Common Questions and Answers about Sneezing fits in dogs

518117 tn?1429279873 Otherwise, she is maybe a tad overweight, eats like a little pig, goes to her litterbox well etc. Has a beautiful shiny coat, too. Very healthy except for these sneezing fits. Paradise was a gunshot victim almost 2 yrs. ago. Lost one eye and hearing in one ear. I am wondering if this gunshot could have effected her sinuses or something to cause this sneezing. Or maybe she has allergies. We cannot afford to take her to the vet right now.
Avatar n tn Sneezing dogs, this time of the year, is a sure sign of allergies (especially if they're fine throughout the rest of the year). What RedHed1973 said... Benadryl. We actually give ours the regular kind (non-drowsy of course). Works like a charm and stops the itchy skin, watery eyes, runny nose, eye boogers & sneezing. Late April through August is allergy season for our girls, so we stock up on Benadryl big time during those months!
Avatar f tn He started having sneezing fits and sneezes alot to the point of nose bleeds. He will make noises like a intraverted sneeze and will run and lay down because of it. I have taken him to the vet and he has had antibiotics steroids and has tryed Claratin,Zyrtec,Benadrill allergy meds and still sneezes etc. He is eating and at times drinks more water than usual. The vet says I can try x-rays.
1336515 tn?1285011743 I keep getting these random but annoying watery red eyes and sneezing attacks. I went through my whole life never being allergic to anything except very strong perfumes in lotions, and I have lived with cats, dogs, hampsters...ect my whole life. I had an allergy test last year that came out clean (apparently I am not allergic to anything). But when I get these allergy attacks my nose runs like a faucet and I cant stop sneezing. It happens at work, and at home.
Avatar n tn I see that I am not alone in my misery. These fits occur any time of year for me and last about a day. No type of antihistimine or other allergy medicine makes any difference. My allergy specialist thinks the cause may be a virus. No one knows. Sometimes they occur every 10-12 days, other times I go a month or two. It is horrible.
82861 tn?1333457511 Now our Dal/Lab mix, Maggie, joined in last night with sneezing fits like I've never seen in a dog and they're continuing today. Neither of them has fever or loss of appetite, but they're both somewhat lethargic and just "off." We'll all be heading to the vet when he reopens tomorrow. They're vaccinated against kennel cough and the new "dog flu" so Lord only knows what bug they've picked up or where. We haven't even been to the dog park in months since it got so hot.
572651 tn?1531002957 That meant Bomber, his new partner, would also be living in the house with us. K-9 dogs are also very much a part of their families. But Bomber is a 100 lb German Shepherd ... he is generally very docile around the house (unless someone he doesn't know comes to the door or breaches the perimeter of our property, lol), but we just were not comfortable introducing a small bird into the equation. Plus, Cosmo was used to being out of his cage whenever I was home.
Avatar n tn Are you affected worse during weather changes or rainy or humid weather? Or in summer or winter or all the time? I ask because I live in a mild sub tropical climate and mine used to be worst at the start and during winter which is dry, but the last couple of years I'm affected really badly when it rains and in the humid stormy summers.
1969477 tn?1327552019 I work at a dog day care/boarding & grooming service. The indoor play yards where the dogs go to the bathroom are mopped regularly with a very strong industrial bleach solution that burns all of our eyes terribly & makes all of the dogs go into sneezing fits. I have recently been feeling short of breath easily fatigued & have had several serious dizzy spells that made me unable to function. Could these symptoms be related to inhaling these bleach (& ammonia from the urine) fumes?
725248 tn?1316165845 We adopted this Jack Russell Terrier in Feb, looking at all her records it looks to me that she is current on all her shots. She has been fixed so cannot have any more puppies. The dogs name is Lucy, one of Lucy's bad habits is she is a chewer, if our kids leave anything on the floor she chews it up. For about the last month now, it doesn't happen every night, but it will happen several times a week. At about 4am she will start vomitting, there are never any chunks, its just foamy liquid.
Avatar f tn Betwee, the chemicals the beds are made from and the chemicals in bed sheets and detergents and fabric softners and perfumes added to them you have a stew pot that you are sleeping in for several hours each day, 365 days of the year. As you live in Spain there is no product I can recommend, but I can recommend a herb that may help you. It is called marshmallow and you can (hopefully) buy it in capsule form where they sell health foods. It is very safe to use, even for long periods of time.
Avatar f tn I think maybe he lost a tiny bit of weight over the 8 days I was gone but that makes sense as he was eating their food, stress, etc. Then I had to rush into work and when I came home a few hours, he started having sneezing fits with that choking sound dogs make when they're trying to clear the mucus out of their nose and down their throats.
641243 tn?1235755684 full body sneezing that lasted about a minute or two. Since he's epileptic and has seizures for no known reason, I am obviously seriously concerned about a tumor. How can I know more without having to go spend more money at the neurologist (in the past year we've spent $5k on his epilepsy diagnosis and $6k on a tummy obstruction...spending more money is truly, truly not an option). I'm feeling more than helpless and slightly hopeless.
Avatar n tn Lola is an 11month old lab/hound mix. On May 10th she started sniffling and sneezing. Over a few days she developed hives on her snout, swollen glands under her arms, and congestion. After two weeks of cephalexin the hives went down, as well as her swollen glands. However, she became extremely lethargic, loss of appetite, weight loss, and hair loss/skin lesions. She was then started on a two week dose of doxy followed by two weeks of zenaquin.

Avatar n tn As the days passed while feeling sick I realized I wouldnt get sick like this of only a mango allergic reaction so most likely what I thought was herpes IS in fact herpes.
Avatar n tn Just a thought..... It sounds alot like when I had whooping cough (Pertussis) a few years ago. Doctors tried to treat me for infections and asthma too, even when I fractured my ribs while having a coughing fit during the 4th month of the ****.
Avatar f tn 9 years ago, I had a breakdown and afterwards moved into a place for 6 months where the lady let her dogs run all over the beds. I had cats in my childhood and was fine with them, until developing a cat fur allergy in the last 4 years of their life, and ever since then. Since moving out of the lady's house, I have ever since had the most almighty, hacking, crackly, phlegm producing cough which sounds very similar to a smokers cough-I have NEVER ever smoked in my life.

Avatar n tn Check out the rest of the forums here - we've all been talking in several about the same issues. Know exactly where you're coming from. So tired and feel so bad you can't function at all....sinus pressure, and seems most of us have had CT Scans, been to ENTs, and been on all the same meds. So far Prednisone has helped me....but today's my last pill and I'm praying I won't go back to where I was, which was totally unable to function.

Avatar f tn 30 in the evening and you eat cereal for supper because it's too much work to cook after working all day; and you can't do the things you really like and want to do, because you are just too tired" kind of tired. I have had a few very low grade fevers on and off, no sore throat, no cold symptoms, no enlarged lymph nodes (that I'm aware of), no headache, no coughing, no muscle aches other than the usual ones.
1550149 tn?1340004330 It can also affect other parts of the body besides the joints. (See “What Happens in Rheumatoid Arthritis?”) In addition, people with rheumatoid arthritis may have fatigue, occasional fevers, and a general sense of not feeling well. The course of rheumatoid arthritis can range from mild to severe. In most cases it is chronic, meaning it lasts a long time—often a lifetime.
