Sneezing blood in dogs

Common Questions and Answers about Sneezing blood in dogs

sneeze

Avatar f tn Even something from the vacuum cleaner or tumble dryer. Our modern houses contain many things which can upset dogs badly. With dog in mind I only use two household cleaning products....laundry detergent, and liquid dish detergent (which is rinsed off obsessively). And if I wash floors down, or that kind of thing, I rinse, rinse, rinse with fresh water before I will even let her into the room. For many jobs I use plain hot water with nothing added.
Avatar n tn Saturday night we received a small dusting of snow in Montreal, (yes very early even by our standards) and when I awoke Sunday AM the sneezing started. In the past though sparingly in the past year, I would have small sneeze attacks after stepping out of the shower in the morning and it would go away after getting dressed, these "shower attacks" don't happen as often anymore.
682891 tn?1226696230 In fact, they knew they were nearing success when a separate research group in an unaffiliated study reported that in dogs they had achieved a 60% repair rate of the nerve damage by using the same treatment.
Avatar m tn Dogs ear twitches quite often... Been to vet recently... Just took dog to vet, female, beagle mix, spayed, 8 1/2 years old--Sophie. Only issues she ever had was an occasional UTI and ear infection due to the floppy ears of beagles (and mixes). No diet change. Over the last few weeks I noticed a recurring but slight ear twitch in both ears. No scratching, no rubbing on carpet. Does not occur during sleeping or laying fully down with head on floor/bed, etc..
326352 tn?1310997895 The immune system just reacts to an allergen the same it would as if it were a bacteria or virus...surrounding the invading organism resulting in an immune response, i.e. swelling of the area, blood rushing to the area, itching caused by an influx of histamine...(if allergen is found in the skin), an increased production of mucus to trap the invader and not let it travel deeper into the respiratory system, i.e. the lungs.
Avatar m tn I have a continuous problem with thick mucous in my throat. I must clear my throat a hundred times a day. My larnyx gets so full of the thick mucous that I almost choke and it causes my eyes to water. When this happens I hack up about a quarter cup of the stuff. I went to an ENT specialist who diagnosed sinusitis due to restricted airflow because of a deviated septum. After two surgeries for this there is no improvment. I've tried Musinex and steroid nose sprays. Nothing seems to help.

387767 tn?1345875627 I still have to walk the dogs. That doesn't change. Actually, getting out in the fresh air often helped me feel somewhat better. Hope this works out, but I have an uneasy feeling. Best of luck.
Avatar n tn I have neck pain and stiffness, extreme vertigo, constant headaches, and I can hear my blood shwooshing in my head, and feel my heartbeat. I have brain fog, lack of concentration, and fatigue. I have seen an ENT, had a CT scan, and my ears and sinuses are clear, no issues. Diagnosed migraine and referred me to a neurologist, appt in 2 weeks. I hope we are all still following and can help each other out with our search for answers. Thank you.
1375427 tn?1278730730 Has he been sneezing? Sometimes sneezing can cause nosebleeds in dogs. Also, it might be possible that he is having 'reverse sneezing' attacks (which are quite common in dogs, and quite mysterious. No-one really knows what causes them. However if those breathing issues ARE reverse sneezing, that in itself is usually quite harmless. But of course it might not be. Dogs can and suffer from asthma-like symptoms. So I suggest you get his breathing fully checked-out.
585414 tn?1288944902 ), doing passive aggressive or hostile pranks (in the past), self medicating with natural remedies (in the past), drinking large amounts of caffeinated beverages (in the past), overstating my important/thinking I could "change the world", unable to concentrate on tasks but becoming obssessed with something unimportant. Right now I am to the point where I can spot this and catch it before it gets worse. Can you? What happens with you? Can you stop it? And could you learn?
Avatar n tn Because I do not consume animal products and did not know whether the sort of vitamin-B12 pill I was taking worked for me, I thought it could be neurological symptoms of a deficiency, although unlikely just after 3 years with that diet. Had a blood test done, blood was perfect all in all, while B12 on the low end, but still considered "normal". What's also interesting is that I have a sensitivity to some chemicals I have not certainly identified, but it's not an allergy.

