Seroquel and heart palpitations

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel and heart palpitations

Avatar m tn By the 9th day I was rushed to the ER for extreme high blood pressure, pains in my chest, heart palpitations, panic attacks, and vomiting. I was admitted for 2 days, I thought I was going to die. The Dr. said that stopping a drug like Seroquel cold turkey was terribly dangerous and could have given me a heart attack. not saying that any of this is your case, I just don't wish this on anyone, so if you are having anymore issues tell your doctor.
Avatar m tn Hi I m feeling earthquake from 2 yrs when Nepal earthquake I already had anxiety from 5 yrs .
605458 tn?1265086851 It makes my heart beat hard and fast, palpitations, that cause me to feel dizzy and shaky and like I'm going to pass out sometimes and I panic and am afraid I'm going to die in my sleep and am afraid to take the rest of my meds= I'll be too sedated to wake up and not die even though I have taken this meds for years with no problems
Avatar n tn I have heart palpitations and sinus tach. My doctor says I am fine. I had an echo and 24 hour a little over a year ago the 24 hour said "mostly normal monitor with exception of PVC's and sinus tach that may be during driving or precipitated by excercise" the echo said "EF at 58% with slight mitral regurgitation some not visable".
Avatar f tn I still wake like clockwork ~4 hours into sleep, suddenly with palpitations and now PVCs--just had one about 20 minutes ago (every nite for years). I also go back to sleep and then every couple of hours after that wake again, and so on till daytime. This does not happen during daytime naps. I no longer have the emotional confusion and panic with these episodes thatI had with wellbutrin and seroquel previously, so I'm wondering if this really is just psychological.
Avatar m tn I had gone into my doctor because of high blood pressure, fatigue, nausea, and heart palpitations. My doctor did an EKG, I didn't think he would see anything because I wasn't having palpitations at the time of the visit. He said he was seeing multiple Atrial flutter, and because of the combination of high BP, Heart Rate, and atrial flutter he wanted me to wear the holter for 2 weeks.
1679876 tn?1304747215 I have been given Advair to take for my copd, but one side effect is fast and irregular heart beat, chest pain and increased BP----I take Metoprolol succ er for my PSVT--- -Will the Advair Diskus work against my metoprolol meds? My other meds I take are: zolof, welbrutrin, seroquel xr, gabapentine, tizanidine hcl and pravastatin sodium----will there be any adverse reactions to any of these meds?
Avatar f tn I have taken those medications and I am already feel less anxious and capable of falling asleep. On other news, I was on Seroquel for 2 months when I started having anxiety attacks/episodes for about 15 minutes - 1 hour every other hour. I discontinued the Seroquel but the anxiety episodes yet continued as well as the brain zaps of anxiety than began.
Avatar f tn I am been trying to figure out what's related to what, and what started when, and so forth and am going crazy! The doctors I have consulted have thus far either dismissed my issues or not been able to find anything. In mid May of this year I developed a right eye blinking and nose twitching to the right side. Around this same time I began to experience pain behind just my right eye and pressure and fullness in my right ear. An MRI showed nothing unusual.
Avatar n tn Metformin short circuits to some degree insulin's negative role. Metformin also reduces lipids (cholesterol) and so has very positive effects to preventing heart disease and reducing blood pressure. Google any of these terms in relation to Metformin and you will see. If you are a person who has tried to lose weight though calorie control and exercise, but have failed, you should try Metformin.
355133 tn?1241573248 ) i am also on Klonopin for anxiety attacks and Seroquel for sleep, i know that Seroquel is an anti-psychotic, but i take it for sleep because it's the only thing that works. anyways, after all the side effects, i went back up to 20mg of Paxil. and down to a 25mg and a half of a 25mg Lamictal for a week, then to just a 25mg for a week, today is my first day on just one half of a 25mg. my psychiatrist said that i could just stop after the week of the 25mg, but i was afraid i'd have a seizure.
Avatar n tn I also get weak, shaky, nausea, lightheaded, palpitations, occasional tremors. I have had 2 CT scans, and MRI/MRA of the head and cervical spine, EEG, ENG, EMG, extensive blood work, separate MRI of the brain....all negative. I have also had negative echocardiogram and holter/event monitors. I don't know what else could be done or where to go. I am concerned that something is being missed, all the while it seems to be getting worse. I am 29 years old. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
503727 tn?1210442710 As soon as I get into a place I get so dizzy and my vision is all messed up. I get so hot and sweaty and my heart races. I want my life back. I still dont believe that its just anxiety causing all of this. I feel like I have something else wrong that the doctors cant find even though i have had bloodwork, mri, ekg, and they were all normal. I started taking .25mg of xanax once a day. still dont feel any better yet. So if anybody has any help please give it to me.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have been on Effexor XR for 3 years and I have gained about 40-50pounds, most when my dose was increased to 225, now I am on 75mg b/c I'm getting ready to wean off the medicine in a couple of weeks, and I haven't lost anything yet. My eating habits have not changed and I exercise. I have always been underweight and I could eat whatever I wanted...I'm only 26 years old...I know my metabolism has changed some, but not enough to pack on 40 pounds.
Avatar f tn I have had the tingling sensations, tightening of the chest and heart palpitations....very scary, but it was, in my case, all due to anxiety. The pain in the chest lasted weeks until I finally went on medication. I now have new sensations I believe are anxiety related as well. My jaw feels tight at times, but mostly I find myself very aware of my teeth....they feel numb and I am constantly running my tongue over them. I've been to the dentist and was told my teeth and gums are fine.
480448 tn?1426952138 or was watching the world through a movie projector, instead of through my own eyes and mind. Therefore, I am going to share with you all what *I* know about these phenomena, and hopefully reassure some of you that this is par for the anxiety while irritating, maybe even is totally harmless. Derealization and depersonalization are two terms that are sometimes used interchangably. Truth is, they DO vary a little bit in their presentation....
Avatar f tn She also put me on seroquel to mellow my body out...? AND has given my lorazepam for anxiety to not get my heart going... Does this sound like a good plan? I am tired all of the time, and now REALLY tired due to the seroquel. She thinks that all these meds combined will help my bp and therefore solve the rythm PAC issue. Can someone please give an opinion, and now I am just struggling to make it to work everyday!

