed oral sex on my boyfriend. The day after that, I realized the infection had gotten even worse (at least to me). Could this have exacerbated the problem?
