Avatar f tn Is it ok to drink slim fast while pregnant? I have gained too much weight so far. I started out tiny and now my mid section is huge! I'm not looking to lose weight but eating hurts. My lower back is in excruciating pain and I know it's from the weight gain and due to my belly sticking so far out. I'm only 25 weeks pregnant and I feel the only option is to eat tiny meals to keep up my energy because after I eat my stomach feels so tight b it just hurts.

Avatar f tn You should probably talk to your dr about this. Really any diet plan you try should be discussed with your dr, but who actually does that? Not Me!! The problem here though is taking some sort of supplement/medicine and if it will react with any asthma meds you are taking. Interactions there or if you are allergic to an ingredient could be an issue. I have never take supplements/medicines. I have used Slim Fast though.
Avatar f tn So basically I struggle eating and would like to have a simple one off meal that's serves all my nutritional needs. I just forget to eat and because of this I'm underweight. Trying my best to put weight on but it's hard for me. So I came across homemade protien bars. made from oats,protien powder, peanut butter,almonds,milk, honey,chocolate, almonds and I decided to add in a multivitamin crushed into the flatjack mix. Isn't much fiber tho.

You need to calculate your actual calorie needs, based on your current height, weight, age and activity level. There are a few recipes on his website. Right now I am using the Ultimate Breakfast Smoothie. It tastes awesome and it actually keeps me full for over 6 hours. I have zero cravings for food and sweets. I've cut back my dinner portion.

I had a single fusion one year ago to relieve one of the three discs. I'm left with severe chronic pain and limited to any physical activities. I use to run 36 miles a week, but since I quit running I've gained a bit of weight. I'm just now trying to get this weight I've gained off.

Avatar f tn That would be under 500 calories a day which in my opinion is like a starvation diet . I saw that you are 23 years old. You need a lot more than 494 calories a day. My advice is to consult your doctor. Personally, I don't count calories. I plan my meals with the food guide as I mentioned, as well as portions, food groups etc. Counting calories in my opinion wouldn't make you lose weight and you have to be careful to lose the weight safely. I eat a yogurt everyday cus i know that helps and i make a pretty good supper what i can anyways i dont have a stove yet. I didnt even bring my fryer over from in laws i could be eating corn dogs and french fries every nite but nope i was good left it over there and it stay over there lol!!

But you're right, with a little creativity and portion control, you can modify your meals to suit your needs. Your calorie range is good. So are your diet choices. But you might find yourself more satisfied having adequate protein at every meal, especially breakfast.