Avatar m tn Yes I have a rapid heartbeat too, I don't stop moving though but even when I am laid down it goes fast and I have palpitations, yours sounds like tachycardia that needs treating though. I am taking depakote and seroquel and I feel ok on them. I have been on zyprexa before, I was very drowsy whilst taking it, and put on a lot of weight. I did find it was good during a manic crisis though to knock me the hell out! Are you feeling any better today?
Avatar f tn I take metoprolol 25 mg 3 x's daily for high blood pressure and heart palpitations. I also take lamictal 200 mg and seroquel 25 mg at night. I have absolutely NO energy, and could sit on my couch all day everyday if my three yr old son and husband would allow it. My question is would it be safe to combine with the medicine I'm currently taking along with provigil and topomax. The provigil to give me energy and topomax to help with weight gain and frequent headaches.
Avatar n tn It is scary and disconcerting, my heart can beat fast and loud, my eyes unfocus, I see things that aren't there, my eyes feel strange and of curse my brain. As if someone is switching me off for a second. Part of me thinks that one time it will switch off for good but I just want it to stop! I hope to hear some more diagnoses and think I should go to a doctor about this if going back on my meds doesn't help.
3166043 tn?1514263618 I had a good week and a half and then it rebounded and it's been a week of these symptoms all over again. I looked up post acute withdrawal syndrome and had every symptom. I've been off them for exactly 19 days now. When will I begin to feel normal again? When will my brain learn to adjust without the med?
Avatar f tn I started taking Bystolic 5mg in early September of this year due to palpitations and an abnormally high resting heart rate. They can't find any cause with testing. Bystolic works great for controlling my heart issues---HOWEVER, since about a week or so after starting this med, I started having early morning awakening, and have developed dark circles under my eyes that won't go away even with sleep (was prescribed Seroquel to help with the insomnia). I look like a walking cadaver.
Avatar m tn It gets pretty bad though... constant sweaty palms, heart palpitations, sometimes i feel like i cant speak... and if i have to do public speaking my eyes start to water and i start shaking really bad and i feel like my hearts beating a million miles an hour and i feel like i cant speak or if i do try to speak, it comes out all messed up like i cant talk right. Any help? I'd appreciate it.
Avatar f tn I have done the checklists for both hypo and hyper and I have more symptoms in hyper than hypo. I don't have the racing heart or palpitations of hyper and I think this is because of the seroquel that is having a slow down effect on my body. Seroquel , from what I have research, slows down just about every thing in your body. I am also starting to think that the Diotroxin is the culprit here and that it has raised the ft3 too much and this is what is the problem.
Avatar n tn The two things I thought of first were a heart echo (to make sure there isn't an underlying problem with your heart) and a sleep study. I have had anxiety, pounding heart, tachycardia (palpitations), elevated blood pressure, chest pain, and difficulty breathing as symptoms of my late stage Lyme Disease and Bartonella infections. All of the symptoms of Fibro can also be caused by Lyme Disease.
Avatar f tn Yeah consult cardiology and get a new look at the holter.. Thats a decent variability in heart rate.. Did yoh exercise at all while wearing the holter?
Avatar n tn I remember when it was FDA approved it was under the condition that the heart arrythmia be labelled in a boxed warning but I did ask to start it and I had heart palpitations. Of course no medication should be discontinued without speaking to a psychiatrist. When I was on Geodon I was changed promptly back to Seroquel.
15432957 tn?1440522382 -It is common for me to be sitting doing nothing and feel strange heart palpitations which cause me to have even more difficulty breathing -When I feel the palpitations (which have been occuring less but the chest pain hasn't subsided) It seems that my heart is in my throat or that I am going to burp up my heart. When This happens I have to lie completely still and focus on not passing out.
Avatar n tn deep breathing helped the most for me, breathing deeply and expanding your stomach during the breathing will absolutely stop rapid heart rate and hyperventalating...which was my biggest problem. Also, tense and release, where you start with your feet and tighten those muscle (point your toes really intense and count to 10 then release quickly and take 2 slow deep breaths, then do the same to your legs, thighs, buttocks, stomach, chest, shoulders, and even open your mouth really wide.
