Spotting between periods treatment

Common Questions and Answers about Spotting between periods treatment

Avatar n tn I am 23 years old and since the middle of January I have been experiencing irregular spotting between my periods. I am on birth control pills which I take every day at the same time. My spotting ranges from barely noticable when i wipe to period like. I only have the slighted bit of cramping with it, and about a week ago I noticed that when I used a tampon only one side is saturated with blood.
1490386 tn?1301382186 I am hoping to get some relief by testing my T3 and my T4 (thanks to suggestion from member gimel) I am waiting to hear from my Endo MD after requesting a new labslip for blood draw. I was really shocked to find the knowledge and treatment of this is so different between MD's. It is a struggle to get the proper level but more so to find a Endo MD that is willing to take any suggestions. My experience, this far has been, they treat your lab results and really need to treat your systems.

Avatar f tn I have vaginal bleeding and spotting in between periods. Its been going on for over 3 years. My gyno doctor just keeps changing my birth control pills. I'm very frustrated at this point. Is this something that you experienced?
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing unusual periods and spotting in between periods for the last year and a half. I am currently bleeding and have been doing so for over a month now from very heavy to just a little. I've seen my doc about this many times and he recently put my on birth control. (3 weeks ago) This last week I had extreme cramping which on a scale of 1-10 for pain it was a 10!! So now my doc took me off of birth control and is sending me to a specialist (gynecologist).
Avatar f tn My periods have been quite regular ( 26 day cycles ), I had a recent pap smear that was normal, a CD3 FSH test that was normal and a CD21 progesterone test that was low. My last two periods have been irregular with mid cycle spotting that is light and brown in color. On my second last cycle I had intercourse on CD13 with ovulation symptoms.
Avatar f tn There are many other causes of spotting between periods such as hypothyroidism, cervical dysplasia, cervical polyps, cervicitis (infection/inflammation of cervix), vaginitis (infection/inflammation of vagina), cervical and uterine cancer, uterine fibroids, and hormonal imbalance as in polycystic disease of the ovary. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your gynecologist. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind.
Avatar f tn I'm 26 and have missed 2 periods so far. In October of 2017 I had a baby and in march got my period again. Then in late may/early june I had a very early complete natural miscarriage with decidual cast. I had a very heavy period in July but nothing since. I've had light brown spotting but that's it. Is this normal after miscarriage?
Avatar n tn Anway, have been on a particular brand of the contrceptive pill (combind) for 5 months. I am now having period pains and spotting. Bleeding between periods was a very regular thing for me and sometimes afer sex. I am so angry that it is taking so long to find a medication to stop my bleedng, which then leads to my back ache, related to my endometriosis. Question, Can anyone suggest a treatment, medication, or even herbal treatment to help me with the bleeding?
Avatar n tn I know people have this same experience with the hormonal imbalance and irregular periods. Does anyone out there know what the treatment is for this short of a hysterectomy (I'm only 45)? Two years ago when I had another endometrial bx. it showed a proliferative endometrium. I have a feeling that this bx may show some kind of hyperplasia. Does anyone have any experience with this and what have they done for treatment?
Avatar m tn but go get retested if your symptoms persist I dunno what else it could be, but you should have been tested for ALL stds if you had one Yes, there is resistant chlamydia, but not common I noticed that it took a good 4 months after treatment for all of my symptoms (spotting between periods, back pain) to go away.....I am pretty sure I had PID though... Also, if you are always milking your penis it will make you have more of a dishcharge. Dont do that.....
Avatar n tn STIs, PID, cervical polyps and fibroids are other causes of spotting in between periods. For exact cause and treatment it is suggested to consult a gynecologist. Treatment will depend on the underlying cause. Best luck and regards!
7217295 tn?1389275690 Hello, A detailed medical evaluation may be extremely necessary for correct diagnosis and treatment of your condition. The commonest cause of bleeding between periods is hormonal imbalance. The two hormones regulating a woman’s cycle are estrogen and progesterone. If they get out of balance, one may have spotting. Dysfunctional ovaries as in PCOD, thyroid gland problems, and starting and stopping birth control pills or any other birth control method can all affect your hormone balance.
Avatar n tn has been a consistent 21 days, with severe cramping and heavy bleeding. Last January I went 6 weeks between periods, and thought I was pregnant, but was not. Since then there are anywhere from 10 days to 21 days between periods, still very painful and heavy. I have had a couple cysts in the past, but none currently. I have been tested for PCOS and bloodwork to check my thyroid, but everything has come back OK.
