Avatar f tn Is it ok to drink slim fast while pregnant? I have gained too much weight so far. I started out tiny and now my mid section is huge! I'm not looking to lose weight but eating hurts. My lower back is in excruciating pain and I know it's from the weight gain and due to my belly sticking so far out. I'm only 25 weeks pregnant and I feel the only option is to eat tiny meals to keep up my energy because after I eat my stomach feels so tight b it just hurts.
Avatar m tn You can't restrict your calories too much or you won't have enough to live on. 1200 calories is not enough for most people. You need to calculate your actual calorie needs, based on your current height, weight, age and activity level. Talk to your doctor about yoga -- it's moves are very low impact and you have to be aware of how you do them. Yoga centers on building core strength, breathing and relaxation. It can help you build muscle, lose weight and regain lost movement.

Business woman2 Also, the diet should have slightly lower calories than required for basal metabolic rate. Please consult your doctor, a physical trainer and a dietician regarding this. Your doctor may prescribe something to initiate weight loss while you make the diet and exercise adjustment. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
637356 tn?1301924822 m getting back on track, i just count calories and eat clean and healthy, and my diet consists of all food groups for variety.
Avatar m tn I'm 24, 5'7", 204 lbs currently. I recently (since March) have lost 20 lbs through diet and exercise but it seems like I'm at a stand still, and in the last week I have actually gained a pound and a half even though my diet and exercise regimen has not changed.
1577478 tn?1296177497 Start using the food tracker on medhelp and see how many calories you are eating each day. Do this for a week without changing your diet. Then after a week, do the calories they suggest for your weight loss goal. At 5'4 you probably can eat around 1800 calories and get weight loss. Walking 30 minutes a day will help and it is low impact for someone with asthma. At your age, you should take your time losing weight as you need to feel good each day to be successful in school.

Avatar f tn I noticed after that the calories slowly started to decrease,  ending up today with just 788 calories.  I would like to know why? If it will continue to decrease I will end up eating too less and I cannot call that healthy. I know the purpose is to loose unwanted weight but the most important is to have a balanced weight and a healthy body.  I will like to know what can I do to stick with my initial calories from when I started.
Avatar f tn Also covered are discussions relating to specific diet plans like the South Beach Diet, Atkins Diet, Slim-Fast, Weight Watchers, Counting Calories, Fat Flush, Body for Life and others." "Fat Flush" is a detox diet, much like a fasting regime. "Slim-Fast" is not a natural product. I am getting confused by the terse dismissals being offered to people who have come here for support.
11685904 tn?1440438888 Im 35 weeks now and I gained over 40 pounds already I'm thinking about starting a diet slim fast or herbarlife since my baby is almost ready for birth I'm thinking it should not affect him and will help me stop gaining weight. What do you think?
Avatar f tn If you eat normal meals each day and add a Slim Fast drink you will gain some weight as you are adding more calories. You can also download NOOM App for free or go to My Fitness Pal online and use thier calorie counters to track your food caloric intake vs. out put. The apps will tell you based on your hiedght, what your BMI is and how many calories you need to consume to stay at the weight your at or lose....
Avatar f tn You can also cut 250 calories/day from your diet and use up 250 calories/day in exercise. This is, by far, the best, and easiest, option. I'm not familiar with "slim in 6" program, but if you enjoy it and it keeps you moving, go for it. You can work into it slowly and gradually increase the time spent. Be sure to implement a healthy diet that contains a lot of protein, in the form of meats, chicken, fish, eggs dairy, beans, etc, along with plenty of veggies.
Avatar n tn In my opinion all those diet pills lose weight fast etc there all not good for you nor do they have a long term affect in order to keep the weight off you will proly have to contine with taking them.

Avatar f tn ve never tried that one but I heard some bad reviews on it! I hear that it has side effects; headaches, nausea... I tried a few others like green bean extract thing and raspberry keystone but to be honest, healthy eating and exercising had the best results for me personally.
Avatar f tn You need to use the right exercise and diet program. What you eat determines whether you will gain, maintain or lose muscle mass. Decrease your total daily caloric intake by 500 to 750 calories per day. A caloric reduction is needed to lose weight. You can find your maintenance calorie intake by using a standard calorie calculator. Maintenance calories are those needed to maintain your body as it is.
Avatar f tn I am counting calories but am always hungry which is preventing me from sticking with a diet. As a result, am seriously considering taking the prescription pill (phentermine) to help supress my appetite. My question is, is it save to take this pill while breastfeeding?
655875 tn?1295695107 Hello, I thought I would stop by and join this group. I injured my neck almost two years ago and it lead to spinal cord damage and herniated discs. I had a single fusion one year ago to relieve one of the three discs. I'm left with severe chronic pain and limited to any physical activities. I use to run 36 miles a week, but since I quit running I've gained a bit of weight. I'm just now trying to get this weight I've gained off.
Avatar f tn Get rid of empty calories and increase vegetables, whole fruit (not juice) and lean meat. A meat portion is the size of a deck of cards, and 1-2 servings a day is fine. Eat starches of good quality such as potato, sweet potato, starchy vegetables, legumes instead of cookies, cake, soda, juice, candy. Limit bread.
Avatar m tn Cardio activities like walking, running, skating - anything that gets your heart rate up - helps burn off calories that will slim down your entire body. There is no such thing as "spot reducing" by exercising only one part of the body. Sure, those muscles in the targeted area will grow firmer, but you can't can't lose the fat cells there or make them smaller only by focusing on the abdomen. It's great that you don't eat junk, but what time of day do you eat?
Avatar f tn Rapid weight gain is from your break from your diet. If you eat 2,000 calories a day of healthy foods your body is used to this and your metabolism will be used to that. If you go to a party and eat 3,000 calories of junk food then you definitely will gain more weight.