Avatar f tn She also has a fast heart rate (even while resting), that has continued since Friday. There is no blood in her stool or urine, no coughing or sneezing, and no vomiting; also, her gums seem a normal pink. The only real symptoms are that she is very lethargic (progressively worse), and no appetite. She also seems to be drinking a normal amount of water, but usually only when one of us takes her to the bowl (at which time she drinks a lot).
Avatar m tn Was going to mention possible reverse sneezing too, not uncommon in those breeds. Your dog is a mix but I suggest you do a Google search on each breed to see what health issues they can have, might help you out. Often the National Breed club web sites will address health issues also and give you some insight. If you are treating for Giardia, good thing that was discovered. Often does not show up in every stool. Make sure you wash the bowls daily in hot, soapy water or diluted bleach.
3170462 tn?1344721152 I've taken Alvin to the vet five times in an effort to find the source of the stuffy nose and sneezing. I've had blood work and swabs done on him. I have never gotten a definitive answer from the vet, though she's happy to take my $250 every time. I've given Alvin 250mg of L-Lysine (Viralys) twice a day in an effort to boost his immune system. I use Little Noses saline mist to help him when he's really stuffy.
Avatar n tn Last night I was experiencing sneezing, difficulty breathing, and could only breathe in through my mouth. This was accompanied by a lot of pressure in my face, and ears. Also, I was having difficulties swallowing, and was wheezing. When I was finally able to swallow, my ears would try to pop. I went to the ER and the doctor advised that he believed I was suffering from an allergic reaction. I have experienced a few of the above symtoms in the past, but never to this extent.
Avatar f tn Almost seems like tiny bits of blood or food in in too. Not a lot though , a bit here or there. Her normally timed bowel movement in the morning was normal on the first half and slimy and mucus-y on the back end. No food for the day so no bowel movements for the rest of the day. Her nose is still cold and damp-ish. She is still barks at noise and the cats and is sleeping next to me as is her normal routine. Her puking in the past was usually over by now.
1336515 tn?1285011743 I keep getting these random but annoying watery red eyes and sneezing attacks. I went through my whole life never being allergic to anything except very strong perfumes in lotions, and I have lived with cats, dogs, hampsters...ect my whole life. I had an allergy test last year that came out clean (apparently I am not allergic to anything). But when I get these allergy attacks my nose runs like a faucet and I cant stop sneezing. It happens at work, and at home.
641243 tn?1235755684 Like Red said, a slight nose bleed could be caused by a few things, some more deep-seated, and some no more than a localised problem. All the sneezing could have ruptured a little blood vessel in his nose, that's true. He also could have got some grass seed or some small irritation stuck up his nostril(?) That might have caused the sneezing fit? This is very common as dogs have that habit of sniffing their way through life! The vet can put a small scope up and take a look. Poor Wentworth!
Avatar m tn Is it possible that this is still whats effecting me without the other documented symptoms? I do have 2 dogs that stay inside. Ive never been allergic to dogs, but maybe the combination of dust and pet dander is effecting me? I would still think that my nose would be clogged and I would have difficulty breathing if this were the cause.
Avatar m tn Vet bills can definitely but glad to see your Vet did comparative x-rays and blood work. Sounds like he is in pain from something. Did the Vet give him a good oral exam, especially of the back molars? Due to his age and condition, he may not be a good candidate for anesthesia. I don't know what to tell you then perhaps he needs x-rays to check his spine and abdomen. I know, that can all add up. Please keep us posted.
Avatar n tn Most significantly, and unlike in people, symptoms of allergy in dogs are expressed not primarily through upper respiratory signs like coughing or sneezing but as skin disease and ear disease that often has a seasonal course. In the case of a single sided ear infection or inflammation one worries about a deeper problem, perhaps a middle ear inflammation or infection which may or may not include a perforated ear drum.
Avatar n tn even dust. And unlike people who often get watery eyes and sneezing, most allergies in dogs cause itchy skin or rashes. Maybe you could ask your doctor for a prescription food to try...like venison. Also, for temporary relief, you could try an oatmeal bath. I'm not sure how well that would work, since you've already tried so many other remedies, but it might be worth a try. Good luck! I hope your dog gets some relief soon!
Avatar n tn I did not think my allergies were bad with this one because i was not do the usual sneezing, itchy throat..But know i have all this pressure constantly in my nose, behind my eyes and constant drainage but no relief and also I get head rushes if i move to fast getting up. I have seen my regular doctor and he said take claritin for a week and if not better to see ENT. The claritin makes me feel like i got hair in the back of my throat. YUK! Anyone know what I am talking about?
Avatar n tn She said when she come in for her next checkup they will do a blood allergy test.
Avatar f tn I know that I had allergies to 2 trees, some mold, and slight reaction to dogs when I was younger (would suffer from sinus headaches and sneezing at the most), but this is severe. On Jan. 4th I woke up one day to my face being swollen, my eyes were huge, and I couldn't breathe (short of breathe, and throat was swollen). I never before had had this severe of a reaction. The day before I was fine, and nothing change in my room that night.
Avatar n tn I have suffered with allergies for about 15 years, mostly occasional sneezing and itchy skin when in contact with some cats. The main problem is a blocked up nose, I have had allergy testing which confirm allergies to cats, dogs and rabbits, and a mild allergy to pollen. I have also have asthma which is under control. I have used various anti-histimines and nasal steroid sprays with some success.
Avatar f tn Ringworm is especially common in kittens and cats, while yeast and bacterial infections are more typical in dogs. The ears are lined with skin, so itchy ears in both dogs and cats are an extension of the same types of infections. Your veterinarian will need to make the correct diagnosis in order to properly treat the infection. However, one thing that vets don’t talk about much is why infection occurs.
Avatar n tn Lola is an 11month old lab/hound mix. On May 10th she started sniffling and sneezing. Over a few days she developed hives on her snout, swollen glands under her arms, and congestion. After two weeks of cephalexin the hives went down, as well as her swollen glands. However, she became extremely lethargic, loss of appetite, weight loss, and hair loss/skin lesions. She was then started on a two week dose of doxy followed by two weeks of zenaquin.