Avatar n tn I have two kids and I do not want anymore kids. I also have irregular bleeding and spotting between cycles. I am wondering if anyone had the tubal ligation with this procedure. What was the recovery period like? Wondering if I should have the ablation only?
Avatar f tn Blood clots during pregnancy are called subchoronic hematoma's. I had one during pregnancy that cause me to bleed for almost 5 weeks non-stop but resolved itself before the 20th week. It shouldn't cause any problems with your baby at all since it is just bleeding behind the sac. Miscarriage from it is only reported in about 3% of all pregnancies. AnnieBrooke over on the Maternal/Child Forum posted a REALLY good article about it yesterday so I'll copy and past for you.
Avatar n tn OPK's show I ovulate, regularly, between day 11-13. Myyday 19-21 progesterone levels are WNL. But, something has to be off if there is cramping and spotting every month, don't you think? I've been to a fertility specialist, and was so disgusted at the treatment by them (very condescending) that I did not go back. I am a pharmacist, and I just don't put up with other healthcare professionals who think it's ok to treat the patient like dirt.
Avatar n tn I noticed spotting between periods and odor along with mild itching. I brushed it off as the BV reoccuring,so I used the remainder of the cream I used in September. By February, the spotting was very heavy and the odor was very noticeable. I also started having pelvic pains. I went to the doctor Feb 9, and discovered by cervix was bleeding. A culture was taken and I was diagnosed with chlamydia.
Avatar n tn If you have a corpus luteum cyst, you may be experiencing menstrual changes such as late periods or bleeding between periods. Because this set of symptoms is also associated with the dangerous condition known as tubal or ectopic pregnancy, you should be sure to go to a doctor.
Avatar n tn Right after I found out I was pregnant two months ago, I started passing bright red blood, but just spotting. It rarely ever makes it to my underwear, but is there when I wipe. I had two transvaginal ultrasounds at six weeks. I have heard the baby's heartbeat twice since then (last time was yesterday) and I am now 14 1/2 weeks. My doctor put me on pelvic rest back at six weeks and since I have been spotting every five or six days, my husband and I have chosen to keep me on pelvic rest.
Avatar m tn This past September (appox 3 months ago) I went to my OB b/c I was spotting between periods. After an ultrasound, a benign dermoid cyst was found on my left ovary. I had it removed and he also removed my left ovary and fallopian tube.
Avatar f tn She didnt seem too concerned about the fact that im spotting whenever i wipe. Today is 7/8 and after i used the bathrm this AM, i wiped and saw the brown spots again. It's been like this since the evening of 7/6. Has this ever happened to anyone on here and what does this mean?? I dont think its pregnancy cause i had a BFN 2 weeks ago and then i was prescribed the provera.
Avatar n tn My periods have pretty much been on time for the last 9 months...Until now....They give or take by a few days....never more than 3. I've gotten the same PMS symptoms and thought that my period had started as usual but I've only been getting brownish discharge when I wipe. I know that this is old blood and is common in the first day of a period....but for more than one day? I had sex with my boyfriend and usually it starts the flow heavier but this time it didn't. My question is....
Avatar f tn Spotting in between periods can be due to stress, anxiety, hormonal fluctuations, thyroid disorders and ovulation dysfunction. Pregnancy can also cause spotting in between periods. If you do not get your periods in next few days repeat pregnancy test. If pregnancy test is negative other causes iods should be considered. A clinical examination and work up may be necessary. Keep me posted on how you are doing. I hope it helps. Best wishes and regards!
Avatar n tn I had a hysterosonography done due to spotting between periods. It found a polyp. Impression: 9 mm endometrial polyp. Although it didn't mention this in the impression, it indicated further up on the report that the endometrial stripe was heterogenous. Does a polyp make the endometrial stripe appear heterogeneous? Will be following up with my GYN next month to decide on course of treatment.
Avatar f tn I had laser treatment last year for cin 3 and went to the doctors a couple of weeks ago cause between my periods I have been spotting and the doctor said my cervix has been left with scars, the thing I wanted to know could this cause me not to full pregnant

Avatar f tn About 10 months ago I started bleeding in between periods... not just spotting, it was like I was having 2 periods a month. It stopped about 3 months ago. I probably should have had it checked out but thought it was just my body still in disaray from the birth... my periods have been especially heavy and uncomfortable, with a lot of clotting ever since. Plus, out here, as advanced as they are, I just don't trust the doctors so I kept putting off going to see one.
Avatar n tn I am 53 & have always had irregular periods - 15 to 45 days in between periods; 5 to 16 days long. When I turned 49, the periods were shorter in between, but longer in duration. Since then, I would have a few hrs when the flow would be very heavy, then "normalize". I have 3 fibroids; I go for annual pap smears, and had 2 uterine biopsies ('05 & '06) to rule out cancer for the long lasting periods. In Nov.'06, I had a 12 day period, then no periods until Apr.
