She is one of the most high-spirited dogs I have ever seen, loves to play, give kisses, etc...I have noticed when I kiss her nose or touch anywhere near her snout, she yelps in distress. I certainly see alot of pugs with allergies (to food or pollen/dust), usually with symptoms such as scratching, foot licking, recurrent skin rashes and recurrent ear infections, and less commonly sneezing and reverse sneezing. I was VERY interested in the vet saying he could hear congestion in his nose... which goes with reverse sneezing. I was also interested in the report that the dog licks a lot. There are so many reasons your dog could be having a nose bleed. The excessive sneezing episode that you mention could have caused a small blood vessel to break or it could just be from an allergy as you stated also. He has been through alot recently. You haven't said how old Wentworth is but judging from his picture he does not look to be up there in age but you never know. Retrievers get nose bleeds alot it seems.

Thanks for the help. Both Pekingese and Pugs have short noses, but if your vet is correct about this "choking" being due to having a short nose, then these dogs should be "choking" constantly and not just once in a while. I'll bring him to my vet and I'll post back with what she says.

This was never happend to me before, when I sneezed a mucus with blood and when I search it in google, others said that if you sneezed a mucus with blood, you must stop blowing your nose. Is it true?

t realize it caused sneezing too! Was working outside the other day and kept sneezing so hard my knit cap would fall off!
